Wow. I love your base! And point definitely taken about the alternate textures thing, the gray brick as cobblestone looks amazing! How long did it take you to build all that though?
Thank you for your nice comments. I have been playing minecraft for a little over 3 months now and i have only played on that map. So three months to build what i have so far on my base. It has become rather extensive and is now sprawling out across the surrounding countryside. The main part of my base isn't even shown in those screen shots. The two buildings shown were built in the last week and a half. I am almost finished with the dome in the screenie. I took that shot from the back of the building. The front has a covered walkway leading up to it with extensive water and plant landscaping. My next project is a giant tree that will reach to the top of the map. It will have rooms and such and should be a blast to build. Gotta love minecraft! =)
There's a problem I encounter that I'm not sure whether everyone else does.
It isn't too big but it's a tad...Annoying.
There are some files that get removed or moved upon using xau's patcher, so you have to use certain files before and after the patch.
Such as like how you install the terrain.png. use the patcher, and then put in everything else.
I can't seem to use other item png files, so there are particular mods I can't install like risugami's Arrow mod, without being stuck with the crappy default skin, or a different one with the same measurements...
Idk, Just thought I'd let you know...
Edit: I managed to figure out how to install it all at once, but I'm betting you'd chosen to use that method the first time. Just by putting the texture pack into a zipped folder and patching it that way, But I can't use any mods that deal with new item images and such, I was hoping if you had a fix for this.
Hey everybody, got another update for you. Crop and tilled earth are here. The tilled earth is all made up, based on the original dirt, but well... tilled! The crops are, dun dun dun duuunnnn... TURNIPS! They grow up white, and turn red when they're ready to harvest, since red turnips are worth the most bells of course. Anyway...
The terrain file has been updated, so go nuts.
Oh yeah, and Vesperian, mods that add custom items typically use the default items.png file with their stuff added to it. To use elemental arrows, you'll have to scale them up and add them to my items.png file manually. If everyone makes a list of their favorite mods that add custom items, I'll be happy to add them to the items.png file for animal crafting and even modify them to match.
Oh and while I was at it, I updated the .zip file in the OP to include the stuff from the halloween update.
In another thread some guys figured out just what part of the trianlge pic that is the overlay for grass and leaves corresponds to which biome.
Here is a relevant picture and explanation so that you can customize the color for each biome:

Based on the information found in this thread viewtopic.php?f=25&t=71923
I reversed the code and generated an image that should show exactly how the biomes map to the two colors.png files.
* RAINFOREST (rainforest)
* SEASONAL FOREST (seasonal forest)
* PLAINS (plains)
* DESERT (desert)
* FOREST (forest)
* SHRUBLAND (shrubland)
* SAVANNA (savanna)
* SWAMPLAND (swampland)
* TAIGA (taiga)
* TUNDRA (tundra)
Yeah, I've been reading that thread all night, I used DonkeyKong's map to make a custom map for the trees, but it needs tweaking before I release it, too many hard edges as is. I'm going to leave the grass as is until either notch or a clever modder fix the side of grass+dirt voxels to change shades along with the grass color. Thanks though!
Can anyone please explain exactly how to do this on a mac? I've been successful with previous texture packs but I never had animated water and lava. I have the HD texture fix or whatever its called, but I don't know how to use it for mac. Does anyone know how I could use this?
What up dudes? I've got an update for you. The jukebox and bookshelves. The jukebox is based on the... classic? I think? I literally just forgot the name. :/ The bookshelves are.. based on the wood block. But the books are from the ranch bookcase! If that counts for anything... I also updated the cracking to look smoother and also not be doku's, lulz.
Anything else? Oh yeah! I updated the inventory screen. Also, I updated the foilage colors for biomes to suit the texture pack a bit better. I changed the grass colors too, but didn't add it to the .zip yet due to the sides still not changing. I think that's it... I think... Anyway, newest terrain.png is uploaded and the .zip with the other stuff has the extras added to it too!

So, whatcha think?
So delicious. I can't wait to see what you do with the paintings.
Just registered on the forums tonight but I've been using this texture set for a week or so now and I love it! Thanks for the hard work :smile.gif:
The other night for my own game I photoshopped up all the paintings to be AC artwork, if people want, the rules are ok with it and Dancrum doesn't mind I could share that here.
The new updates look great! I really like the jukebox and the inventory screen. The shovel, axe, and pick look great in the items.png. I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the items. The bookcase could of had more books in it perhaps. Maybe another book color too. I don't think i mentioned before that i really liked the turnips you did. They look really cool. Thanks for the new updates and i will be looking forward to more stuff. =)

I don't remember there being any copyrights on the paintings that are mostly too blurry to see and have most likely been copied in the first place... Not sure about the forums, though.

Man that's nice! I am going to grab the new terrain file right now. Perfect timing too. I was just heading to the nether for some mining. =D

I just wanted to pop in and say how awesome this pack is!
i recon it scores:
(all though i edit the half step to make it look flat)
keep it up man/woman! (not sure...)
also do you know when your going to (or if) do the Armour?
edit: also one suggestion... make either the still water lighter like the flowing or vice-versa
I miss Animal Crossing...T^T My poor village is probably covered in weeds D:
What's left? Uh...
Bedrock
Half Steps
Jukebox
Sponge (We obviously need a higher definition picture of Spongebob AMIRITE?
Redstone Dust
Redstone Torches
Lava
Minecart tracks
Wool
Is that all? Am I forgetting anything?
I've been playing with foliage colors but I think I'll wait until side grass is fixed before jumping into the world of biome-modified colors.
Someone above made a request for still water color matching the moving water color - I made two flavors for myself. Not sure which I prefer yet.
