Posted this in another thread, but here is my Gilman House and Marsh office Building from Innsmouth using Gilmmar's pack. Still very much a WIP and I am having a hard time focusing between this and a huge underground/water chamber which will house a bunch of sunken temples/statues of cthulhu. :biggrin.gif:
If this isnt the place, let me know and I'll snip it.
Oh and Gilmmar, if Notch can take 2 weeks off during game developement, I am pretty sure you can take at least that amount off and work on your world :biggrin.gif: I think we have all benefitted from your passion for the game and the Texture Pack, and want you to have the most fun you possibly can. :smile.gif:
Wow! I just love the way you've been building there. My stone texture works really well for those concrete/stonelike facades! Love the way you've used it for an Innsmouth/Cthulhu setting and this is absolutely the best place to show it off. Meaning many thanks for sharing and your kind comments...much appreciated.
I'd speak for everyone when i say I'd love to see more pics and even a video walkthrough, whenever you've the time. I love the writings of H. P. Lovecraft and as I've mentioned before, this pack definately has dark, stylistic leanings to that genre.
Thanks again mate.
ps. I'm not ignoring anyone else's pics or vids and will go through after the update and comment and move those I like to the OP at the top! Thanks guys and gals. :smile.gif:
steampunky compass and alt. clock! with dial included. (dial should be saved as dial.png and dropped into the "misc" folder in minecraft.jar.)
note: just finished these, not sure if they work yet, probably should make sure
They look scrumptious, Vondell!! I'll see about testing them, as I'm putting together a simplified items.png and I'd like to use them in this update if they work. The colouring is particularly nice and brassy, especially the watch and both are easily recognisable for their intended purpose.
[edit 2] I've just finished editing the arrow, stick, paper, book, boat, clay, fishing rod, redstone dust, doors, sign, cake, diamond (jewels) and probably some other items, just in case you want to concentrate on any others. I'll wrap it up tomorrow as a work in progress for the update, with those still clearly to do left as original Notch items. :smile.gif:

I downloaded the .zip file and it doesnt work. What do I have to download and do to make it work? : /
You'll have to be a little more specific than that if we are going to help. If you have followed the instructions carefully in the OP on page 1 then there is no reason it shouldn't work. If you mean you are getting graphical glitches on brick, gold and pumpkins, etc. then you need to run the MC Patcher by xau. Give us a little more detail and perhaps we can help. :smile.gif:

What are these?? I saw them and want them. they are under they diamond and gold.
These cannot be used in game at the moment. Only the top texture in the iron, gold and diamond textures feature in game. Those above were made redundant by Notch when he fixed placing of 'step' blocks in the grand Halloween patch last year. They were the top and bottom of each of those material blocks when in use and are retained as alternatives now or for when Notch fixes the problem. There was a patch to reactivate them, pre-Beta, as I remember, but I'm not sure if that's still working. I'm re-introducing the iron top and bottom textures again in the next update, for people to use as alternatives.
Updated the skins and mobs pack....added St1muL's skins (lemme know if you want them omitted) and got the mobs folder defaulted to work with certain variations of each mob. Just change to the alts if you want.
Also, here's the items.png I have worked out with all the user submissions that I accumulated and tested (various contributors with the nice work by Vondell AND Glimmartadded):
Only thing on the compass...it seems to stretch it right to left a bit cause you made yours smaller than the original. Or it's just my eyes...
The clock is awesomesauce!
**on my edit I misspelled Glimmar...is funny though so I kept it)

"This may hurt a little, but it's something you'll get used to...."
Ha ha! You're always beating me to it, Gestankfaust! Here's a little taster of some of my recent textures I'll be putting on the new item sheet included in the pack, including Vondell's tools and weapons. In no particular order:
Difficult to see the feathered flights on the arrow, but they are there!
I didn't get a chance to try Vondell's compass. is it still useable? Vondell have you got time to edit it if necessary? I'm trying for this weekend at the very latest to get the update out. :smile.gif:
[edit] Gestankfaust, how many of the other new textures on your item sheet above are your edits? If they are, I could include them on my item sheet for the update, in lieu of my edits. (eg. things like the flint, feather, sugarcane, etc.)

Lol! You've got the 'cake' machine in the boat slot and the steam boat should be in the boat slot! You're way too fast! Now I haven't got any surprises for anyone in the next update, I'll just have to cancel it. Ha ha! :biggrin.gif:
1) Get to and open your '.minecraft' folder
2) Delete every folder (i.e. bin, resources etc) except the 'saves' folder (which you really should make regular backups of if you care about your MCworld!)
3) Run Minecraft.exe/sign in and this will update your game to latest patched version.
4) Now grab Glimmer's Texture Pack and copy it into the 'texturepacks' folder within the .minecraft folder
5) Download the latest patcher(v -1.1.11) at this link: viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=46173&start=1770
6) Run the patcher program > where it says 'Texture Pack' tick it and choose browse > .minecraft / texturess folder/Glmmer's Stemapunk Pack > this will now auto set 32x32 for Tile Size and leave all 'Options' boxes below ticked > now click 'Patch' bottom right
7) Run the game and select the texture pack from within game menu > bingo, you're in.
Hope this helps
-Thirsty "
i believe you only need to delete the `version`file in the `bin` folder to force Minecraft to re-download all the resources.
I tweaked the cowhide to make it actually match the hide of the cow, and I revamped the leather armor as well.
for the armor, I went for a sort of old western steambiker look. the leather jacket, chaps, and boots are reminiscent of nineteenth-century cowboys, while the headgear resembles a turn-of-the-century driving cap.
I'll try to have a working version of the actual skin tomorrow, after I fiddle around with it a little bit.

come find me on the meincraft.com server! or at least visit my house and leave a note, if I'm not there.
Count Down!
Last few hours folks, for anyone wanting to add any alternative skins, etc. Post them now!
I hope to be finishing off things for the next version 1.8 Glimmar's Steampunk texture pack.
Gestankfaust, have you an updated pack of skins I can use?
Last chance!

I was so tryin to be too fast

EDIT - Fixed...but can leave the surprize iffin you want me to (saw you posted them and was tryin to get a chuckle...did that work at least?)
:biggrin.gif:
@Vondell - I love it...can we use it in the pack?
I like that title...Glimmart. That'll work nicely for any new painting collections I do! :smile.gif:
As regards the items Ha ha! Don't worry about it, mate. There'll still be plenty of surprises in the new pack if people take a chance on using the 'Xtreme' art and 'Punch-a-Pic' mods and of course there will be new things on the latest terrain.png file and it will all be at the top too for new visitors.
The items.png file I'll be including, will of necessity be simpler than the one you are offering, because officially I can't take a chance on using any graphics I'm not absolutely sure of the provenance of and I'm wanting to start bending the 'items' to my will (mwhahahaaha!) and starting from fresh. I will be including Vondell's and some of Tlos's items too though.
