I friggin' love this texture pack, but I only have one question. Before I downloaded this, I had modified the default art texture to replace one of the designs with a flag, as my castle has a gigantic flagpole towering over it so I can find it easily. When I tried to edit the flag into this texture pack, the design is gone, and my flag looks quite silly now as it's a large stained glass window on one side, and gears on the other. Is there any way I could still use my flag design in this?
Of course! It should be pretty straight forward. :smile.gif:
Are you editing the basic kz.png file or the 'Xtreme' kz.png? Either way it should be an easy job to replace, so long as you get it in the right place on whichever file you are working. When you save the file as a .png file, where are you putting it? If you are putting it straight into the minecraft.jar file instead of replacing the kz.png file in my texture pack, then it'll get over-ridden each time by the texture pack kz.png file.
Whatever you replace should always show up...if it's in the right place on the kz.png file, and if the saved file is saved back to the appropriate place in the 'art' file in Glimmar's Steampunk texture pack...and assuming my texture pack is in the texture pack folder in Minecraft. :smile.gif:
One thing for sure, none of my paintings can be seen from behind, as the usual 'wood backing' texture has been deleted (top right corner), so you must be doing something out of the ordinary to get stained glass windows on one side and gears on the other! A bit mystified about that.
I was working with my son on 'Glimmar's World' the other day, when he came out with that oft used phrase, "I can't think of what to build next!"
The following, a result of our subsequent brainstorming session, is not an exhaustive list of how to construct something, but If you are stuck for what to build in a 'Steampunk World' or just need a little quick inspiration, take a look at our growing 'things to build' list.
I'll keep adding to it from time to time, but I'm sure you can probably think of a lot more on the theme of Steampunk, let me know and if appropriate I'll add it to the list. I'll put it in the OP at the top soon, for all to reference when you're suffering from the dreaded 'builder's block'!
A Steampunk's 'Things to Build' List Gatehouse, moat, tower, bathhouse, sauna, engine-room, pump-house, forge/blacksmith shop, workshop, great hall, kitchens, pantry, informal garden, formal garden, various crop fields with farms, fields for domestic animals, fountains, boat house, river caves, canals, aquaducts, viaducts, sewers, monuments, various collosi, bedrooms, various road types, paths, tree lined avenues, greenhouses, conservatory, glass houses, domes, minarets, vaults/treasury, balcony, armoury, arches, arched avenues, beacon towers, light house, cemetary, memorials, churches, cathedrals, waterfalls, traps, hovels, houses, mansions, apartments, secret garden, canals, rivers with naturally planted river banks, plantations, strange forests, jungles, swamps, archery/rifle range, colloseum, arenas, gallery, railways, small stations, large railway stations, docks, harbours, quays, railway bridges, foot bridges, wells, ponds, formal water gardens, cascades, mausoleum, irrigation, log flume, saw mill, flour mill, bakery, various shops, alchemist's shop, fair, factory chimneys, barn, warehouse, maze, museum, library, laboratory, temple, wooden sailing ship, iron sailing ship, submarine, marine base, marine city, underwater walkway, hidden tunnels and secret entrances. alleyways, slums, cranes, dams, piers, observatory, airships, airship hangers, airship stations, lamp stands, mine pump house and wheel tower, ruins,
No attempt has been made to categorise anything, but if it grows to a stupendous size I might consider doing so! :smile.gif:

Awesome list. I get that "what next" phrase sometimes as well.
@ Kaine7577 & ssaint: I'm glad the 'Things to Build' list has already been useful. If you think of anything else be sure to post and let me know. :smile.gif:
I need to go back through the book I'm reading at the moment, 'Perdido Street Station', and check out any locations and unique buildings that could be useful. :smile.gif:

OOH! I read that one a few years back. Mievelle is fantastic at creating completely new worlds, but the Bas-Lag series is unapologetically dark, and one/two chapters in each are dedicated to nasty sex with something weird. If you're just looking for sci-fi inspiration, just skip those sections: Nothing in the plot is lost by doing so. If you want to stretch your imagination, Perdido Street Station is the book to read.
But the buildings... There's the titular station itself, the Constructs' junkyard, the Cactus mens' terrarium... Gah, I remembered less than I thought I would. Still, would love to know how far you're into it Glimm, and what you think so far. Armada would be an interesting project to undertake for a group of dedicated builders, from the second novel. (A floating city run by pirates created by hundreds of ships lashed together.)
The leather armor feels too "cowboy" to me. I would like to see something along the lines of a blacksmith's apron. I'm no good with textures, myself, so I will just leave this here and see if anything comes of it.
Humm guess I will need to find another warp as MyWarp keeps doing strange things like after setting a warp and I try to go back to it I wind up have in and half out of the ground etc.
It's been a few pages since I gave a "Tinkerers" contribution...so here ya go...
These have to be directly pasted onto the progress bars on your terrain.png (the gray rectangle of cracks along the bottom)...so if you are not into doin that (or don't have ability), then there's not much I can do but say "yer missin out".
:tongue.gif:
*note...these are just to replace the progress "cracks" that appear when breaking stuff in MC. Not needed...but are fun to change

If by "file", you mean the zip file, just add it to the texture pack folder. If you can't drag and drop it there, just copy/paste it, patch it with the HD fix located on page one of this thread, then you should be ready to play.

I did a personal version of the Insane Pictures file, its not much, just a combination of Tiger4Ruler and Glimmar's Xtreme files plus a bunch of pictures off Google, I'm not creative enough in this particular branch of art to make my own. :/
When mods add items to the game, the items seem to be invisible when I am using this texture pack.
If said mod's items are inside of the original items.png, you'll have to manually add them in by hand, likely resizing as well. If they are in a separate folder, you will likely have to resize them. Hopefully this helped.
Yay, it works now! Thanks!

Curse PremiumThis is on my server so that won't be a problem. Just need to find the mod now.
Which server are you using minecraft, bukkit.... ?
CuZnDragon
It is called "Movecraft" and it is a bukkit plugin. You can find it on the bukkit forums. In fact, I have a link right here.http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/mech-fun-movecraft-v0-6-5.1007/.

Did you mean 32x32? If so then yes it is. Sorry you can't enjoy the awesomeness that is this pack.
