I'm 100% sure, but I have been following this thread for quite a while, however by way of confirmation you could check the earlier post titles : Glimmar's 32x32 'Victoriana' Steampunk Texture Pack WIP ( from post 2 of this very thread ).
(it's not the number of pixels that count, it's how you use them).
your work is outstanding glimmar, i have been away a bit over a week and you have been on a rampage.
Personally I love the redstone torches, so if you decided to change them i would love the image of those ones :smile.gif:
the pipes turned out great (red stone dust) does this mean the block you mine out to collect it will change? Im not sure if any one has thrown ideas up yet cause i havent had time to trudge through all the comments pestering you to release it. I say, keep them waiting, keep teasing them with the screenshots, and keep improving it till YOUR satisfied with how awesome it is.
Yep! This texture pack is 32x32 pixels per block - just to be clear. Bear in mind that you're looking at jpeg images here that are compressed to fit the forum layout, so there is bound to be smoothing in the image you see on your monitor. However, I can assure you I haven't photomanipulated the images in anyway to make them appear better than they are in-game. When you get to use the textures, you'll see things a little closer and see that like anything in a blocky world the correct distance to view your creations is all important.
As a little measure, look at the rivets on the outer edge of the iron block (the one with cogs, etc inside) each silvery white rivet is exactly one pixel, so you should be able to roughly count 32 pixels across. You should also be able to see the individual pixels on the diagonal of the glass frame.
Was hoping to have shown my lava tonight, but after so many variations coming out looking like baked beans or spagheti I'm going to have to work on it fresh tomorrow. 32x32 pixels seems a small number of points to fill in, you'd think it would be possible to do it in a flash. It's like someone telling you to compress Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet into 10 lines, but make it sound good and make sure all the characters get to say something! :0
Frustration would best describe this project. Having never done anything like this before, the learning curve has been pretty steep and pretty gruelling! Loving all your comments though! :smile.gif:
Those who have been following this thread will perhaps be aware of my struggle to find the perfect Victorian cobblestone to fit the theme. One that doesn't have any bad patterning over distance and works satisfactorily on the floor and vertically on the wall. It also has to be uniformly in line like good cobble and has to contrast with the stone block for building purpose - dark grey of granite cobble against the edging and capping of Sandstone blocks.
Therefore, while I'm on, could I ask you all to look at the following Cobblestone types I've put together and let me know which you think look best to you. I'm really getting past the point of being able to judge cobble anymore! I'll let you have all these textures after I've decided on one of them for the Terrain.png file and I'll probably still search for the perfect combination afterwards.
I'm leaning towards 2 or 5. If I'd had more time I would have also included pics of each sample of cobble in-game, but i just couldn't face anymore loading and unloading of textures into the game tonight, sorry! :sad.gif:
I know you won't have long to play with the textures when I upload a work-in-progress copy this week (due to the Halloween update), but I can't keep you all waiting another two weeks after the update, while I edit in the new 'hell' textures, you'd be seriously questioning my credibility. I also need a little break and a chance to recoup. So sorry about the not-so-perfect timing folks! :sad.gif:
Personally I like 4, 5 kinda looks like dark bubble wrap to me. But that's just me.

Also albeit a bit late to say, I love the pipes for the redstone circuits. It looks great and makes'em into great decorative tiles as well as being totally functional. Brilliant!
*sighs* This and Gloomcraft are the only packs I would use outside of my own, and yet both are HD. My laptop sucks, so I would be unable to enjoy it D:
I seriously doubt that

1 feels more 'natural', though it could use coloration closer towards 1 or 2.
2 and 4 are basically the same pattern, just different shadings. really it comes down to opinion on how dark you want the game to feel.
another thing you should consider is that smooth stone should have a similar shading to the cobble stone.
my 2 cents
very nice
