Love the pack, still. Airship is freaking amazing, also. Coolest. Idea. Ever.
Suggestions from a humble fan:
- Different Victorian patterns on the colored wool would really give some snazzy flavor to things. I know it's only 32x32, but still, imagine something like:
- In fact, I'm tempted to suggest to downplay the steampunk slightly and get more period-themed stuff. For instance, the bed. Cool stuff, but wow. Maybe that should be in the optional textures. It's over-the-top cool, but still, over-the-top. =)
That's my two cents, anyway. Keep up the good work! I'm always excited to see what you add every week, you update more than Notch!!
I've decided that since with this texture pack the bed is a time machine and the cake is a medical doohicky, etc. that there should also be custom tooltips for items that have been changed. I am in the process of working on it right now, and if Glimmar is interested in this I will gladly email him my work.
I would be very interested in that, mate. Thanks so much for your time. Due credit will be given if I can use it.
I have been thinking that this is necessary as well. And in case you did not know Glimmar, all you need to do is open the lang\en_US.lang file in a text editor and change the names of items and blocks.
Thanks, Nethellus and nerdboy64. I have my head so far into other things all the time, I never get the chance to tinker with some of the things I probably aught to! I shall have a gander (look)! Thanks you two.

I have been seeing several texture packs post the number of times their pack has been downloaded. Glimmar do you have any idea how many times your pack has been downloaded? I was just curious.
To tell you the truth I try really hard not to look, as I imagine it's probably only one or two, and I'm afraid to find out my fears are true. That would be far too depressing. I know I never pop up in polls when people start threads asking for what their favourite texture pack is. :sad.gif:
I content myself with the fact that a good number of the people who I've made friends with on here, still pop in and say nice things. That's good enough to keep me churning stuff out! :smile.gif:

This has been a KPWN creative editorial. The views expressed in the video are tah of an insane group of individuals and I cannot be held responsible. Any resemblance to anything or anyone real is merely hallucinogenic.
Ha ha! I knew 'TVHead' was you! Lol! and the above vid is utterly, brilliantly hilarious!
Can I please use it up in the OP, mate?

Just had a bit more progress. The above image shows the torpedo room, the middle pic is of the main bridge with periscope showing ( handles up ), and the bottom pic is of the engine room with my honkin V6 diesel which I'm still working on.
Cool textures. It's a shame that the game changed to where you can't use the redstone dust anymore.
When Notch first introduced the coloured cloths someone posted some 32x32 coloured patterns as alternatives, using the exact same wallpaper as you posted there. I've been meaning to add them to the file of alternatives, but, well you know how much I jump all over the place! Lol!
Sometime I may make a trad. Victorian bed, especially as I've just now found out you can sort of stick two beds together to make something a bit grander, but the Time Machine bed is still staying I'm afraid. Being steampunk it has to lean more towards the gadgety gizmo rather than just Victoriana. However i agree, given time there should always be alternatives within the theme of the Victorian age. Given the limited number of items we have to play around with for epic constructions, I always have a tendency to go for the extreme 'machine' in everything!
...something modest... I know I never pop up in polls when people start threads asking for what their favourite texture pack is. :sad.gif:
That is probably because everyone who uses this pack is too busy keeping up with this thread. They don't have enough time to check other peoples threads. 116 pages is a lot. I know whenever I am on these forums I just check your thread.
That's cheered me up no-end, you two. It's nice to start the week on a positive note. I guess I just keep my nose to the grindstone (flywheel. ha ha!) too much to notice. Thanks for taking the trouble to post those links.
Hey Gimmer, Im getting a problem. The water or lava dont move, Is it becuase im playing on fast graphic's? Do i need to play on fancy to make them move?
I'm not to sure on that one, as I always play on fancy. Hang on let me just check! Nope, it's not that. Mine still animates whether fast or fancy.
Have you patched properly with the latest MC patcher (link on 1st page) and have you checked the settings in the patcher for water and lava, etc. If you find out your copy of the MC Patcher is an old one, then you'll need to redownload Minecraft and run the newest version of the patcher to be on the safe side. Hope you get it sorted, mate. It really shouldn't be a problem. :smile.gif:
I do have the latest verison, Is 1.1.12_02. I have A water/lava/fire on and custom
water/lava on.
Well that's a weird one, Daniel! I have it running on three different setups here and no problems, but they're all WIndows systems (XP, Vista and 7). After saving your worlds, you could try deleting you Minecraft bin file to make sure everything truly is clean and free of previous mods and patcher influence. Other than that, I can't really explain what's happening, mate! :sad.gif:
Mayhap someone else has some suggestions. :smile.gif:
Sorry, I haven't been on for the past few days because I've been under the weather: let me address a few things that have come up in my absence:
First off: Love the "Time-traveling" bed, Glim. I'll be sure to hook one up to my doomfort as soon as I can.
Secondly: CURSE YOU WOODMAN! How DARE you make a Nautilus more awesome than mine! It makes me MAD!
Thirdly: Wow, can't believe that's where you work, StugAce! Nice pictures!
Fourthly: Love the video, Gestankfaust. Or should I say TVHead? Bah, it got a chuckle out of me either way. Keep up the excellent history of filmography and you'll go places.
@ Triskelli: Sorry to hear you've not been well...missed your input, mate! Glad you like the 'Time Machine' bed. Us megalomaniacs have to stick together when it comes to over-the-top bed design. No fluffy comfy beds when it comes to ruling the world. MWahahahaha! Besides which, it makes a cool looking grate in the floor too!
Anyways...another airship balloon colour:
Green Balloon for pchan3 airship mk2
Rename to 'balloon' then follow pchan's instructions for installation.
I'm a bit of a Jules Verne fan myself so I made a tribute to the Nautilus. I've taken quite a few liberties with the interior, but tried to stay close to the basic shape for the exterior. These textures are perfect for this kind of Minecraftin'. The ship is currently in drydock undergoing repairs.
why is it i cant see the awesome sun from the texture pack unless im looking at it from underwater the moon appears all right so why cant the sun appear???
The sun in all texture packs is glaringly bright during the day so you'll normally only see a white centre and coloured corona (in my texture pack it's strangely pink). Best time to see it in all it's glory is sunrise or sunset. That's perfect normal behaviour. If something else is going on, like you are just not seeing any sun at all at any time of day, then I haven't really got an answer.
Any chance of a pic of what you're seeing that doesn't look right? Otherwise we're only talking subjectively here. :smile.gif:
The pic below illustrates what you should be seeing:
Blue Balloon for pchan3 airship mk2
Rename to 'balloon' then follow pchan's instructions for installation.
More balloon theme and colour variations to follow. Other designs in thread/OP above or here:Pchan3's Steampunk Styled Airship
thanks i was just wondering if mine had something wrong
It doesn't sound like it's wrong then. I was strangely perplexed too when I first saw my sun texture from underwater. I think it's just one of those quirks of Minecraft where Notch's coded solar 'glare' is cancelled out when seen through water. :smile.gif: Glad all is well.
I wish there were more hours in the day, 'cos on top of everything else I'd love to experiment further with the sun and moon.
64x64 Skins for 16x16 Texture Packs for pchan3 Airship Mk2 For those wishing to remain true to standard sized Minecraft's 16x16 textures.
Rename to 'airship' and 'balloon' respectively then follow pchan's instructions for installation (basically drop these two skins into the 'item' folder in the minecraft.jar
Just want to see how many of my fellow Steampunks have tried out the new "seed" ability for world generation. I must say that it is quite the jump to be able to share the exact same starting worlds so easily now. And if anyone wants a rugged, dry, and craggy land to start anew on, try "Glimmar". I've seen sand-draped mountains, vast domed caves and pools of magma bared on the surface! Worth a look, definitely.

Ha! I'd never thought to use my Minecraft name! Lol! That landscape kind of sums me up.
Red Minecart Variation for Glimmar's Steampunk
Rename to 'cart' and place in the 'item' folder in Glimmar's Steampunk Texture Pack. Suitable coloured icons for the 'item' sheet. You'll need to paste these in yourself! :smile.gif:
More cart colour variations to follow if there's interest.

Those interior pics are fantastic and I love the use you've put all the utilitarian paintings to.
I agree with you about the redstone. Quite a few other people in other texture pack threads have expressed their concern here:

You are getting some recognition. I've come across a number of lists with yours in it, along with one where your pack was rated #1. Here's a sampling:
