Heh - you still have the link to 16 on that page, not the new one. (The link says 17, the download says 16.)
Either way - I am getting the exact same problem there, so the difficulty isn't AdFly, it's Curse. Curse is just being really slow - and it may have something to do with Minecraft having a new update as well.... 1.8.3... just my bad timing. (I decided to while away the download time by mining... and discovered the update... which is also taking a long time....)
The Auld Grump
Something weird is going on there on that page. That there download button is still downloading the old GSv.16, but if you click on the 'other downloads' tab just below the 'About Glimmar's Steampunk' heading it clearly shows my GSv17 download. If you click on that, then you get the latest version. Why the main download button isn't being updated I don't know!? I can't control that side of things I'm afraid.
Also download seems ok to me, but I have membership privileges so it should download somewhat faster.
Anyways, try that 'other downloads' tab for the latest update.
Wow, now saying 9 hours and 33 minutes.... Something is definitely up. (And my previous attempts failed.) The highest speed that I have gotten on it was 5.2 K per second.... A test download from another site went fine, so it isn't my end. (A PDF from RPGNow - nothing minecrafty at all.)
Yeah... gonna wait, I think. Maybe try it on some other location with my laptop.

I think they have regular problems with traffic or something. My first attempts to upload the last update (GSv16) took an age and each time after waiting an hour they'd failed anyway. GSv.17 took less than 5 mins to upload even though now the main Curse download button seems to be stuck on the v.16 download! I guess that's why it's called Curse!
Let me know if it's still being a pain and I'll temporarily upload it to MediaFire for you.
It is in fact continuing to be a pain - I just tried it using my laptop at a restaurant instead of my home computer.
Same problem, only now saying two days....
The Auld Grump
I'll pop a link to a MediaFire download in a Forum PM to you and see how that goes. As it happens that's taking an age too, but that's often the case for MediaFire for me! I'll let you know when it's landed.

Lovely stuff and amazing scale too! Love the smoke/steam trails behind the ship.
Hang on while I decide what to put in the Fan Gallery as some are a little dark (probably my fault), and thanks very much for providing these, Alex.
I look forward to seeing any other projects you might work on and indeed from anyone else who has built something worth showing using Glimmar's Steampunk. It doesn't have to be epic either, something small and nicely designed is just as interesting and inspiring as a vast city. So don't think you have to wait for a huge project to be completed to show an interesting design off.
Thank you! The darkness is actually mostly my fault, as there is not much lighting in this airship.
I have some other projects with your pack, but none of them are in any way small. I could take some shots of what I have if you want them.

Hey, big is good too!
I was just trying to encourage folk who work on a smaller scale, but none-the-less create something of interest, like a beautiful Victorian house or a clever looking machine, etc. Also helps me see how the pack can be improved and what looks good and inspires me to try other things. However, big always stands more chance of looking cool!
Thank you - that turned things around, and took less than ten minutes to download.
Now to start laying track - I am thinking an elevated trestle.....
The Auld Grump - he was found in the wreck, with his hand on the throttle - scalded to death by the steam. (From Wreck of the Old 97.)
Haha! Those elevated tresses are all the rage now. I keep mine in place with gold plated hair clips...oh...you said 'trestles'...right. just forget everything I said about my gold pinned tresses!
Megistus' elevated trestles are worth a look at...and he doesn't use gold plated hair clips!
Glad the MediaFire link worked out. Have fun with the new rail track
I somehow ended up starting work on a villain lair over a flowing volcano, instead... with the first step being to make the volcano.... (No lava, yet.... but I blasted out the caldera.)
I need to figure out a way to make a trap door to drop heroes into the lava below....
The Auld Grump - but, really... molten lava gives a much nicer warm glow to the place....
This should be the official texture pack for Minecraft. Just saying. No other pack has this much detail or time put into it. Hey Microsoft you should take notice of this pack since you're the new owners of the game.

Always more fun being the villain...so I believe.
I once saw a fantastic piece of art depicting a huge city built into a vast and deep crater in the side of an asteroid. That got me wanting to make my own city (or at least a huge mining complex or something) deep down in a crater. So I too started blasting away with tnt.
It's still at the blasting stage now and nowhere near as big as I wanted it to be, and as much fun as blasting stuff is, I got a bit tired of trying to make it look natural and couldn't be bothered to use mcedit. However, I did fill it with lava at the bottom and had pipes going all the way from the surface to the lava at the bottom as if it was powering something. I think I featured it a couple of times in my vids.
I never did think of having some kind of execution platform on the rim! I'm obviously far to nice to my people!

Haha! Many thanks, Hikachan. Glad you like the look of the pack. Very encouraging words that cheered me up no end. As previously mentioned, after the GSv16 and 17 updates I've been left feeling a bit 'jaded', so your comment is much appreciated.

Well ... don't let it burn you out. But, I certainly get it, I usually feel a bit spent after uploading an update. But, hey, look at it this way. I have been tweaking with mod textures for you pack for the last 18 months or so because I enjoy your vision of minecraft. You textures are quite a pleasure to peel apart and rework into something else simply so they will blend in seamlessly with that vision. Your work is very, very much appreciated and enjoyed.

Thanks for all your hard work!
I appreciate that, Megistus, many thanks.
Your work is very much appreciated too!
Now this reminds me that I have that texture sheet of funghi and abandoned tools and cogs to post through to you. I'll try and get that done today.
So I don't completely stagnate though, but just to illustrate how ridiculously organised I am, I thought I'd start work on the endermite...probably the least useful thing to do! I thought it seemed to be an easy mob to start me off thinking seriously about the 'Guardians'. Well...some 48 hours later I've got about 20 different endermite variations so far with a few more to go before I get bored. I thought while the ideas keep popping in my head I'll keep doing more, because once I leave it I'll probably not return to it again for years, if ever.
It's great to spawn them en-masse as they put me in mind of that scene in The Mummy movie where you see thousands of scarab beetles pouring out of holes in the wall. Yep, I tried recreating that and it worked! Filled a chamber, sealed them in then removed a block and they all came pouring out!
So I might add scarab beetles to the mix too now! Where's my encyclopedia of beetles gone!! Hehe! Google will do!
They're all currently just thrown in randomly, but I probably need to go through them and try and make them biome specific, if that works for something like an endermite, which, without looking into it, is probably only found in the end region...I should probably research that, but can't be bothered!
I should get back to real life now, but I'll try and post some pics when I've had enough of the little critters.
I have a server where some friends and I have been building a city, and I thought I would show off a bit and share some pictures of the stuff I've done

Uploading my 24 screenshots of my airship to an Imgur album. If all goes well, I'll have the link in my next post here.
EDIT: If that seems a bit much, you're welcome to pick and choose!
