This is a really well done texture pack. I think minecraft looks really good in this style. You have done an excellent job on all the textures. Amazing texture pack. Cheers.
Edit: I didn't even realize that this was a 16x16 texture pack! It looks like it's done in a higher resolution. There is no pixelation on any of the textures in game. This makes it even more amazing to me. I had no idea 16x16 could look this good. I must say, i am very impressed. Well done. Thanks again.
Thanks! I tried to keep things as minimal and clean as possible with a focus on colors that work well together.

Hi Frenden, love your texture pack. Thought I'd share my minecraft flickr gallery.
Rhetorical nonsequiter: the ambient occlusion mod has me wondering - is rendering the mobs with a cel shaded style outline possible as a mod? That would be super fantastico.
The size of the blocks favors a minmal approach. Tessellation is pretty obvious in more realistic textures because they repeat sooooo often given the small size of the cubes in game. It's a challenge, but I'm excited to be working on a new pack to compliment this one; I've got a bunch of work to do tonight and tomorrow and CoD BO is calling my name too. I probably won't start anytime this week.
Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent pack. Here's a few pics of my current world. I've made a few tweaks of some of the textures so some things might look a slight bit different. I'm also using the ambient Occlusion mod which goes great with these.
after lookin for biomes a little bit in a newly made level i discovered that i love the colors this texture pack gives the terrain, but i really dislike the ice texture. from a distance it looks like an oil spill, it looks all black and pretty gross, and then when you get up close it just looks weird because you can pretty much see infinitely through the water o.O
everything else pretty much looks great!i havent used this pack in a long time so i havent seen all the updated things yet, but trying it out again makes me love it so much
I can post the terrain here, but I don't want to put it here unless it's ok with Frenden. (It's his pack after all) If Frenden would rather not have it here, I can send it to you private.
The big changes I have made include:
-sand color a bit closer to the default
-deeper colored lumber (A bit more saturation and darker)
-gravel looks like a darker version of sand (between sand and dirt)
-Cobble is a light grey version of the brick texture
-ore textures are re-done to make them more minimal
that's all I can think of now, although there may be some others,... I tend to tweak a lot.

I adore Frenden's pack, absolutely adore it. In no way am I looking for a superior version of it, I am only interested in what your modifications look like, as they interest me.
Nah, didn't mean to imply one version was better than any other,... just wanted to respect the texture maker by not posting a changed set in his own thread.
Here's a file that shows some of the changed tiles though.

ok, here are my changes. I've also put up my changes to the biome colors. Everything is a more colorful, and the dry areas go into full fall colors with some randomness.
When I install this pack my grass is a sort of fluorescent lime green and looks nothing like the screenshots I see here. Has this happened with anyone else? I have reinstalled the pack and entire game several times.
You're probably just in a different biome than the one the screenshot was taken in. This texture pack really exaggerates the color differences between biomes.
At least I think.. I've noticed the grass in my city can go anwhere from lime green to kraft cheese powder orange in the space of about 50 meters. And this was all created BEFORE biomes so technically it should all be uniform, no?

Nah, Biomes get applied to existing worlds. (There is no "null" or "no biome" option because the grass color is gray/white unless a Biome is applied. Every block [or is it column] has a biome.)

I love seeing what other people make!
Could you share your edited terrain.png file? I'd like to see how this looks in my world. Thanks!
not saying the original pack isnt amazing or anything, its just... for the sake of science of course! *munch munch*

What an interestingly awesome idea!
Could you share your terrain file with me too?
Please?
