I tried skipping through to see if anyone had any of the "black screen" issues they're having, but none of the solutions seem to be helping. The patcher works fine, and when I press "Test Minecraft" it works fine, it's only when I load the actual game that after I get past the Mojang logo it goes completely black and lags out. I have tried deleting my bin folder and let it redownload, but that doesn't seem to work. I apologize if this problem has been asked numerous times, but i'd appreciate any and all help I can get :smile.gif:. Also, i'm using the LB Photo Realism 256 x 256 pack.
Thanks!
**EDIT**
Nevermind, I won't even bother i'll get hated on ;P.
i followed ALL the steps, and i have a problem. minecraft is epicly lagging. i took at least 2 minutes just to make my charachter turn all the way around

Don't message me on either of these, unless you have a really good reason.
Great patcher! Can someone please explain what the 4 different checkboxes for lava and water do? I don't know how to choose between the game's defaults, animated versions that come with the patcher, the blocks from terrain.png, and custom_water_flowing etc.
Okay so I'm trying to install the painterly pack with custom water, it worked and the water looks awesome!
However, whenever I place a block that has a different texture on top, it just displays this void. While helpful if you want a peek at caves and whatnot, it's not if you're aiming for aesthetic purposes.
If anyone has an idea on how to remedy this, feel free to chime up.
So I'm guessing this is devoid of new developments?
Im having a slight issue...it is always removing all the mod that i have added to the game... am i doing somthing wrong if so can someone explain to me how to fix it
There is a problem on wools. After I do the patch and it was a perfect success! :biggrin.gif:
but the WOOLS!
the wools are just plain brown, its not the color that it is suppose to be. Is there already an update on this or not? Please tell me, in case I am glitching or its just not updated. THANKS
First off, I love your mod, it allows me to use mah texture pack. YAY!
Anyways, here's the problem. When I use another mod that adds new items which are NOT in terrain.png and in their own png files, then your mod causes problems once I go HD. Two examples would be Fancypack Mod and Shockah's Mod.
All that happens is that all the images DONT look at the HD custom images I made for them (which are in the texture pack zip and also scaled up the same as the texture pack)
All that happens is the images either show a pink square (looking in terrain png for the item that isn't there) Or completely invisible. (Because it looks in item.png and finds no image there)
The items are fine, it's only that they are invisible. D:
Could you please look into this in the next (and hopefully soon) update?
First off Hello and yes, ive read all 69 pages.. and my eyes hurt now.
Anywho, heres my problem. Im trying to patch for a 64x (Dantes Albion) texture patch.... I follow instructions shown below (Example 1), run the patcher (Example 2) I choose the "Test Minecraft" option in the patcher and everything working as it should. I close minecraft and reopen it and after waiting nearly 25 seconds i get an error and cant launch Minecraft (example 3). Im getting the same results on my Desktop and Laptop. Both running 64 Bit Vista. I have no trouble with this on my work pc running xp.If i delete the version or bin folder i can play with the standard texture.. but who wants that.
Javas been uninstalled and reinstalled.
Minecraft's been uninstalled and reinstalled.
Everything is up to date.
EXAMPLE 1
1. Locate and go to your minecraft bin folder. Delete the following files (if they are there)
a. minecraft.original.jar
b. minecraft.mrmbackup.jar
c. minecraft-1.1_02.jar
d. version
2. Run the MC client, it will force a clean install and update to the latest version.
3. put the contents of the texture pack inside the minecraft.jar archive in the bin folder.
4. Download the latest HD texture fix from Xau and patch as following:
a. select 64x64.
b. leave all boxes ticked.
c. do not change/set a path for a texture pack. Its not needed.
5. Run the MC client again. It should work..

When i patch using the instructions on the first page of this thread everything goes fine, i patch, hit test, the texture i want shows up..... BUT.. when I close Minecraft and relaunch it, the default texture is present.
0. Open Minecraft and switch to the default textures.
1. Download and run the latest file for your OS below.
2. If the file fields are not automatically filled in, hit the top browse button and find your minecraft.jar
3. Hit the browse button next to "Texture Pack" and find the .zip file for the texture pack you want to use.
4. Click patch.
5. When it's done, click Test Minecraft. If it doesn't work, follow the instructions at the top of this post. If it does, you can launch Minecraft normally.
I keep getting the following error each time I try and patch it. I am using a zip file with the texture pack in it, which requested that I use this program. I have the Minecraft application in on my desktop, along with this application and the zip folder. I'm not very good with programming, so I feel that it may be something simple. If you could help me out that would be great (also, I'm sorry if this has already been posted, but there a lot of posts to sift through). Thanks.

Out of curiosity, anyone know what actually causes the HD texture glitches?
Animated textures are drawn on top of terrain.png while the game runs, at particular pixel locations. When you use a bigger terrain.png, they're drawn at the wrong place (and are still 16x16).

If you have nothing checked the animations will be removed and the still texture in terrain.png will come through.
If you have "Animated Water" checked the default animations will be resized and drawn over the ones in terrain.png.
If you have "Custom Water" checked and no custom_*.png files, the four flowing water tiles from terrain.png will be scrolled automatically.
If you have "Custom Water" checked and there is a custom_water_flowing.png and/or custom_water_still.png, it will use one square at a time from them going down vertically to animate the water.

Try the .jar version.

This sounds like it's patching a different minecraft.jar than you're running normally. Make sure there is no minecraft.jar in the same directory as the patcher and that you're using the normal launcher.
Quote from Kumanji »
The patcher also won't touch anything that isn't a completely unmodified minecraft.jar
Yes it will.

does this work with 1.2_02? Because every time I use it gets a black screen after i log in and it has no error.
Yes. Please read the first post. Look for giant red letters. If you find a part that says 'do not say "I get a black screen,"' you're in the right place.
