Hey, love it so far, one thing can u please fix... the regular Stone looks way way way way way to much like dirt.. other than that... LOVE IT :biggrin.gif:
Thanks for the release, I know you feel it's a little rushed, but it's really a work of art, although as the artist you won't see that, you'll only see the imperfections :smile.gif:
I hope you can relax a little now, and take the gradual refinement at a more leisurely pace.
I have no sure plans for the pack, other than my usual digging, spelunking, wall-it-up-quick-it's-a-creeper, style of play, but I love the whole look and feel of my new world now, it somehow smells a little oilier, with a hint of coal and steam, ( vague childhood memories of steam trains and railway stations probably ).
Anyway, to work, I must go make a new skin as I said earlier :biggrin.gif:

This is due to my attempts to get to the perfect 'easy on the eye' sandstone look you see used as capping stones over cobblestone and brick walls. It's certainly not exciting out in the landscape. It was originally a shiny cream granite for those epic bank type halls I envisaged in 'my' world. I also don't like heavy textures for things that stretch into the distance. However, I will be continuing to experiment with both cobblestone and stone, after the Halloween update, and I just need a bit of a rest at the moment, to come back to it fresh.

I was honestly afraid that after all this foreplay it wasn't going to live up to expectations.
It's tremendous. Seriously. I saw absolutely nothing about it to criticize, other than maybe that Notch's sky needs to be leaden and gray instead of cheery and blue in order to really match, and I consider that his fault rather than yours.

Well done.
Idk for sure, but you actualy can change the color of the sky with certain mods and such.. good point thought. From what i've read there will be bright/gray skys in the october patch
I'm loving this
it's a shame we'll only have it for a few days before the Halloween update which'll probably break it (along with every other texture.png due to the extra blocks)
I second that regular stone looks too much like dirt though
You had any ideas for re-painting the new hell blocks yet?
I suppose it'd help if we knew what they were though :tongue.gif:

Hey glimmar, Why did you pick orange for iron =P?
Iron ore (ironoxide) is orange, it's more accurate than the original

Now since i think abt it, its true that it might break it, will be a shame.. but the orange, i did not know that... thanks :smile.gif:
Hey glimmar, your proboly going to get a lot of requests, but do you plan on making the red stone, when placed down, more noticble when on, like the thing glows instead of little dust?
Anyone got an idea how to make the lava/water animated? >__> Its a great pack! I love it imensly but lava/water falls dont look very nice yet :c not gonna deter me from using this though.

Try reading the original first post a little more thoroughly. Specifically,
Don't forget to use "xau's HD texture fix" if you're moving up from 16x16 pixel textures or you'll experience lots of glitches with fire, water and lava and you won't get the "pea-soup" water either! Available here:
Exactly so. As I mentioned in the download instructions. However, this cannot be repeated often enough. Thanks Webuild4life. :smile.gif:
any time :smile.gif:
I'm using it and listening to Abney Park right now.
You be makin' magic everywhere up in this b*tch.
