I've very limited space for text, so does anyone have an idea what I could stamp on there? I don't want to stamp 'TNT' if I can help it, because that detracts from it's mystery. I can only fit a max of 5 letters and the space is very tight pixel-wise for a symbol.
Maybe you could make an old style company logo out of a creeper face and stamp that on a crate.
People have to chill about this release begging! Glimmar said he'd release the terrain BEFORE the Halloween update! Which as y'all know, is this sunday = The release is coming soon!
So you all just need to relax, bathe in the bliss of the awesomeness of this Texture Pack and let Glimmar do his thing.

Minecraft Gets Central Heating - Steampunk Style......or more correctly Redstone Torches and Wiring.

Struggled all my freetime today to try and get old style tungsten tube lights to work properly...and failed. Un-activated they looked fine and glass like. As soon as the Redstone was switched on, it illuminated ok, but just went as flat as a pancake 2-dimensional and didn't look like a 3d tube at all!
So I went along the lines of brass piping with vents for the redstone steam to come out. This works pretty well and seems to interact well with it's surroundings, but no lambent neon glow, which is what I was after. When activated it still appears life-like and the steam gives a nice subtle indication that something is going on. Thanks to Triskelli again for this idea. It really saved the day!
Not so pleased with the torch though.:sad.gif: When I get more time after the Halloween changes I want to have another go at changing it to be more like an old valve type light. Any frame I put round it today, because of the red glow, made it look like a Chinese lantern!
Ice, Crops and Lava still to do, then I can upload. Crops and Ice, I may just have to leave till later, but the lava deserves at least a go. Just forgive me if it's not that wonderful!

Nearly there, folks. Please don't expect miracles from it though. None of the pics have been doctored in anyway, but I don't want to disappoint anyone...what might look good in pics might not meet up to expectations in the flesh..
Pipes look great. Isn't it possible to change the color of the redstone particles? Torch looks good too, maybe a bit on the skinny side. Consider making it like one of these.

You're telling me! The pipes turned out brilliantly, and the redstone torches do look amazin', but a tad out of place I agree. Thanks for the second shout-out, I'm glad to help in any way I can. My idea still stands of making the redstone torches into pressure valves, but you do what looks right.
My biggest fear about this pack isn't that it won't live up to expectations, but that we'll only be able to use it for a few days before the Halloween update makes it obsolete.
Love the pipes man, I will definitely get a use out of those for adding decorative touches..

I was kind of bummed about turning 30 this week. But, when you release this pack, it will probably be my best birthday ever. The pipes are great, and icing on the cake.
Glimmar, you are an artist of wonderful potential and I love your expressions of Steampunk through the medium of Minecraft.

I haven't seen any modding to tools so this is more of a if you decide to redesign the tools/weapons, could you replace the bow with a flintlock pistol? I think it would fit nicely with the rest of your pack.
Normal torches are good imho but the redstone "pipes" I think should have white steam or smoke, the red looks like some scientist's brainwash serum :wink.gif:
I personally think the torches should stay as a green "lanterns" not red, but perhaps a blue or cyan (light blue)

I think I ran out of superlatives.... However it does continue to grow and evolve most pleasingly to my eye, I'm getting quite giddy with anticipation, I am now considering a suitably Edwardian or Victorian skin for my diminutive mining chappie, complete with obligatory handlebar moustache naturally :wink.gif:
i was browsing minepedia on the subject of the halloween update and it said there would be new block types in hell, so releasing this so close to the halloween update would cause a problem wouldnt it? there would need to be an update to cover these new blocks. i am highly anticipant of the release of this texture pack, but i am willing to wait till it is complete to the artists specifications... as an artist using pen ans pencil, i run through lots of paper and erasers before i get sometimes the first line done, self critisizm sux... so take this to jumpstart the crative juices

I was thinking of something like this:
