Hey, Meringue and ScottJ! Long time no talk. I took a bit of a hiatus from playing (if not updating) myself, but have returned to the fold too. I'm digging dispensers.
I'd like to do something for Mo Creatures and Wildgrass, but I haven't looked into how to do so yet.
Bolognatony, I am the same Frenden that does the comic style art. My site. My twitter.
It makes me feel like I've done something worthwhile to read comments from people that have been using the pack for nearly half a year. :smile.gif:
Jesus, I ****ing love your art style C:
I really need to get back into drawing and stop wasting time in general.
When did you first start drawing, and do you use a tablet/ which one? I'm just curious
Lilyo, I will try to answer as helpfully as possible. I'm self-taught. I'd drawn most of my childhood, but never formally and never for more than my own entertainment. I made stories and comics and drew doodles making fun of teachers - the normal sort of thing. I stopped in highschool because the allure of the opposite sex became too strong and any effort not spent in the pursuit of them seemed wasteful. :tongue.gif:
I picked drawing back up in late 2004-ish. I'd say I've spent five years seriously drawing. I started digitally and recommend doing the opposite. In the last two years I've rediscovered analog materials and the lack of a cognitive disconnect between your drawing and your pencil or brush (versus your stylus, monitor, and tablet) feels much more natural. I do 90% of my work with a brush, nib and ink and only resort to digital if I have a client insisting on lots of changes to the artwork.
That said, I get similar results in any medium. Be it wash/watercolor, brush and ink, pen, digital, ballpoint, pencil, etc. Worry less about the tools and more about the practice necessary to get better. Lifedrawing - the really boring technical stuff - is the quickest way to get better. Draw anything and everything. Never stop drawing. I don't care if it's with a piece of chalk or a pen or a stylus or whatever. You just need to draw. Here's some of my work delineated into categories. Most of the work I have on Flickr is a couple years old, so it skews heavily towards digital.
Awesome! I knew I recognized your name. I've watched all of your illustration videos, and found them very informative and entertaining. Do you plan on doing any more?

If you say "plz" because it's shorter than "please" we say no because its shorter than yes.
Hey, Frenden, i have to say that i love your texture pack, is so awesome
So i was using wild grass and your pack, but since wild grass require the default texture pack, i got to copy the texture of wild grass to your pack, but i have bettergrass installed and this happens
Here is the texture with wildgrass
And the screenshot of the game
I really like your texture pack, Frenden. I really really do, so much that I'm using it. But I think there are some things that I think it could be fixed or changed.
[*:1ky5i83a]The wood plank look a lot like sand. I get confused sometimes. Can you make it a little bit darker?
[*:1ky5i83a]The enemies faces are kinda funny, but I really miss the original faces. Creepers aren't the same without their sorrowful face.
[*:1ky5i83a]You're an incredible illustrator. You could, maybe, exchange all the paints with your drawings. The game would look better and we would have more stimulus to make portraits in game.
[*:1ky5i83a]I forgot that I could use armor one time because the GUI doesn't show their slots one time. Maybe could put them back, even if they're very subtle. Just like a reminder that there are things to put there.
[*:1ky5i83a]You could make the colored wool patterns more subtle too, I guess. They're cool though.
[*:1ky5i83a]Oh! There's the yellow flower that you painted white, like a daisy. Shouldn't it become yellow again to make more sense when we are squashing it savagely to the death to make yellow dye?
[*:1ky5i83a]The iron axe looks somewhat like a shovel. It just looks a little bit weird. Maybe you want to take a look.
[*:1ky5i83a]Bones appear like skulls. It looks weird. Couldn't it be a femur again?
[*:1ky5i83a]The moon looks like a right arrow. Shouldn't it be more "round" to look like a crescent?
Now I'll stop nagging. Just consider these things if you're at least planning making a texture creator, please.
To the post above me...
What's with the overuse of the word subtle? And the yellow flowers are yellow, but just in the middle. The moon is quite rounded, but sometimes it appears to be a chevron, but it still looks like a crescent. And I like the faces, makes me not soil my pants everytime I see a monster.

Haha, the only thing I am scared of no matter what is the sound of a bow. Why? No idea, but I can stand creepers but not skeletons.
Damn you bone meal.
First off, the custom pumpkin ui is pretty awesome; only probably is that when you put it on the face is backwards. Woo I am helping out again! :biggrin.gif:

It's a LOLNotch bug, not a problem with the texture pack. =)

I still soil my pants each time I see a zombie.

In other news, my Wacom Cintiq has died, I suspect, which is a major bummer. :|
