I would be honored
But i really cant take any credit, I just modified the color of your book sprite and shelf texture, which is pretty easy to do these days with all the fancy picture editing tools xD.
You're doing some awesome work Glimmar and there is indeed way too many mods out there to be able to make textures for them all, besides, if a person wants something real badly he will put some effort into it and try to make it himself.
Keep up the epic work :biggrin.gif:
Thanks, Ominus. :smile.gif:
Actually your graphics are more up-to-date with my recent 'book' item texture anyway. Is the 'Books' mod what used to be called 'Functional Books', or are they distinct from each other? CubicMeter's graphics were for Functional Books! In any event I'm very greatful for contributions like this, that I can just drop into the 'extras' folder. I don't have to mess with the OP and it gives folk a bonus to discover after they've downloaded the pack.
I can't always keep up with what folk offer, so please don't take offence if it looks like I've ignored something. Minecraft is not only unique in it's infinite world building possibilities, but also the creative open aspect of folk sharing art and modifications on an unprecedented scale for any game that I'm familiar with. This is a great thing we do for PC life as we know it! :biggrin.gif:
@ Briggs, jim100200, Zawmbeez: Many thanks indeed for your kindness, I'm very grateful for the time you take to pass on encouragement like this! :smile.gif:

oddbaall, do you mean pics of your Minecraft constructions?
Assuming you've got past the stage of copying a pic from Minecraft using 'Prt Scr', you need to upload your pic to a free image hosting site, like 'ImageShack', which is recognised as being safe by the Minecraft Forums. Once you've uploaded your image there, copy it's URL address from the Image Hosting site and paste that into your post here, enclosing it in the 'simg' and '/simg' commands, like this: simg URL /simg. If you've got the address correct your image will appear in your post.
Who said anything about being old? I'm obviously referring to my travels through time with my time machine. Only problem is that it's out of order at the moment. The crystal rod kinda broke, waiting for a replacement.

Haha! That's the part I always have problems with!
Here's a pic of my biome colour experiments today:
One of the better areas! I just wish I could get all the foliage to behave like this, but there just doesn't seem to be a way of getting both interesting variety without the garish two toned trees in places too! I think I'm close to admitting defeat, whereupon I'll just completely blur everything! :sad.gif:
That looks amazing, mate. I love Doctor Who. I'm old enough to remember watching episodes back in the 1970's as a kid here in the UK and repeats of the 1960's series. Yep, I'm practically old enough to be a 'Time Lord'!
Love what else you're doing too! Is it not kind of scary having lots of strange people wandering around? Also how far have you got with all the new content and the GLSL Shaders (Depth-of-Field and More) mod. It still looks in evidence in your pic.
Lol, I love Doctor Who. I just started watching it during the 2005 series continuation though.
The people are kind of annoying because the dont want to spawn often. Not too sure on how to increase the spawn rate. But my idea is to add a bunch of different Humanoid NPC mobs, and get them to spawn on sandstone, since that is my flooring of choice.
With the GLSL shaders, I found a build that I like that is easy to maintain. It doesn't include speculative lighting though. I've been expanding my town and doing some fun stuff like adding a sewer system, a fire house, and I just completed the Esoteric Order of Dagon tonight.
Still trying out different screencasting apps, this is Camtasia.

I keep meaning to purchase the full version of Fraps...when I've got something worth showing! :biggrin.gif:
That vid is wonderfully dark and atmospheric and love the uses you've put my textures to. I've been in many Methodist church halls that look a little like that design. Not quite as dark though! Lol! Awesome work again, mate. But where was Doctor Who?
I visited the GLSL thread last night and was a little saddened the guy who does the work is leaving to start his own version of Minecraft...not sure how that will go! I didn't read far enough to see if the mod will be maintained after any future updates to Minecraft?

Ahhh! Yeah, I didn't have the punch-a-pic mod; didn't really understand what it was for until now. Thanks a lot for the help!
My pleasure, mate. Hope you have fun with whichever paintings you choose to use. :smile.gif:
I wish someone would give us more to choose from. There is an 'Insane' version of the 'MorePaintings' mod but although it's got masses of painting slots, they are only in 16x16 resolution, so not much use for this or other HD texture packs. :sad.gif:
Rename to 'grasscolor' and place directly in your 'misc' folder in the 'minecraft.jar' file.
Rename to 'foliagecolor' and place directly in your 'misc' folder in the 'minecraft.jar' file.
It is necessary to place these directly into your 'minecraft.jar' file or the changes will not be recognised! When I have enough new things to include in my texture pack, I will release an updated version. I'm not sure that new biome colours warrants the hassle of re-installing from scratch, but if there is sufficient demand from folks who are not overly familiar with dropping things directly into the 'minecraft.jar', I'll package something up sooner. :smile.gif:
I'm happier with the above versions than anything that has gone before! That is not to say they are the best they could be! However, I am now moving on to something else. If you find a polka dot banana tree in the middle of a purple marsh, don't complain, just count yourself fortunate, 'cos I'm not doing anything else on biomes for the moment
This time the grasscolour has had the grey frozen areas reduced significantly and areas that could result in harsh transitions have been blurred to a greater degree. Areas where the grass was too similar in colour to the foliage have been edited to contrast better. I've done my best to keep as much variation as possible, bearing in mind the limitations of the biome colour system.
I've increased the proportion of trees in blossom and other seasonal colours one would expect in a decidous forest, whilst trying to mitigate against the randomness inherent in the system, ie. there will still be trees that have green, orange and red transitions all within the one tree.
Please be aware that existing worlds will still exhibit the bug where evergreen foliage is randomly mixed in with deciduous foliage, this is something Notch still has to fix. Therefore until you cut down those offending trees you will see some garish combinations of dark green cubes of evergreen foliage mixed in with orange or even rusty red trees. The problem can be fixed if you cut these down and plant new trees in their place. The new trees grow properly without mixed types of foliage. New worlds and new areas correctly draw the foliage as it should be. :smile.gif:
I would just like you to know that these triangles cost me an airship, it's contents and the contents of my backpack, when I inadvertantly clicked the right mouse button in the air. Normally I would have survived, but fate took a hand and deposited me down the only pothole in the landscape for miles around, killing me instantly!!

Cheers, they look great and we appreciate the work you've done.
Interestingly, I did the exact same thing in my airship just yesterday, and for the same reason. I was admiring the landscape, looking for sharp biome changes when I accidentally right clicked and fell into a bloody cave system that just happaned to open up right beneath my feet. The fall actually didn't kill me, the zombies did.
Given that the biome color images get loaded into a data array, I suspect their size is fixed to 256x256 regardless of your resolution. Can't say I've ever tried to make them bigger or smaller though. Someone needs to do some !!SCIENCE!! on that.

Oh dear! :sad.gif: My sympathies mate. That sickening feeling never gets any easier when you lose a full inventory. Perhaps comes as a bigger shock to the likes of anyone like me who plays on peaceful...I'm just not used to death!
Somewhere I'm hoping to find my balloon nestling in a tree, unless it's hidden down the same pothole that killed me. I must canvas pchan3 to save me from my jittery right mouse button finger. I've already fallen out at least five times and each time I've built a dirt tower to retrieve it! Lol! If I ever get round to releasing my map, anybody looking around it is going to wonder if I have a fetish for phallic towers or something!

@Glimmar: Might be a good idea to let the 32x32 be in the title ^^
I do from time to time, but there's never enough room to put it in when I've got something new to announce! :smile.gif: I keep meaning to put it at the top of the OP, but I'm old and forgetful! Lol! :biggrin.gif:

Biome triangle resolution never occurred to me. I'm a little bored with them at the mo', but it would be interesting if having more pixels did have an effect on the transition from one colour to another! Mmmmm? I suspect it's as you say, mate, that it's probably fixed. :sad.gif:
The texture pack is great and it works fine! But do you know why my water is regular? I want the cyan one :sad.gif: Help pls.
I'm assuming you've run MC Patcher by xau on my texture pack? Did you select custom water in the patcher's options? Did you move up from a 16x16 pack or from another HD pack? The patcher doesn't work properly unless you re-install Minecraft afresh, then Glimmar's Steampunk texture pack, then patch with MC Patcher.
I've only ever run Minecraft and personally tested my pack on WIndows systems, so cannot advise with confidence for other operating systems. :sad.gif:
Just wait until I start parking the airships under it.
I'm trying to imagine it, but I bet it's utterly different than my expectations. What's nice about this is that, contrary to a lot of constructions one sees in Minecraft, it has a light and flimsy feel to it, although given the fact that this is going to house airships, it somehow seems very appropriate! Looking forward to seeing it's progression.
