Haven't heard from Glimmar in a long time. It's possible that he's simply given up on the pack, which would be exceedingly sad, and while myself and others would be willing to take up the pack and update it. He's thus far been against outside additions, changes and alternative resolution versions.
It's only been a few months since he last posted here and it doesn't sound like he's abandoned it entirely. He did say that he's been having a lot of issues in his personal life, so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. I hope he doesn't abandon the pack though
Just been reading through all your posts above. Thank you everyone for your support, your patience and understanding shown in your comments above. The pack is certainly not abandoned, but with the way life is at the moment, with such little free time, I've found it very difficult to face up to all the changes that have come along since as far back as MC 1.7.
A little back history to put things in perspective, but as this may not be relevant to your enjoyment of this texture pack you may not wish to bore yourself with reading it, hence why it's in a spoiler:
Last year soon after completing my GS v.18 Update my wife suddenly had to give up her work due to serious health issues for which she has since needed a number of operations. Not to be too melodramatic, she's doing much better now. However, with looking after her and my youngest child, who is severely disabled, my real-life work has suffered over the past year. We lost a lot financially and have had to make some drastic changes in our life-style. I've been working hard on converting our large garden into a kind of urban homestead to save money and so I can be on hand to help and ferry family around. As you might imagine this doesn't leave me with much energy or enthusiasm for creatively working on my texture pack...I have tried and done some things, but in another direction. To explain: one good little thing that came out of all this is that my wife has become hooked on Minecraft too, 'mod-packs' in particular, so we share some time together in the evening, when she has the energy, playing together in FTB or other such mod-packs and I've done lots of plant textures and other odds'n'ends to surprise her with, but these have mostly been for MC 1.7 mods. Then recently we decided to try a couple of MC 1.12 modpacks, the latest being 'SevTech' on Twitch and that's a whole new story...
I have recently taken a look at MC 1.12.2 and been shocked and discouraged at how bad things look with GS at the moment (I get very critical of GS when I've been away from it for some time) and how much needs doing to bring it up-to-date and sort out texture arrangements now we have such things as concrete, colored clays and terracotta.
I will never just 'abandon' the pack as I've put so much work into it over the past years...is it 8 years?!...and as VermillionTwilight mentioned above, I don't want anyone else working on the pack as it is my 'artwork'. However, to continue work on it I guess I will just have to take things one step at a time and release smaller updates more often as and when I can. Also I want to concentrate more on how the pack looks without the need for or dependence on Optifine (which I've had problems with when playing modded Minecraft). That was always my plan after I'd upgraded to GS v.18. Working on trying to upgrade everything at once takes longer and also results in me feeling 'burned out'. Minecraft, albeit modded, is still the only 'game' that I really love and play. If you cared to read the spoiler above you'll just have to bear in mind mine and my family's continuing circumstances.
Once again, a big thank you to everyone who posted such supportive comments above...even if it's only to make me feel guilty about not keeping the pack updated.
Now...to try and figure out how everything works and where everything goes again!

Hey man, we all understand. Life can be unfair sometimes. Just know that you got us bro don't forget that

Thanks, mate...much appreciate the support.
When I can I'm now working on a set of 16 beds. All different designs for bed covers, not just different colors...lacy and satiny stuff, etc. and usual finicky detail, but the brass gizmo bed is still there too!
Finished the beetroot growth stages already. Will post some progress pics soon and an update when the beds are finished. If it looks like the beds are taking longer than expected then I will update anyway, then you can all at least jump around on a few new beds.
Oh...and I still haven't uploaded the 'redstone pipes add-on', or the 'GS Soundscape Records' add-on. Oh dear...lots to do and re-examine. Hang in there folks!
Looking great! I especially like the white-blue striped bed. Your pack is still the reason why I keep returning to Minecraft.
Many thanks for those kind words. Welcome to (or back to) the MC Forums.
Also, looking at the pics of the beds again I've just noticed a strange exceedingly long cobble in the wall above the bed! Why have I never seen this before!? Going to have to do something about that for sure as it certainly wasn't intentional. Flip! It must have been the results of an all-nighter...probably. Lol!
Though I haven't played minecraft much recently (or when I do want to play it's to procrastinate on something else so I have to force myself to not play lol), I still check this out every time there's a new post since it's still one of the coolest texture packs out there. I like the purple bed and the fancy blue one!

I was watching an old Yogscast video today from 2011, playing a fallout-inspired map with a steampunk themed texture pack. I didn't recognize it at all until a chicken walked by. I had no idea Glimmar had done so much work on this pack over the years, the textures looked so different, but it still felt the same.
Glimmar, this pack is amazing and thank you so much for putting your own time and effort into doing something awesome for a bunch of internet strangers!
I was hoping to donate some money, but the post said the donation button is on your curse/forge page, and the link to that doesn't seem to work. Is there an alternative available?

Well...somewhat. Slow on the texturing with lack of free-time, but believe it or not I 'play' more minecraft now than I've ever done, but I'm catching up on all the fun and mods I missed out on over the years with only doing textures.

Oh..yes...I remember that video. They were so hilarious and the pack was so bad by comparison, but they were fun times.
Many thanks for the kind words and the time taken to post...it is very much appreciated. I wish I was more able to update as fast as others around here.
Thanks also for the offer of a donation. I've just looked over my first main page here and fixed all the links. I've completely ditched Adfly as it's more trouble than it's worth, so all the links either take you to my Curse/Forge download page or direct to MediaFire for alt textures and things.
If you were still wishing to donate something there is a 'donate' option button directly below the 'download' button on my CurseForge Glimmar's Steampunk page. The 'Main Pack Download' link on the first page takes you directly there. or use this link here: https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/glimmars-steampunk.
Not sure what happens when someone donates there, as no-one has donated, or Curse/Forge don't have a way of notifying me, but if they do and I get a donation sometime I would like to display the names of any donors on my main first page.
You are always helping others...and me too! Many thanks.
How reliable is it?
-----------------------------------------
Just to make clear...I have decided not to use adFly anymore. The links using adFly were not passing through to my download page and I must apologise for not having caught up with this earlier.
Havent played MC for quite a while, went in ,and noticed that lot of textures are off in blue square boxes. Was worried that you quit suporting the texture pack, feel so happy that you are still here for us. As for me, i don't think i can play MC with anything else but these textures, everything else just feels wrong
And take as much time you need, i think everyone is fine with that, as i rather wait longer but receive the quality you always deliver, then rushed work
Thank you for taking the time and trouble to sign up and leave an encouraging comment. It really does give me a push.
I'm currently revising all the broken textures so they'll work again and listing everything that needs major re-editing; like the horses! Also a massive amount of new stuff from previous MC updates, not just 1.13. As you can see from the pics above I'd started on all the new beds and then got carried away with other RL work, etc.
Oh dear! I'm dissatisfied with so many of my existing textures, let alone the work needed on the huge number of new ones!
As my better half often says, "Stop looking at everything, just one thing at a time."
So my intention is to get the pack back up and running to start with, minus new textures (other than those I've done in the meantime), ready for Optifine to be updated and hope there isn't even more work renaming all those extra connected textures!
I'm having to take all my horse textures out of the game for extensive re-editing. Also haven't been able to fix a problem with my randomised bookcase block, so that will just now be the default filing cabinet texture until I can figure things. Mojang...why?
Will be finishing all the new beds up as quick as I can. Also having to check all textures in and out of the game for name changes, texture format edits, particles, etc, not just blocks and items. Mojang seems to have had a lovely time changing everything around for the Aquatic update. This next GSv19 update for MC1.13 will definitely not be backwards compatible with earlier versions of MC...sorry, but not really my fault.
I am working as fast as I can now to get a working version of Glimmar's Steampunk back up and running for MC1.13, but don't expect much in the way of new textures, except beds, beetroot and some quick fix things.

.....GSv.19 - New Beds WIP
Got about half of the beds done now so I thought anyone still interested in Glimmar's Steampunk might want to take a sneak peak at how they're going.
More pics to see if you click on the spoiler button below:
...now working on the rest.

Super cobble.
Yay, Glim is back!
I am so glad to see you, and working.
I was quite worried. I hope things are going much better now.
Beautiful artistry as usual.
I've quit minecraft several times now, yet I keep looking at your updates.
Always happy to see a new one.
I even created an account to say I actually like the long cobble, looks like a re-used lintel to me.

Found a python script which makes renaming item and block textures easier when updating Resource Packs from 1.12 to 1.13
https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/7f5712/python_scripts_to_rename_your_resourcepack_to/
Thanks so much. Glad you like the beds.

That's very kind of you...seriously. Life is good, but busy in the real world just surviving.
Haha! Thanks. Sorry to be the slowest artist in Minecraft.

Thanks one and all.
The script seems to have renamed all items and blocks except granite.
You can manually change it or just add another line to the python script.
So 1.13 has changed all the horse textures!
Oh...Mojang why you do this to us.
I spent so much time on my horse textures. So sad!
This will mean a lot of work, even aside from new 1.10 through to 1.13 stuff I have yet to do. [groan]
