I hope this is my last post this morning. This started out using Frenden's pack as a base awhile back. When you look at it, you can tell is was based off of Frenden's style/work, but it's completely different. If you can do that, and not just change some colors and overlay some shitty swirls, then we might be ok. But like I said, I'm done. The mods will be in soon and they'll handle this.

Kris, those aren't mine. Clearly the spirals Xaiwaker used were from that pack. I thought the spirals were the one original aspect of it. Apparently not.
*also on a side note non of the texture packs are original as they come from notch's original work so your whole argument is pretty much invalid about yours being original *
Seeing as his texture pack is NOT edited versions of the default but instead were literally hand drawn by him on an iPad, such as a painter would do on a canvas; There is nothing in this pack that is a work of Notch. Frenden literally made this texture pack from scratch, drawing out every pixel that you see in it now. So it is no longer just an edit, it is something completely original, and therefor a new work of art that he has the right to prohibit others from stealing from. Now go away before I taunt you aaaaa second tieme!
And anyways, I had always used the default texture pack (with my own tweaks) when I played seriously, as I had never found a texture pack that was better than it. Until I found this one. But instead of being content with the love I had for it, I switched back to my tweaked version of the default, and couldn't stand it. And so now I've been working like crazy to get my default remix to look better than this one, and it's giving me headaches, and stuff, but the reason I told this story is because this is the kind of inspiration that Frenden probably hopes to give, not a "remix" in which all the textures are just moved about versions of his. Although mine is basically a moved about version of the default right now, the difference is that Notch allows people to steal default textures, while Frenden doesn't.

I can see from the last few pages of this thread that our fantastic moderation team continue to do a bang-up job keeping these forums free from trolls and stupidity.

This pack has always been a ray of sunshine in a sea of toomuch/toolittle detail mediocrity in the texture pack world.
Oh, Ray. People like Xaivern and his supporters have been taking credit for other's artwork since the Renaissance. Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything you could say or do to help them understand - Xiavern said himself he doesn't consider "a bunch of damn pixels" to be art that is worthy of protecting.
If the moderation team had any backbone whatsoever, they would remove Xiavern's thread and waste their time policing his packs (Someone clearly has to from now on); and I would encourage anyone reading to periodically check his .zip files and report the download link if it contains any copied or derivative work of Frendens.
I really hope this experience hasn't ruined the enjoyment you get from creating artwork for the community - there are dozens of us who truly appreciate the hardwork you put into it (even if we can't show you we care through paypal)

The general opinion on mixed packs is already obvious in Doku's poll, I have no idea why no action has been made by the Mods so far. :huh.gif:
