I'm off to look at your album while I wait for the vids from Pjpuas and Gestankfaust!
Well I was a little depressed at all the probs with my release on Friday, but I'm proper cheered up now at the sight of all this epicness! :smile.gif:
I'd say epicness is very much appropriate. As for the videos, the first one says it'll be done uploading in roughly
two hours. Now you may be asking yourself: Why is it taking so long?
Well the answer is because the first video, even though it is only 5 mins and 29 secs long,
is a whopping 3.9 gigs. The sad part is that it is a two parter. The second video is 4 mins
and 25 secs, and weighs in at 3.03 gigs.
Some may think its a bit excessive, but its the only way i could do your texture pack some justice.
I will admit, it came out a bit dark though. Its rather odd, because its not nearly as dark while I'm playing it live.
Dont fret though; I have not forgotten the videos, I will post them here as soon as they are available.
That's really strange! I always play in full screen (1920x1200) and doesn't appear for me. I've re-installed a few times this afternoon and re-patched and it still doesn't appear for me. I've checked the 'icons.png' file completely zoomed in and cannot see any line at all! See if you still get it with the next version of the pack (I'll upload a test version tonight if I get the time). Could you look into the file yourself or give me a screenshot? Have you uninstalled Minecraft and started from scratch? I don't want to put you to a lot of trouble, but I can't advise any more than that. :smile.gif:
I have installed 1.8.1 clean with my normal mods so it could be Linux version of java, video card, or one of the mods causing it.

You could try dropping Tiger4Ruler's edited icons.png file (a few posts above) into the zip, or just delete the file from my texture pack. I've just realized this is the first time I've included the icons.png in my texture pack, but it's just a straight forward copy of Notch's, but with the cross hair reduced to a dot. I wonder if I'm supposed to change the icons.png file to 512x512 pixels, however Tiger's is just 256x256 like mine?
Now to add to the mystery I've just used Tiger's edit in my pack and there's no purple line, so that's good, but when I compare my icon's file with his by size, his is nearly 5kb and mine is around 2kb, yet when I load them up in Gimp they are both exactly the same and no different in terms of transparency layers, etc. I think I'll put Tiger's in the pack to be on the safe side, incase others are getting the same problem as yourselves. Any chance you could try Tiger's icons.png out and confirm if it fixes or not? I'll hold off until tomorrow to put the 1.8.1 up at the top.

Hooray! The first part finally finished uploading and is finally ready for all to see.

Jumped the gun, video not yet processed, it should be soon though...

The mystery of the purple line!
Putting Tiger's icon file gets rid of the purple line under the cross hair.
When I bring the two up in GIMP at 800% he erased the purple under the cross by one more pixel.
NEW SIGNATURES! I whipped these up since I was a little bored. First time really doing any photoshop work like this, and I'm not too happy with how the layer mask turned out. Tell me what you think (all are very much a work-in-progress, more concept pictures than final products). Some of my concerns:
Readability of the main text
Look of the background tiles (behind the GLIMMAR'S STEAMPUNK)
Size of the image (currently it is the largest you can get without putting scrollbars in your signature)
What the crap to do with the far right...
Number 3's text is a placeholder; if you have a font you think would work well (current one definitely doesn't) let me know. The positioning on it is crap as well
I'm partial to number 4, but as you can tell I'm having trouble figuring out what to do with the space.

Well, mystery on mystery of the purple line!
The following is a pic of the icons.png file from a freshly downloaded copy of Glimmar's Steampunk v1.8 opened up in Gimp at about 6,000% and as you can see no purple line (I promise no trick editing or anything!).
This is exactly the same image I get for Tiger's. I'm just wondering if the original icons.png file in the minecraft.jar file is somehow interfering with it.
It's probably not worth the effort to investigate now, as you've got it easily fixed, but I wonder if it appears in the zip file before or after patching with zau's MC Patcher? I just can't explain how you and Tiger got a purple line under the cross hair. I'm assuming your crosshair was just a dot? If it was a cross, then that would indicate the game is using it's own icons.png file in the minecraft.jar. It's got me stumped!
Oh well, I'll just drop Tiger's icons file into the zip instead and hope for the best. If someone reports a purple line from that, I'll have to assume it's a glitch in the way it gets zipped or downloaded.
Thanks, CuZnDragon. :smile.gif:
@ Trigonious: Very nice signatures, mate! I'll have to keep using my own I think, because it's probably become associated (for better or worse!) with the pack. However, when i look at the large lettering for 'Glimmar's Steampunk' it kind of suggests they've been burned in or cut through with a welding torch. They might stand out more and add greater depth, if the edges were still glowing red/orange and you can properly see through, just a thought, but you've done a great job so far and my favourites are the 2nd and the last one.
If you get them finished to your liking I could perhaps add them to the 'extras' folder in the pack for folks to use in their own sigs if they wanted to. :smile.gif:
'tis the greatest of mysteries, fitting for a Victorian sci-fi theme pack. Lol! Personally I think Tiger and CuZnDragon are in league with each other in a plot to drive me insane!
Anyway, I think I'm safe in putting version 1.8.1 up at the top now and advertising it's release! ....or am I? [spoken with a mysterious, deep and gravelly voice]
Coming soon... 'The Return of the Thin Purple Line!!!'

This is what it looks like in-game. Also, a preview of what's to come in my world :tongue.gif:
ReaperofDeath, that house is absolutely gorgeous! Can I see the plans, or a few more pictures, so I can make something like it? Also, how did you get SimpleMap to be circular? I really like that.
