Hi all, I've gone and "patched" Frenden's Cartoon Pack to work with 1.0 (as in, just copied over missing items/terrain from the default set-- doesn't look great, but it'll do). I was wondering, is this something I can post here? Or would you rather I not distribute it, Frenden? (considering it is basically a hack and not actually your work). I wanted to help those who wanted to use the pack but I also was a little unsure about what you are/aren't comfortable with folks doing.

Frenden does not like people distributing any type of altered pack unfortunately.

You'll note the pack is open source and has been for some time. I posted several times in this thread saying as much since around the time of the leaked prereleases.

I went back and looked through the posts about it being open source, and I think I'm correct in inferring that means that I can post a link to the "patched" texture pack:
However, if I interpreted what you said incorrectly, I will edit this post and take down the link at once. I really appreciate all the work you've put in and don't want to harm you in any way! I tried to clearly indicate that the pack is unofficial and a patched version of your work.

As a matter of fact, it's so unofficial that none of the textures show up!=P
When I used the pack, it just came up as all of the default textures.
Here is the fixed link to my "patch" of Frenden's Cartoon Pack (I just brought over items/terrain from the default). Not sure if it'll work with Beta 1.8 though, but it should work with Beta 1.9/Minecraft 1.0.

Do you think you can do the same thing with Frenden's Detailed pack?

Maybe? I've only used the Cartoon pack so I wouldn't know if things looked wrong with the Detailed one. Also, as far as I can tell from that thread, it's only the terrain.png that has been made so far-- is this right? Or is there a more complete release somewhere else?

Oh yeah it is just terrain. I totally forgot that his Detailed Pack was still in Heavy Beta.
I would gladly use that patched version if it was put out.

Really? I may have made the zip file incorrectly-- I will be able to check later today, sorry about this!
Awesome!!!
But why isn't it 1.8/1.0?
Because it's not updated.

It it works with 1.9+ then it will work on 1.8.
Texturepacks are backwards compatible.
