I didn't like the dirt either - or the sand. I really thought I would, too. I'm sold on the new containers and I have yet another new crafting station done (PNG above is updated to reflect it).
WOW, the new textures are absolutely superb! I really like the oozing moss look on the moss stone and the new furnace textures. By the way xau's HD texture fix now supports custom portal textures. You plan on taking a crack at it?

I dig that. Making the grass more abstract to match that alternative/geometrically abstract dirt is a good idea. With your permission, I could include something similar as an option in the customizer?
I will be sticking with the old dirt texture as the default, though. (The original, not the one from this test PNG.) The geometric diamond pattern seemed out of place with the rest of the pack as the main dirt texture.
Truth be told, I was so dissapointed with the geometric attempt, that I went in the opposite direction and am now working on what I'm calling the "detailed" version of my pack. It's where I was taking the 32x32 version, but done in 16x16. Cartoony, but less abstract and more defined. I'm super excited with how it's turning out.
I have done almost all the textures in this more detailed style and I think they'll fit in great with the double-res mobs I'm working on.
What's that supposed to be? Some sort of extra hard mode where all gems are hidden? :tongue.gif:

When I first saw the diamonds, i was instantly reminded of sonic 2's emerald hill zone:
Great work with those, but i hope you leave simpler textures as an option in the customizer.
If it gets too far away from this pack, I may release it as something different altogether.
