the issue with the mossy cobble, as I see it, is that in its natural environment it doesn't exist solely on its own, but mixed in with cobble. so the mossy has to tile not just with itself, but with the cobblestone, or it will look weird and out of place when they're mixed up. :/
[this point would probably be better made if I had found a dungeon to take a picture of and show you before I posted >>]
Limitation of the way the game is programmed. Not my doing. It bugs me, too. The next one will have shorter windows. Any windows extending past the vertical halfway point have that weird artifact.
Hey, Tragic! As a long time user, I'd be curious to hear what you think of the new sand!
The sand is the new change I like the most, besides the stone slab, which doesn't look like a lighter, halved version of smooth stone anymore. The ledges on the sand blocks look fine to me, but I think you might want to take a closer look at them. I see an alternate sand block but I haven't tried it yet.
Good to hear, dudes. And thanks to the fellas who submitted videos so far. I got a few PMs with youtube addresses. Feel free to post them to the thread here, too!
Iterating on the mossy cobble a bit based on y'alls feedback:
Click for a bigger version. Mossy cobble, MOB spawner (which looks really rad tiled), stove, dispenser, stove top, door, and a heap of other changes. I include all changed textures as alts at the bottom for the people who like the more modern stove, dispenser, and chest. Going for a full blown-cartoon-rpg vibe.
Working on grass and ice. And then the cacti is getting a revamp. After that, shoot, I don't think there are many original tiles left.
See, a lot of texture packs started to use mine as a base. As a result, mine looks like a million others. Ironically, I'm the originator, but it doesn't matter. The scene is saturated. I'm iterating to differentiate myself from my, well, adopters? Copiers? Not sure the term. I guess the pack forked!
I think there's a pretty clear hue difference between the two, but I've been planning on changing sandstone ever since the update where it naturally occurs under sand blocks anyhow. Looks out of place now.
Re: pirate feel - I'm not going for that specifically. That said, my iron sword did just get changed to a cutlass.

The next version of my pack will have this chest as an alternate in the terrain PNG.

(I thought the screenshot looks better with fog on.)
