OOH! I read that one a few years back. Mievelle is fantastic at creating completely new worlds, but the Bas-Lag series is unapologetically dark, and one/two chapters in each are dedicated to nasty sex with something weird. If you're just looking for sci-fi inspiration, just skip those sections: Nothing in the plot is lost by doing so. If you want to stretch your imagination, Perdido Street Station is the book to read.
But the buildings... There's the titular station itself, the Constructs' junkyard, the Cactus mens' terrarium... Gah, I remembered less than I thought I would. Still, would love to know how far you're into it Glimm, and what you think so far. Armada would be an interesting project to undertake for a group of dedicated builders, from the second novel. (A floating city run by pirates created by hundreds of ships lashed together.)

The leather armor feels too "cowboy" to me. I would like to see something along the lines of a blacksmith's apron. I'm no good with textures, myself, so I will just leave this here and see if anything comes of it.
The leather armour belongs to Vondell. I'll get round to doing some armour eventually, Lol! I like the workshop apron idea though! :Diamond:. I just don't have much time now, but bit by slow bit I'll be moving through the entire pack. Hopefully my interest in the task at hand won't wane. :smile.gif:

Another idea for your 'tinker' mind, 'cos I'm snowed under with RL at the mo', would be coggy machinary under the surface slowly being revealed. Then when the block breaks it would look like springs and cogs bouncing all over. Sometime I'll have a tinker too with that idea!

Tried the cogs and they wouldn't show enough detail. You can use color, but I chose to keep them all gray scale for starters. But you just couldn't tell what was happening with the cogs one. It only uses the eight sections and they have to be aligned within the 32x32 pixel sections just right. So fading from nothing to something limits you for starters, then with only 8 sections, it limits real movement.

Does it appear gray in all biomes or just in a specific one? If you look at the grass color chart for this pack, it does change it to a gray for a few areas (arctic biomes, if I recall correctly). Have you checked it out in various different biomes? And does it appear this way in different worlds, or just in one?

So, I think when I get a bit of free time, I'll make an item for the blunderbuss, jurryrigged pistol, and possibly the handcannon, if I knew what it did, or how to make it.

Are you also using the Wild Grass mod? Some versions of this mod cause/d the sides of grass in Mr Messiah's Better grass mod to turn grey, but that's the only instance I'm familiar with. That effect would happen with any texture pack assuming you are using BL, BG and Wild Grass. :smile.gif:

I haven't tried the mod yet. There isn't anywhere near time enough to try out all the mods I'd like to, build, texture, breath and sleep. I think I need to retire from texturing sometime and just enjoy playing, Lol! Was it as good as it sounds? I look forward to seeing your versions, mate.

I actually quite enjoyed it, the weapons aren't too overpowered, though they do kill really fast (instantly?). The reloading process of having to stop after each shot to place another bit of gunpowder and shot in is really nice as well, as the way you actually have to tend to and repair the guns. The costs are pretty steep, but for the power it gives you, it can seem worth it at times. Also, a bit of a simple joy, but I really like the sounds. Also, I couldn't help but laugh when my first pistol exploded right in my hands, it's actually quite enjoyable. The blunderbuss is pretty nice as well, with a nice, wide shot, with extra types to choose from (gravel-scattered shot, obsidian-a high powered slug, netherrack-incendiary buckshot). Overall, I actually like it better than SDK's gun mod, and will definitely keep tabs on updated versions.

Then one of those is probably conflicting with Mr Messiah's BetterGrass mod, is my best guess! Have you used all these mods with another texture pack? My pack does not include any mods other than standard 32x32 textures and it does work fine with BetterLight and BetterGrass without any interference with the sides of grass. Have you tried a process of elimination? Time consuming, but probably necessary in this case.
As you will see in most texture pack OP's, as artists...not coders, we can give a few suggestions that may help, but we can't be expected to solve every problem arising from use of multiple mods by other authors. There are too many variables involved...that's why I may recommend a mod, but I would never consider including another mod with the pack. My pack other than style, is no different than any other 32x32 texture pack. I wish I could give you a simple answer to the problem you are experiencing, mate, and solve your problem, but I'll have to throw this open to others who might be able to suggest something else. Glimmar, I absolutely love this texture pack. Your artistic ability is incredible. Not only does this work with steampunk structures, but it also works for medieval structures, atleast, for me. I love the ores aswell, especially the iron ore!

Hand Cannon is relatively like the blunderbuss but with more ammo, damage, and bullets. And maybe more distance too.
