Great patcher! Can someone please explain what the 4 different checkboxes for lava and water do? I don't know how to choose between the game's defaults, animated versions that come with the patcher, the blocks from terrain.png, and custom_water_flowing etc.
If you have nothing checked the animations will be removed and the still texture in terrain.png will come through.
If you have "Animated Water" checked the default animations will be resized and drawn over the ones in terrain.png.
If you have "Custom Water" checked and no custom_*.png files, the four flowing water tiles from terrain.png will be scrolled automatically.
If you have "Custom Water" checked and there is a custom_water_flowing.png and/or custom_water_still.png, it will use one square at a time from them going down vertically to animate the water.
Great thanks for taking the time to respond. Finally got some sweet custom_* files together and working. Patcher works great.
"If you have "Custom Water" checked and no custom_*.png files, the four flowing water tiles from terrain.png will be scrolled automatically." If you're looking for ideas, one thing you could do is make the still water wiggle one or two pixels back and forth diagonally. Just an idea, I use animations because they are more versatile anyway.
However, whenever I place a block that has a different texture on top, it just displays this void. While helpful if you want a peek at caves and whatnot, it's not if you're aiming for aesthetic purposes.
It doesn't happen to me and I don't know anything the patcher does that would cause it. Please provide as much detail as possible: a link to the exact .zip you are using, any other mods you have installed, etc.
Well I got the painterly pack from the official customizer, and the hd fix from a .rar of aageons bumpmapped pack.
However, I do have better light and better grass installed as well if that helps anything.
Thanks Xau the 1.1.12 Pre Patch thing worked like A charm.Had absolutely no problems this time with it and after A long absence Runecraft is back up.Thanks! :biggrin.gif:
First off, I love your mod, it allows me to use mah texture pack. YAY!
Anyways, here's the problem. When I use another mod that adds new items which are NOT in terrain.png and in their own png files, then your mod causes problems once I go HD. Two examples would be Fancypack Mod and Shockah's Mod.
All that happens is that all the images DONT look at the HD custom images I made for them (which are in the texture pack zip and also scaled up the same as the texture pack)
All that happens is the images either show a pink square (looking in terrain png for the item that isn't there) Or completely invisible. (Because it looks in item.png and finds no image there)
The items are fine, it's only that they are invisible. D:
Could you please look into this in the next (and hopefully soon) update?
I'm getting an error in the logs with a fresh bin folder. If I ignore and patch anyway (with any texture pack doesn't matter) Minecraft will hang right before the menu appears. Any ideas, I've got the latest version and I've re-downloaded the jar multiple times.

DO NOT QUOTE/REPEAT YOUR OWN POST ON THE SAME PAGE
I will add you to my ignore list and will never read your post or any future posts you make.
I did respond to you. But don't bother now.
Dear Xau,
I must apologize for my earlier post as I was a complete ****. I failed for head the warning of the big red text on the first page AND acted like a complete idiot and jerk. (As I also hastily read though your post looking for a reply to me and missed the reply you already gave me.) Again I am sorry for what I have done and shall never repeat the same mistake. I understand that you put that rule in place to get rid of all those idiots who ask a question and then do the exact same thing I did. (Which is quote it again, again and again.) Although, when you are in panic because your game isn't properly playable you tend to get worried. Which again is my mistake as I should have remained more level headed and calm.
Finally, I must include a paragraph of well typed apologies in as many ways as possible without annoying and/or spamming. I am sorry for getting too worried and not remaining calm. I am sorry for NOT reading the big red text in the first post (heh, reminds me of the person who never reads instructions for games and just jumps in only to fail utterly and completely, that being me) which was clearly there for you to have a better peace of mind. I am sorry for the troubles you go through and me just being here being a **** increasing the problems you have. I am sorry for quoting my post on the same page and hastily reading through your post not noticing you already did comment on mine and just being plain stupid and annoying you even though I didn't mean to.
Oh and wonderful mod by the way, it makes my (and hundreds of others') game much nicer with Higher Definition texture packs and/or items.
Alright mate,
First off I like the sound of this mod but unfortunately it killed my minecraft :sad.gif: . I read the first post informing forum goers that whining and saying "I GET A BLACK SCREEN" is unhelpful...but I do get a black screen.
Upon pressing "Run Minecraft" on your mod this is the code that pops up:-
If Chuck Norris and the internet had a baby together, it would be YOU (or Notch, not exactly sure though).
Thanks either way

Your minecraft.jar is read-only or owned by an administrator or something. Try running the patcher as admin or use the Minecraft Folder button to go in and turn off read-only.
YES! THANK YOU! YOU ARE A GOD! Now I can finally use texture packs without the annoying non-animated water/lava and bugs that make bricks and ore blocks look like they'd been stuck in a blender with fire and portals.

My Website. I make mods for Minecraft and am also making my own game.
So I tried to set up the Gerudoku texture pack, and everything seemed fine when it patched and it even launched fine when I clicked Test Minecraft. But when I launched the actual application and tried to login, I got this error message.
I'm running on Mac OSX version 10.5.8.

Can someone help? I downloaded both the zip and the patcher but when I select the zip in the patcher browser it says
all this java stuff in a different window. Btw, this is on mac. Any and all help is appreciated.
When i try to patch Minecraft.jar for JohnSmiths v6 pack, it stops on 23% and this is what Java's window says :

Is it possible to slow the water animations by any means other than increasing the frame count? I'm hitting the 32K pixel limit and this water is still too fast. Has this ever been addressed since it was first implemented?

Use the latest patcher from the first post in this thread. If it still breaks, post the actual texture pack on mediafire or something.
I did respond to you. But don't bother now.
Any word on this possibility? I'll be glad to test for you if that helps.

Retired StaffTry again...except don't use the patcher to launch the game. After it is done patching, close Xau's and run the game normally.
"This may hurt a little, but it's something you'll get used to...."
Thanks either way

Awesome mod by the way
Can do! (except it would be in a dropbox, mediafire is evil.

It has also replaced the default texture pack with the painterly.
