You should make modloader compatible wild grass. It's not hard to do, you just need to give each grass picture its own file in a wildgrass folder. Gerudoku's pack has an example, so if you use the same names you wouldn't have a problem. I really like your pack but i've had to make the wildgrass files for 3 other packs already, I really don't want to do it again lol. And I can't be the only modloader-wildgrass user using this pack.

Now, if only it were possible to actually build steam or waterwheel powered devices and properly control waterflow with valves and such, I'd be as happy as a mad scientist locked in a workshop full of gears and body parts...
had to drag this up... there are a couple of mods now that do something along these lines.. they are looking promising so far. don't have links.. but they are staying on the first couple of mod pages.

ummm.. why go to the trouble when there is a version that supports the images being on the terrain.png?
I've been a fan of this texture pack since my lady friend found it. The only thing that bothers me is the cake. I haven't seen any alternate textures for the cake (I may have missed them?), otherwise I would swap them in. Any chance I could convince one of you skilled artists out there to come up with a cake texture that matches the mood of Glimmar's back, but still looks like a cake?

Because the version that supports it being in the terrain.png does not work with modloader. That means you can't use most other mods out there if you want to use wildgrass with this texture pack.

What?
I use wildgrass and modloader at once, and there is no problem with the terrain-version. You must be doing something wrong, or I did black magic.
Long time follower, just popping in to say awesome work on the textures Glimmar, I enjoy them a great deal. Also, I swear you're like, the most dedicated responder/poster on these forums. Kudos.
I was playing on my friends game the other day because he was signed in and asleep, and after collecting like 20 stacks of clay right off the bat because I spawned on it, I made a workbench, :Furnace:, some and started to make bricks, how ever when I made the brick blocks ( ) for building they were strange, they had a corner that was a mix of in two corners diagonal from each other, then a in the bottom right, and a swirling portal on the top left on each side of the six sides and even on the small version, Is there a glitch with the texture pack that dose this?
This is the only thing I have noticed glitching out, other wise great pack!

Use the HD Patcher. That'll fix that problem (and a similar problem with gold blocks), as well as fix the compass and watch and a few other things.
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let you guys know, I've finally started a 32x32 pack! It's a Shadow of the Colossus pack (one of my most favourite games, EVAR!) and yea! There isn't a thread up yet but I thought you guys might want to know.
Also wondering if I would be able to use a few of your alternate textures as a base? They would probably be unrecognizable by the time I finish with them, but if I release early I just want to make sure I have your permission. All credit would be given as appropriate too! :biggrin.gif:
uhh I used the patcher and am using the mods that were incoporated from imperial lands. Yet for some reason I found this on my buildings. I am using GLimmar's texture pack with a few cuts from doku. how do I fix this?

It looks as though the HD Patcher wasn't installed correctly. Are you using the newest version, and did you use it on a fresh install of Minecraft?
Glimmar's New 64x64 Steampunk Minecraft Character Use as normal in my 32x32 Glimmars Steampunk pack.
Before I plough on with the promised new armour, I thought it appropriate to work on a new Glimmar's Steampunk char.png file for you all to use. The process of creating the new Victorian/Steampunk character has been a useful exercise for getting me used to where everything would go in terms of armor, uniforms, steampunk gizmo's etc. I won't say who the character is based on. :biggrin.gif:
This will be included in my next update, but for those who want to include it now with Glimmar's Steampunk for personal use, just rename to 'char' and drop it into the 'mobs' folder in my texture pack zip file. See 'important note' below:
[edit] Here's an improved version with a slightly rounded head! :smile.gif: Use as normal in my 32x32 Glimmars Steampunk pack.
As you've probably immediately noticed, this is a higher resolution skin than would be normal for 32x32 terrain textures, but it is my preferance that mobs and gui screens should have a higher pixel count than the terrain textures. 32x32 terrain textures look great to me when viewed from a distance and you all know now that the main reason for me doing this pack was to create a texture set that worked well with epic constructions.
To me Mobs and Guis feel cramped for nice detail at 32x32. In the case of gui's that are regularly viewed up close and personal when compared with the surrounding landscape, they actually appear to be of a lower resolution if created at the same pixel resolution. Anyways, not sure why I feel the need to justify what I've done, as this is how I want it to be for my personal use and I haven't the time to do variations to suit everyone, sorry! :smile.gif: So if you don't like it...don't use it. Lol!
Important note to texture pack owners and modders: Anyone putting together their own pack for redistribution, or currently using my textures in an existing texture pack, please refrain from including this graphic in your own compilation, until it has been properly released with the next update of Glimmar's Steampunk, even then, please remember to seek permission from me first. Credit alone, however adequate is not considered 'permission' according to the Minecraft Forum rules. Thanks folks. :smile.gif:
High-res charskins always look so creepy :ohmy.gif:
But good job, it looks really good, and it looks like you put a lot of effort into that one. Keep doing what youre doing, Glimmar!

Thanks Mikejones. :smile.gif:
Haha! I have to agree with you about the high-res and creepiness! Whichever way you illustrate them, either with a pleasant expression or other, they will always have that doll-like creepiness that you just don't get with more pixelated characters. Bearing in mind the slightly dark aspect of some forms of Steampunk it's probably acceptable with this theme. I was pleased with the way the character looked against the steamwolf in third person view. :smile.gif:
My main reason for finally deciding on 64x64 size, is that I think I would get too frustrated trying to engineer something worthy for the different sets of armor, given the gadgetiness of the theme. However, my heart is still set on 32x32 for the terrain elements, and in any event, I just wouldn't have the time now to change. Occasionally I've thought about changing one or two textures to see what they might look like at 64x64, but as yet I haven't given in to the temptation.

Wow that character skin looks great! Any chance you'd create an alternative female ?
...preferably one that doesn't have red hair.
Many thanks, Banishga. :smile.gif:
Ha! I think you remember me mentioning I wanted to do a female version with red hair some time ago. Lol!
Yes, I'd like to try making an alternative female version and the hair color probably wouldn't be too difficult to change to a variety of shades once the initial character was created.
Just keep giving me a gentle prod from time to time!
I'll continue with the armour though while I've still got some ideas in my head and hope that any female character i create will fit the armour too. :smile.gif:

Another note, have you fine fellows seen this mod?
