I've never used a texture pack like this before. But today, with a little color editing, you got me to use this. I love it. My old texture pack was getting boring. This is exactly what I needed! THANK YOU!
I really like this pack - in my opinion highly stylized packs for Minecraft are the way to go - not some kind of attempts at more realism which makes no sense given Minecraft's structure and graphics engine.
However, I'd also like to see at least SOME kind of detail on lava and water - some small and very faint waves or bubbles or something. The current textures don't even give an indication in which direction fluids are flowing, which is annoying - obviously I'm talking about the client with patched Water/Lava.
I thought we still couldn't if we wanted animation. Same with lava, no? If I'm wrong, that would be awesome. I would definitely like to get rid of that blue hue for the water and make my own simplified lava.

I wasn't aware that you could do your own custom lava+water with that now. Cool. Anyways, I tried applying your pack with this, and it worked fine except for the char.png. I fiddled around with it a bit and figured out that instead of putting all the images in a folder and then putting the folder in the zip, you should just skip the folder all together and just put the images in like this. That'll apply the pack and it'll apply the char.png correctly.

I didn't/don't have the mods installed for water/lava. So, to me, they are just the default skins. I'll redraw the water and lava for version 1.1 of the map pack, for sure. Doh!

Im not gonna lie, i love the **** out of this. its so amazing. I think you should do what painterly did though and set it up so everything has options, like, i like darker woods, so id like the option to have my wood be darker. Id also like a more black obsidian. Love the idea though. Cant wait to see how this evolves further.

The only minor problem I had is I thought the planks were darker... in the inventory I get it mixed up with sand occasionally since it's so light. Is there an alternate where the planks are darker?

The GUI was the last thing I did and is admittedly placeholder. I'll be making an update to everything after Halloween. I want to wait and see how many new assets will be required and do all the changes at once.
