It looks great, but can we only use it by patching it with xau's program? When I used it with the in game texture picker, it crashed the game, and I had to remove it :sad.gif:
EDIT: Out of curiosity, what technique do you use to help get your textures to tesselate so nicely? I can't recall ever seeing any pack which tessellated so cleanly before.
I think he made 4 at the same time, then cut out one square. For example, have you ever seen the bricks in the minecraft classic texture?
Well, I can install 32x32 and 16x16 texture packs fine using Xau's HD fix (mcpatcher), but when I try to install 64x64 (Animal Crafting), I can't click on "patch." Any reason why this is so?
About the tessellation, I can't really explain, practice I guess. I've been making repeating patterns for a long time, since they were popular as website backgrounds even. Trust me, that was a long time ago.
And the way I make my patterns repeating can be summed up as follows:
1. I fill in the tile with as much content as I can, working from the center out.
2. Using the mask tool, I select the left half of the tile, then using the move tool, move it to the other side of the tile. I then deselect it obviously.
3. I fill in the gap.
4. I repeat step 2, only I move the top to the bottom. And again, I fill in the blank space.
5. I then move the right half of the tile to the left side to take care of the tiny amount of blank space left.
6. Move the bottom half to the top, and tada! You have a completed tile!
I was noticing the color on the handles for the tools that you've done so far. It seems that wood, stone, and iron follow a color scheme with each type of materal having it's own colors, but then when you get to diamond and gold, they they have the same color handles except for the axe. Was that intentional?
Its based on the Animal Crossing theme.. In the game, they have different kinds of tools as well: Normal, Silver, and Gold. So I'm assuming he incorporated that into his pack. Iron looks like the in-game Silver.. There is no diamond in AC, but since diamond is better than gold on Minecraft, he used the same gold handle for that one. (In AC: Gold is the best tool.)
THat font... for the numbers you used in that explanation, they look a lot like animal crossing letters, atleast to me they do. Maybe you should add them in.

After browsing through the minecraft.jar, I think it is possible to do that. There is a new font.png (or something like that, winrar is broken atm)
The font is FinkHeavy, and it's the exact same font used in Animal Crossing. The image googie is talking about is default.png and it's in the font folder, as of the last update. Unfortunately, the font does not keep its whimsy at ALL when it's at a size small enough to be used in default.png. I tried making the image a higher resolution, but as you can see in my crazy font screen shot a couple pages back, it makes the letter spacing go nuts. Hopefully xau can find a way to fix this with his patcher and we can all live happily ever after! :biggrin.gif:
EDIT: Here is the screenshot again. You can see the smoother edges on some of the letters. You can also see them going all over the place! Get back in line letters!
Oh hey, remember that promise I made about doing an update today? Well I'm keeping it. To celebrate minecarts finally working in SMP, I made minecart tracks! Also, I changed gravel.
Yay! More goodies. Looks terrific. Downloading. Thanks.
Any chance of a 16x16 to work with the new built-in texture selector?
There's a reason that this is 64x64. I use minecrafter (see earlier post) and just select the zip. Then I click "Launch Minecraft". After that, I can use the built-in texture selector with any resolution.

I've never installed a texture pack before, so this'll be my first, but i'm kind of confizzled.
Do i download the terrain.png, or the ..other link whose name escapes me?

Now I just need to figure out a way to get the Animal Crossing music into Minecraft. :wink.gif:
