So many textures . . .
I don't know what to do with myself now.
I've still got many more ideas yet for 19th and 20th century industrial textures, Foomonchoo, but I'm hoping you and others here will put some of these to good use. I've every confidence in you all! Just let me know if something hasn't worked as well as it could...as I said in a post above, I started to rush some things to get them out last night and didn't properly test them for tiling issues. They should be fine, as most things are 'panels' not continuous textures, but I'm not noted for my quality assurance. :biggrin.gif:
I've yet to put some of your airship airport pics on display at the top, so please don't think I'm ignoring them! :smile.gif:
Hey Glimmar, just between you and me, what kind of drugs were you on that made you that good at making textures and that fast, or did you just take a ton of steroids? either way can you hook me up with some of what ever your taking? lol
I believe there are 4 or so floating around (sorry for the pun), including mine. You can see some of them on this page and the next couple of pages after that.
Just going to go ahead and echo everyone else and say WOW! So many and they all look so good! I'm tempted to try a little different one and use one of the metal blocks with mesh as leaves with a metal trunk, then using the metal rungs as ladders. I'll post some pics if it looks good. =D This is going to provide hours of enjoyment, thank you. :happy.gif:
I would be fascinated to see what that looks like, aTempesT, because as i mentioned above while I was doing some of the metal textures it put me in mind of Total Annihilation and the metal worlds the robots fought over. I'm curious to see if some of these would work in that context. A good reason now for having alternative mechanical versions for all the mobs! :smile.gif:

Well, changed most of the stuff around (haven't changed the sand, dirt, or gravel yet), and this is what I got.
Wow! You were quick with this. I see what folk mean when they say my textures are quite dark. I think I sit too high up in relation to my monitor or something.
Anyway, would you mind if I used this pic in the OP underneath the two sheets of alternative textures? It will give some a better idea of what they look like in the round. Some of them don't look half bad. :smile.gif:

HOLY SHEEP!
I have a few alt textures, but 400?!?!
You sir, are quite incredible!
Out of curiosity, how long did all these take? O.o
Thanks, mate. :smile.gif:
Most of the textures were completed from last weekend to this, so just over a week, but as I said I did have a few rejects I could dip into to fill gaps. The goal of finishing two sheets gave me something to work towards and Notch's notice of an update this week spurred me on!
Sorry folks! I'm not doing a very good job of keeping up with the posts at the mo', so they are bit out of sinc. If I miss something specific you've asked me please forgive me! :sad.gif:

Sure thing! However, I may retake that picture in a bit, I had a slight mix-up on the leaves (replaced only the fancy leaf block, not both… and took the picture with it running on Fast graphics.) ¬_¬
You may want to notify people that if they plan to change the leaves that they'll have to deal with that.
Do you have a list of compatibility issues? I try using this and Minecraft crashes before it even starts and on a clean game when I install Pchan3's Airship mod the icons decide to go where they want and the parts of the airship don't have icons even. Mods I currently am using with Minecraft Enhanced v1.3_01 textures 128 (I'd rather use Steampunk) :
-Airship1.3_01_V3
-AudioMod
-DrZhark's_Mo'Creatures_Mod_v2.8.1
-GuiAPI0.9.7-1.3_01
-MineColony-041b-dfu_1_3_1
-Miner_Helmets_Beta_1.3_01_v3.3-Modloaderv5
-More Block IDs (10)
-ruins-1.3_01-v5
-SDK's_Mods_Recipes
-Tent_Mod_1.4.1
Some of these mods I could do without to make this pack work. Please let me know if any of these conflict or if you know why it's crashing!
When it does work it looks fantastic! Great job! I'm a big fan of Steampunk and H.G Wells and Jules Verne are two of my favorite authors. Journey to the Center of the Earth, War of the Worlds, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, etc...
It's odd how whenever I ask for help with these texture packs and then try to get it to work again afterwards, they work! Looks awesome and works with all my mods...so far. :smile.gif: Thank you for your contribution to the Minecraft community!! (And Steampunk) :biggrin.gif:

Hi there fellow Steampunker's!
I've got a new place where we can share maps with some really awesome extra features that I haven't seen
on any other map sharing website... I know its starting to sound like a commercial, but I helped beta test
said website and I think many of might like as much as I do.
I think I am going to have to take all those glowstone textures, put them on the wool, and make the most epic stained glass window EVER.
I'm trying to imagine what 'ferret shock' is! Lol!
Now that's a good idea for the wool. The_Fool76, Is there any way to get them to glow from behind with glowstones, as can be done with paintings? I know I should look myself, but I always consider you the expert in all things Minecraft, and if anyone knows if something is possible or not. it will definately be you. :smile.gif:
I think I see myself mostly replacing the wool with some of the different metal textures and perhaps an extra wood planking for variety. I'm interested to know what others do with their wool blocks?
Thought i might drop by and share my progress :smile.gif:
Few screens of some of my textures (ignore the purple and green blocks, they are the textures that arent done yet :tongue.gif:)
That's coming along nicely, Xytherea. I hate giving advice really, but as you've asked, I'll give just a little, or you might think I'm just ignoring your work.
I like the chests and the gui, but I think the wood planks and the logs need some more work, the planks need a bit more definition and the logs less, as they are pretty heavy on the eye. I love the soil, grass and stone in the first pic you showed a few days ago, because it looked like the pack was going to be a smoothly textured 32x32 compilation, but some of the new textures seem to be moving in the direction of heavier detail which don't match as well.
Anyways, what do I know!?
Have you got a name in mind or a theme? I know this is early stages yet, so I look forward to seeing how they turn out.

I see what you mean about the wood planks and logs, i totally get whet you mean :smile.gif:
It's name is "Alternate Reality", The reason behind the name is uhh, my gosh im falling asleep as i type this, I got the name because of the way im thinking of the textures "If i started minecraft that's what i would have wanted it to look like" was the way i described it to a friend of mine.
Oh man! I've been following this texture pack since...hmmm maybe page 30? And I have to say I have not yet found a mod better! Thank you Glimmar, for making my steampunk needs possible!
Thanks, Doop, I appreciate that. I will do my best to keep up with changes and add new stuff when I can! :smile.gif:

Love these textures!
Just curious, is there a "colorscheme.txt" file available for Dynamic map v0.14? I would love if my dynamic map matched the Steampunk textures. Current schemes https://github.com/FrozenCow/dynmap/wiki/Color-Schemes
Thanks in advance.
Sorry, there isn't, mate. :smile.gif: I use 'mcmap' for my mapping needs (as seen in my OP...'Glimmars World') which I find to be excellent. It also allows you to import a copy of the terrain.png file and then interprets the colours directly from the textures when it compiles a an isometric map. Definately worth a look.
Glad you like the textures. :smile.gif:

Oh, wow! I took my leave to complete the alpha of my terrain.png (just finished, now I just need to tweak and do everything else), and when I return... I can say, that's quite the collection of alternates, and all well crafted as well. Very nice work Glimmar, and I apologize for my lack of items lately. I should be on more often though, and I plan on some new content as well. Very, very nice work, and I thank you for all you've done.
Hi, Tlos. Glad you like the textures, apart from too many late night, I thoroughly enjoyed making them. So expect more to follow...perhaps not in such a huge quantity though! :biggrin.gif:
I look forward to seeing anything you can upload, mate and no need to apologise, we all have real life stuff and other interests. I need to leave this thread to coast a little more and get out in the fresh air!
I have a question i am currently working on my own texture pack and i am doing a 32x one but how do i implement it in mincraft? I am not sure how to use my 32x blocks in the original mincraft like how to make the terrain.png

Just use any texture pack's terrain.png file as a template and fill in/replace all the squares with your own textures as appropriate...simple as that really!
Obviously make sure you use a graphics programme that supports transparency, like Photoshop or free graphics programs like Gimp or Paint.net. Windows 'Paint' doesn't support alpha channel transparency, so any see-thru textures like windows, doors, areas around plants and foliage will usually be filled in with whatever colour background you used for those textures...usually white!
When you want to see what your changes look like in-game, just drop your edited terrain.png file into the texture pack zip you are currently using located in the Minecraft Texture Pack's folder.

I tried that though and my 32x textures dont fit over the blocks in the original terrain.png
Notch's original terrain.png file is 256x256 pixels. You need to enlarge it to 512x512 pixels or just download and use someone's 32x32 texture pack terrain.png file as a template...like mine for instance. :smile.gif:
Cool, best texture pack i ever seen, but i cant fix the bugs...
They are:
Clock dont does nothing.
Compass dont does nothing.
Bricks are maden of fire and portal.
I installed the Minecraft patcher, but it doenst fix... can u help me?

Run the HD patcher, should fix the problems. When you run it, select 32x32 texture and select the pack as the thing to patch, it should run just fine.
