Hi Glimmar, gotta say, ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR PACK!
It is DEFINITELY my favourite pack! (apart from my own :wink.gif:)
I also want to thank you for being such a big inspiration too me (if you look at the pack in my sig, you will see what I mean. More specifically the ores, chests, furnace and dispenser) So yea, THANK YOU!
......can you included a version without gray or black grass...
Haha! Just quickly lookin' in. I knew there'd be problems! Those will be the Tundra areas, but they really do need another look at. Things don't quite translate how you want them to from those little biome triangles :smile.gif: I'll have a look when I can. I'm back out in the real sunshine for now. :smile.gif:
Again, If anyone would like to give some support to Glimmar's Steampunk, by way of using my sig. pic., here is the code:
I had a similar section of gray in one of my worlds, but it was generated after biomes and pines were implemented so I was pretty sure it wasn't tundra as it should have snow and pine trees. I also happened to have nandonalt's biome rock mod installed and the rock as green in that area which only happens in rainforests/swamps. So, I opened up your triangle in gimp and painted bright red until I found out exactly where the grey is from. It turns out it's the very tip at the top of the rainforest bit of the triangle:
As you can see probably due to the blurring some grayish color got in there and it happens to be a decently used bit of pixels. xD
(This is specifically the foliage, the grass in the area seems to be gray as well, I assume a similar cause and spot to be the culprit in the gray grass in these locations.)
Again, If anyone would like to give some support to Glimmar's Steampunk, by way of using my sig. pic., here is the code:

i MAY just have to do one for myself, if i can be bothered >_<
ALSO, My good sir, you have inspired me to work on a texture pack :biggrin.gif:
I had a fair bit of it done too, then my computer went and completely killed itself and i lost everything i did :SSSS:, oh well, MORE FUN TO BE HAD!
Would it be possible to get a Glimmar texture set for the planes mod? It's a great mod and you have a great pack, but the differences in colors and resolutions make for some less-than-beautiful steampunk airport builds.

I'm thinking about giving plane textures a try, i don't know how well it will turn out but if i do them and they are at least half decent i will post them in here.
Now I have 2 balloons, and 1 airship! Also, the balloon on the "Beach" station has a flashing alarm light!
That's looking fantastic, mate. Love the hot air balloon with the fire and the whole place looks great as a centre to spread out from. Hope you're going to continue to add to it!

If anyone is still curious, here's the sort of thing I do with art materials in this 'real world' i speak of (oil pastels on paper):
In these somewhat fraught financial times, this is the sort of thing that doesn't make me much money anymore! Not that it ever did. Lol! :biggrin.gif: Anyway, a bit off topic, so I won't bore you with any more here.
is that like a painting or a photo?
It's oil pastels (sort of like soft crayon!) on paper. :smile.gif:

[More pics above]
and damn im out of fuel, had to ditch the plane and walk back, maybe i should try a fokker next time :smile.gif:
The airplane really does look cool and would be a great project to work on, if I had more time. As regards the biome colours you've edited in, I'm glad you mentioned you'd done something with them, because when I first looked at the pics I was immediately thinking, "How the heck did those colours get in there!" Lol! Paranoia is setting in again, folks!

Just wanted to pop in and show my gratitude.
Glim, your work with biome colors has proven to be phenomenal to say the least. I now use your work in every one of my alternate texture packs. Top notch.
On another note, do you have a website for your artwork? I'd love to see more of it.
Thanks, Ioncat. I'm not so confident about my biome work now, but many thanks for the compliment! :smile.gif:
I do have a Deviant Art webpage, but since playing and texturing Minecraft since June of last year it's fallen into disrepair and needs a lot of attention before I'd unleash it on the public again, and I never got round to making a proper portfolio. Indeed, I still have lots of stuff to edit and upload there. One day I'll commit to it again...hopefully. As soon as I feel it's viewable I'll put a link up in the OP again. That might not be soon...you know what a sink hole for time Minecraft is.

Sneak Peak at Some New Alternate Textures
Alternate Cobble and Netherplate textures:
Are you specifically targeting me here? This looks very good, every JohnSmith texture I have left may soon be replaced...
Haha! No, mate, not targetting you. They were just the most obvious alternate textures to try out and upload a couple of pics of. John Smith is my absolute favourite texture artist (except that up-and-coming artist fella called Gestankfaust...at least i think that's the guy! :Notch:) John Smith has really laboured over making the textures tile and work together, I have the deepest respect for him and no-one does cobble, rock, grass (and many other textures too) as well as him. So please don't replace any of his gorgeous textures with my off the cuff experiments. :smile.gif:

No, sorry mate. I never did hint at doing anything as big as 128x128. I'm kindof committed to 32x32 now, if only because I don't have time now to start from scratch with any other resolution. Yeah..it comes from the particles.png. The green fire is actually made for the torches. But the games uses it for both.

You and I are very similar. Over the years though I've become a Jack-of-all-Trades and Master-of-None! I wish I was able to stick at one thing and master it, but too many different things interest me. However, 'art' in some form or other has always been at the centre of anything I've done, whether it's been in arts management or as a practicing artist. Sadly, I never made a fortune from being a Jack-of-all-Trades. :biggrin.gif:
I'm still working on a piece of steampunk art, in pencil as it happens, for the OP at the top. I like pencil too, but for colour work I love oil pastels, because it's as close to 'painting' as I can get without the hassle of cleaning brushes nor the expense of oil paints.
Personalised Steampunk Minecart
Here is nearly the last trailing order for personal company minecarts. This one for nerdboy64 (accompanied by appropriately coloured icons).
nerdboy64 - Pi Symbol
Rename your minecart skin to 'cart' and drop it in the 'item' folder in 'Glimmar's Steampunk' texture pack in your Minecraft texture packs folder (or your texture pack of choice). Make sure you put it in your active texture pack and not the 'minecraft.jar', otherwise everytime you run Minecraft it will get over-ridden by the cart skin in whichever texture pack you're using...meaning you won't see any change.
The icons are colour coordinated with the minecart of your choice, but you don't need to use them to get the cart to work. However, if you want everything to match perfectly, you need to paste these co-ordinated icons over the top of the existing cart icons on the 'items.png' sheet in the 'gui' folder. Use a graphics programme that can handle transparency, like Photoshop, Gimp or Paint.net.
I hope I've got close to what you wanted. Have fun! :smile.gif:
