when i try and upload the minecraft.jar file it just says there was an error opening minecraft.jar saying it was already patched and i have never patched it before. pleas help

I need some help, The 128x texture pack I use the creator came out with a 256x version and when I patched it I can use minecraft from the test minecraft button in the patcher but when I try to log on from the launcher it gets to the mojang specifications screen and then exits on it's own no error message or anything.
do you ahve 64 bit windows? i so, download 64 bit java. that should fix the problem. It's because HD texture packs eat up RAM and 32bit java can't handle the amount needed. but if you don't have 64 bit windows, I'm afraid you're out of luck. you'll have to stick with 128x.
(if it is the minecraft enhanced pack, most of that is just 128 upscaled, even thugh he says it's not)

Okay, not much to say here... I went through the steps as told, exactly how they said, and there was still fire inside of gold, magma and water on a chest, etc. I'm using Glimmar's Steampunk pack. I'll provide more info if you ask for it. Danke.
Ok can someone help me please? I am trying to install the Rezcraft mod using this HD patcher and every time I open it everything is filled in so I select the .zip of the texture pack and it changes to 64x. Then when I hit patch every time it immediately gets to 29% and then stops responding.

I am running this on a Mac, and If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.
I took the the files and set them into the texture folder then it froze and crashed giving me this error ....... so i deleted all files that i could find related to Minecraft including minecraft itself and re downloaded minecraft onto my computer .....i still see the same crash/error message at the Mojang opening screen...I even bought a new account and its still doing it

Singleplayer works fine for me, but after patching, I can't connect to Multiplayer servers. All I get is a "bad login" error.

Aside from an FPS boost, it makes playing over VNC more compatible.
You wont get a FPS boost with anything 16x16 and below.The resolution of the texture is so low at that point that your graphics card is basically saying can you feed me some more, even on integrated crap cards.
Sorry I'm new to this but I have indeed noticed changes to the graphics but how do I make everything have more pixels? do I simply just edit the terrain.png etc to a higher resolution or what?

When applying the patch, lapis lazuli ore blocks seem to take on an animated fire texture in 16x16, in 32x32 they're just entirely transparent. They appear perfectly fine before patching (in either resolution).
only custom water/lava is checked, only other mod is betterlight. I invedited some here:

I cant' copy the log output because of that and no one seems to know how to fix it.
I am trying to use the REZCRAFT texture pack.
I am on a Mac.
I have tried to use both the Mac .dmg file and the .jar file and neither program worked, but the .jar did get to 46%, while the .dmg only gets to 29%.
If you can, please help me.
