You can adjust the hue in paint.net too (you said that you used its color replacement tool). You go to Adjustments and click Hue / Saturation. Then you just mess with the sliders.
Just came across an interesting article about a mansion which was essentially a time capsule which has just been reopened. The owner had stated that he wanted it to be opened to the public 100 years after his death in 1905. The article has a number of pics in it which I think may offer some inspiration. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news ... e-mansion/
Secret project just say Gyrocopter ! haha and have ya found your dwarven one in the attic yet?
Lol feel like the answering lady on my YT vid haha still almost at 1,000 views per day bit scary for something I did improp ^^
Really like all the Input by you clever people! Might change the glowstone sometime now with that choices..
No, no! It's not the Gyrocopter! He has mentioned the thing I've been working on (not that big really!), but it's definately still to do with the airship. How I'll find time to do a gyrocopter, I don't know! Getting pretty tired now with too many late nights.

It should be, shouldn't it. I've always been happy with Notch's portal, but it would be nice if someone could show me how to make it glowing green rather than purple, but I'm happy with the contrast! :smile.gif:
I've no experience with animation, so it would be a considerable investment of time for me to add moving cogs, etc, when I'm already stretched pretty thin! To keep my interest I have to work on things that enthuse me and at this moment in time it's pchan3's Steampunk vehicles and finishing my 'item' icons off. After that, I may shift my attention to the gui icons and armour, but being the 'arty' type I'm not very methodical, so leap all over the place (only metaphorically! ). Also add Notch, this thread, a family and work into the equation and I've only so much time. :sad.gif:
Quote from MetroFan180 »
What is the bed exactly supposed to be? The time machine idea?
Lay on it...activate it...travel into the future! Current Steampunk tech means you reappear when the sun rises.
Our alchemical scientists are looking into the 'sunrise' phenomenon to time travel and at present consider it is something to do with the gravitational force of the sun acting on the 'calculating engine's' gears deep within the bed.
On a lighter note, most of what I do for Glimmar's Steampunk is based upon the idea that 'why have just one purpose for an item, block, etc. when it could potentially have many uses (albeit purely decorative). Hence the craftbench can be both a craft bench, a scanner, a control terminal, a floor tile, etc. Likewise, the bed, can be a bed, a time machine, a floor grate, a torture table for dark megalomaniacs, a submarine torpedo launching platform, some other esoteric Steampunk machine, etc, infact whatever your imagination wants it to be!
Now If it just looked like a bed, I'd only really be able to use it 'as' a bed...or it would look pretty weird, stuck on the outside of a dirigible as an 'atitude control' engine! :biggrin.gif:
Like the rest of the limited building blocks Notch has blessed us with, that we all attempt to use in ever imaginative ways, I'm trying to make the most out of every item, within reason! And don't forget...this is 'Steampunk' ...things will be made with that theme in mind, so they're bound to be wacky and weird with lots of bits and pieces tacked on! It's up to you and your imagination to put it to good use!
Sorry it turned into a bit of a lecture, but no doubt on the next page someone else will ask the same question and I can save myself the time by directing them here! :smile.gif:
Mmm, torture table! Great for my evil experimenting catacombs. :3
Yay for Warhammer vs Cthulhu! There's a lot of mileage in both theme's for building inspiration.
and a side project tex pack *evil laugh*
in other news...Spider's got legs now (finally)
Look at the fangs on that thing! It absolutely needs to feature in a dramatic movie! Looks wonderful! What does it look like at night?
We needs lots of robotic steampunk creatures now...Oh!..Oh!..Warhammer machines too!
Isn't there a thread asking if there's interest in starting a Warhammer texture pack?
Also, is it possible to build in an outerspace setting? Perhaps with the Biome Editor thingy or something similar. I suppose it would be possible to Photoshop a starfield background around a vast starship construction.
I fancy making some new metal texture blocks for relaxation. :smile.gif: That spider has reminded me I'd promised BoneHead a while back that I would be doing some! This Minecraft thing is a bottomless pit for ideas.
Last thing...how many times you going to be changing that avatar of yours? This one's the best so far though, but you're like a flipp'n shape shifter! . :biggrin.gif:
Hey Glimmar, I just wanted to inform you that History is using some of your items (minecart, boat, watch inks, buckets, painting, cake, and blowtorch. Also, the leather armor and many of the weapons look like slightly edited versions of yours). Just seeing if this was warented by you, or if they we're contributions, if the original makers knew.

Could I have a link please, ssaint. I'm not sure who 'History' is! Thanks, mate. :smile.gif:
Yes he is using a large number of my new items, without having asked permission or giving any credit in his OP! I will have a quiet PM word first and see what his response is! Thanks mate!

LoL!
That's some bit of questions and excitement in that. My brain is tired today from actual real work too (for a change). But an all in one answer is...
I AM doin a 40k pack (will make a thread when it's about done texture wise), I also have a ton of new textures I did while fartin around for metal and such, the outerspace thing will only work with a mod (I've tried to alter every other file that doesn't require coding...no dice) but I could SOOO do a PS thing , and I have no idea what you mean about my avatar....really...none *evil grin*

Hey there
im pretty new to the whole texture pack stuff but im makin a bioshock-esque tp and was wondering if i could borrow the odd texture here and there
when i make the post ill be sure to give you credit where its due =]
By all means, mate. With due credit of course in the 'OP' and 'readme'. (especially If my textures are still in your pack when you get to the stage of uploading). If you use my graphics in a major way I would expect a correspondingly large credit too! Lol!
Also, if you decide to ask for donations at some stage in the future, you would need to remove my graphics before doing so, as I currently don't ask for anything in return for my labours! :smile.gif:

Flip! It's changed again!!
I'm lookin' forward to your take on all things 40k then. It will be enormously popular, but just watch out for those cease and desist orders! Lol. Only joking. :biggrin.gif:
