I applaud you good sir, proper use of shapes, no outlines on the inside of sprites, specular highlights! It's really good stuff, extremely clean!
Thanks, Eld. I've seen your work around. I used to lurk a lot at EatPoo, Polycount, and the usual digital art suspects. I'm sure I've seen it at one of them. Very distinct style. I like it a heap.
I'm an illustrator by trade. I do mostly magazine, editorial, and apparel work (snowboards, tees, that sort of stuff). I used to be a 2D artist at a handheld game company a few years ago. I'm trying to shake off the cobwebs with this simple pack and then start making some iPhone games or somesuch.
This is what I've been doing instead of pixel art:
You've certainly got the chops -- I'd think you could scoop up quite a bit of indie game gigs, freelance. That's my plan. The print illustration market took a big hit when the economy took a **** and games or comics are my real love, so why not get paid to do what I like the most?

IE, mostly traditional (analog brush and ink, digital colors) comic style or digital painterly work in a slightly exaggerated vein.
So, yeah. Rusty with the pixels. :biggrin.gif:
On my Mac: Photoshop, Pixen (buggy, but good)
On my iPad: Sprite Something (a little rough around the edges, but promising with seemingly good dev support)
When I used to use Windows: Graphics Gale
Thanks for the nice words, all!
Great pack BTW, I feel like I'm playing Katamari.
