I'm so stealing that old terrain file for use on PipeWorld :biggrin.gif:
Lol! You...you, thief, you!! Actually all my old terrain files are still up further back in the thread, but the old one on this page probably has everything on it from previous versions. This will form the basis for a file of alternative terrain textures that I can just keep adding and dipping into! As mentioned I'll do something similar for items and all Tlos's stuff too. Everything will just get crammed on with credits below. I think that's going to be the easiest way of presenting and managing it for the future.
Thanks again, mate for putting that skin pack together. I'll put your most up-to-date pack up in the OP too.
Speaking of PipeWorld. What amazing things are happening there at the moment? I'm suspecting and hoping all sorts of marvellous constructions are coming to fruition, judging by PipeHead's mysterious disappearance. You've not all sent him off in some weird 'H G Wellsian' construct to some far future world of scantily clad humanoids?
Hey, Glimmar. I just wanted to say that (at least in mine), the armors are called cloth1.png and cloth2.png, but to work, they have to be called cloth_1.png and cloth_2.png. I'm going to assume that the reason it was missing an underscore is that imageshack removes them.
Also, when holding the gold sword, you get a piece of the diamond sword with it, just four pixels floating in midair. Easy enough for me to fix, but I thought I'd let you know.
Edit: I need to start reading the posts above mine more carefully...

We are MAD...MAD I TELL YOU!! (mad crazy that is)
:biggrin.gif:
Building up a storm. Finishing the video for the bridges/railway now. As well as a video tour of "My Glimmar 1.8". Then we have two more videos to come shortly after (about a week apart so's you can catch a breath)
*Note on "My Glimmar"....I added some of your old stuff and added one or two of my own for building asthetics. My buildings go well with your pack. Even though I built them with mine. So the subtle changes I made for this (and some of the Pipeworld stuff make it mesh nicely.
I redid yer pumpkinz...haha!
(we wanted another control panel...one that lights up when "in use")

All right, stained glass, second go. I'm extremely happy with how these are turning out, although I'd say they are mostly more Victorian than steampunk - any ideas to make a few more steampunked textures are welcome.
In the 1.8 you are still missing one 4x4 painting in the regular art file. I replaced it with the organ just because I had already used it in my house.

Who would of thought that running a server even as small as mine could be so time intensive! We have only like 5 regulars, but with the rapid state of development that Bukkit is in plus my latest construction project, the underground Hippodrome from the old Byzantine Empire, I've only been lurking these threads, waiting patiently for the release of 1.8.
G-man, as I affectionately call Gestankfaust, is putting together some of the most epic movies both as showcases for your TP and for PipeWorld.
I fear I have veered wildly away from anything even remotely Steampunk at the moment. Undercity didn't turn out as steampunky as I wanted it, but it's still a beautifully built city by a group of really awesome folks. We are now working on our individual homes so we can showcase our unique building styles. I must say Harpspiel, G-man and Kendawg11 have some exemplary specimens.
And I hear VolgarTheMighty is about to unleash some large building project...so yes, I......we have been busy.
The "1.8" video is done and packs a whoppin half a gig in size at almost 6 minutes. Look for it early tomorrow....as I'll have to upload it when it doesn't kill my lame bandwidth

"This may hurt a little, but it's something you'll get used to...."
I just want to say great pack. I've been using it for the past week or so and I LOVE it. However, I did come across another minor error in the new item sheet. The compass is about 3 pixels off. It just needs to be nudged up a bit and it works fine. I also thought I saw something with the leather (a couple pixels appearing above the top of it), but I'm not sure if that's from the update or from my replacing of textures.
I haven't tested all the other items, so I wouldn't know about any other such glitches, but I'll keep my eye out.
Just tried the pack for the first time, very cool. Changes the whole feel of minecraft. Now I've just got to think of something creative to do wth it XD
As stated above, there were a couple hiccups in the items.png. I edited one to use for myself and figured I'd post it here. All the items changed are tested, and just about all the others. Changes were done in GIMP with the grid lines on (remember to turn on those grid lines people )
There is a lesson here, folks. Never...just never...release a pack at 3.00 in the morning after a week of sleep deprivation, because however much you think you've checked things, you only end up staring at them! I'm spending way too much time on this game and neglecting other necessary activities...like sleep and family. I had a lot to do in RL this weekend too, but popping in and seeing all the probs obviously can't be ignored. Sorry everyone! :sad.gif:
Right, here goes:
@ Tlos: I'll use your item sheet edit and check that compass position, according to ksheeps observations it needs to be moved up about 3 pixels (I was just following Vondells instructions before release to position at bottom centre of the 32x32 box and I was getting tired of entering Minecraft for the nth millionth time to check the position of something). Can anyone confirm this...Vondell? I'll check the 'leather' item too!
@ Vondell: Sorry for the glitches on presenting your leather armour, mate. :sad.gif: Again, my only excuse is sleep deprivation. As you know I corrected the name of the folder, straight after release when you pointed it out, but was unaware of the naming convention of the individual .png files.
@ Tardisphere: I'll have to pass you over to Gestankfaust on your particular problem of alternative mobs, as he kindly put the 'mob/character skin' pack together. Yeh! I get bored going through all the pages too! :biggrin.gif:
@ BloodJack: Haven't a clue what I did there. When you first uploaded your higher resolution guis I dropped them in the gui's folder (or so I thought I did!) of the slowly developing v1.8 of this pack. How they've ended up as part high and low res is probably down to my sleep deprivation problem ('zombie's syndrome' I think they call it!). However, just trying to redownload from your original post now doesn't seem to be working for me! The pics are just not showing up in your post (I think it's a problem between me and 'tinypic.com'). Any chance you or someone else could re-post them, then I can put together a fixed pack? Gestankfaust's furnace (although distinctly Cthulhu-like) is in the 'extras' folder, if he doesn't mind, because with it's squid-like decoration I thought it was a nice alternative. Yours wasn't replaced by his (cheeky chappie that he is! :biggrin.gif:)
@ kendawg11 Many thanks for that. What was I thinking there? I'm certainly glad my organ is back in place! :biggrin.gif: However, I may put another alternative in the 'extras' folder with the large red bladed propeller in it's place. Incidentally, if anyone has variations of the 'standard' kz.png file with alternative selections from my 'Xtreme' file version, that they'd like to post, I could stick them in the 'extras' folder of any future versions of the pack.
@ PipeHead: I know the feeling, mate, you have my sympathies. If I'd known previously how much work was involved in producing a 'simple' texture pack, I can safely say I wouldn't have embarked on this endeavour! Especially when I get things wrong!! Though it makes it all worthwhile when I see those epic builds folk keep posting, like 'PipeWorld' for eg. Very much looking forward to seeing pics and G-man's(Lol) video.
@ Gestankfaust: Loving your new title, 'G-man'! As mentioned above, can't wait to see that vid. It sounds like a lot of work, mate! I love that illuminated control panel, and slightly 'disco' dancelike in a good way (I can just imagine a crowd of block figures prancing around in front of that on the bridge of a giant airship)! Lol. It seems a very good alternative at the moment with no use for the 'diving helm'. :sad.gif:
@ Harpspiel: Those are wonderfully cool stained glass textures, lovely work! Any chance you could put a little pack together for the 'extras' folder and the OP? Visiters to this thread are spoiled rotten by the contributions of users here.
@ zedas: Grid lines! Very good advice. :smile.gif: Also many thanks for posting that edited items sheet. Could you kind folks test it out. However, like BloodJack's gui's they are not showing up in the thread for me! Both his and yours are uploaded to 'tinypic.com' and for some weird reason my Vista comp won't display the pics and I can't even use the link embedded in the image. Any help here would be appreciated! Thanks for your efforts. :smile.gif:
...and how many other problems are you guys going to find? I guess I should be grateful, as it means you care, but I really need a break now, as I'm losing motivation quickly. I know how Notch must feel now, but he gets paid millions!!
I will release a patched v1.8.1 of the pack as soon as I can, probably tomorrow, to give you guys a chance to report any more bugs. I've got kids and animals running around me at the moment, so certainly can't concentrate! I tend to be busy with family at the weekend, hence my rush to get the pack out on friday at any cost! In retrospect, I should have listened to Harpspiel's advice about getting some sleep! :biggrin.gif:

That's perfect, mate! Thanks very much. :smile.gif: Would you believe it though, your original tinypic version just popped up in the thread this time round. I'll go and check Bloodjacks post again. Lol!
[edit] ...and disappeared again! Perhaps I'm hallucinating or something!
@ BloodJack: Managed to eventually download all your guis just by constantly refreshing the page. Eventually, one or other popped up on the page. As far as I can see, tracking back through the thread, I can't find anyone having done a 'chest' gui. Am I still missing a higher resolution version from you? Forgive me if I'm wrong, I've got someone screaming in my ear "What'cha typing dad?"
