This pack have grown on me so much, I didn't really like it at first, but I kept seeing it and tried it out. Been using it for a couple of days now and LOVE it.
I have remade a bit of the textures tough, like glass, planks, leaves.
Hey, so I've been using this pack for a while but would you be able to make the wood darker? As in the planks. They're a bit too bright.
people keep asking this but dont they see there were darker planks included as an option? unless maybe they dont know how to cut them and stick em over the top of the other ones, maybe frenden needs to make another zip file that has one with darker wood option for ppl to DL.
I'm using a lot of texture packs, and each time there is a new one coming out I go check it out. But I keep coming back to your pack, I can't help myself but think it's more minecraft-ish!
but srl keep expanding your pack it look great!
p.s. I realy like your wood plank, I think they are the right color.

hey dude, just wanted to say I love your pack. You're crazy talented, I checked out your other art and that's awesome too. Had you ever done any texture sets before this? Seems like you've got a great sense of the level of detail and interest to add so it tiles nicely and isn't distracting.
I focused on hue and value first with my textures. I laid out "blank" colors and tried to make a color harmony before bothering to detail everything. How things worked together was my first priority. I tried to avoid patterns with obvious tessellation too.
I worked as a UI person, then 2D artist (sprite fella), then art director for a failed handheld games publisher. They folded before we released our first title - lots of layoffs, and a limited staff. Towards the end, I was the only guy making all the art assets! Still, it was good experience. Most of my art experience is in commercial illustration like the work on my site, though.
Nice to see the blue zombie getting some play, Damian.
if only there was an easier way of switching between official and alt-blocks...
btw, I think the iron door in:

should be the official one, or at least be included in the alternate choices
I think I've said this in all my posts on the thread, but seriously, BEST.PACK.EVER, the only thing that needs a slight tweaking imo is the grass, I don't know how to explain it but... putting some kinda "border" on it, so it's easier to tell where a block ends and the next one begins, it's certainly important when looking down and deciding wether or not the fall is gonna be nothing, hurt a little, fracture a bone or two, or downright kill you

Thats what the black outline when you mouse over blocks is for... i downright love that the blocks mesh together to give it a more natural look

Your pack is amazing. I use it all the time, and I love the way it makes everything look more vibrant. Great job!

Thanks! I manually drew the gradients in the biome to get just the right amount of fade. I actually spent a fair amount of time on that.
I thought that including a custom foliagecolor.png and grasscolor.png with a texture pack didn't work, except if you inserted the new files directly into the .jar file. Has this been fixed, then?
Then it would look weird when you cut down a birch tree and it has oak bark.

They aren't exact with the actual slots, but look nice when you don't hover. Too lazy to move them over right now.

Thanks for all the hard work.
