My son, the traitor, is currently exclusively playing with your texture pack at the moment and constantly showing me all his constructions. Most of my impressions of other texture packs come through him, as trying to keep up with new stuff for Glimmar's Steampunk saps all my spare time, so I'm very impressed by the Roman...ness of your pack, mate. He's loving it along with a 'Cooking' mod and I'm enjoying the look of it immensely!

So, decided to try out the airship mod and I'm really liking it so far. While I was at it, I also added a couple other mods (namely Mo' Creatures), and I was thinking that someone could probably make some alternate, Steampunk skins for the creatures added in the pack. The first thing that comes to mind is steampunkifying the sharks, maybe using the sharks from the James and the Giant Peach movie as inspiration. I'd love to take a shot at this myself if I can find some free time, but I'm currently swamped with schoolwork.
would you release a version with one colored grass (green) so its not grey for me? i even tried a clean .jar.

i looked into the stuff with the mods, i found that fancy pack is turning the grass grey. I installed a fresh copy of minecraft and started from scratch and it is most definitely fancy pack that is conflicting with better light/grass and it isn't this texture pack :tongue.gif:

Yes it is very unfortunately true, I hope for one day in the near future where all my favorite mods
will be able to frolic about in my favorite Minecraft world save. But as for now I can do very happily

Many thanks, mate! When I see peeps enjoying stuff and getting inspired to build more, it's all the thanks I need. That airship is such fun, as is amply illustrated in your excellent vid!
Many more designs to follow and now the skin template is out of the bag, it'll be open house, I'm sure, for all sorts of weird and wonderful designs. I'm kindof going to hold back a bit, because of pchan's intention to increase the amount of canvas that I can work in. So always interesting times with Minecraft.
As regards the railway I suppose as a means of quick convenient travel it is kind of slightly obsolete, but from an aesthetic and mass goods point of view, it's still got it's unique qualities...until someone invents cargo ships. Also don't forget that pchan3 hopes to make a steam train too, and who in their right mind is going to turn down a ride in, and the sight of, a steam train. Minecraft never ceases to amaze and inspire me! Many thanks to Notch and all those clever modders like pchan who constantly refresh and widen it's appeal. I too am so looking forward to a proper mod system, where everything hangs together smoothly! :smile.gif:

Glimmar, feel free to post those downloadable schematics (from page 107) on the front page for people who want a 'jumpstart' so to speak. I imagine they can be modified to become some pretty impressive things.

I've got my airship and 'more paintings' bin file safely stored away for sanity's sake!
Does the new launcher effect anything? Isn't the update scheduled for tomorrow? Oh well, I'm out at the hospital for most of the day tomorrow, so I'll creep back in and see what the damage is, if the update is then.
Seems that it's jut the new launcher. MC.net is mostly down today, but this lets you log in and get news and patch or not. Really just a new MC.exe. When the MC server is up, nothing else will have changed yet.

For the ladders all props go to Gestankfaust. I was complaining about how Glimmar's ladder didn't look as steampunky as I wanted it(sorry Glimmar, nothing but love) and Gestankfaust was up to the task.
