I'm having a problem getting my texture pack to install. It gets stuck on reading misc/dial.png. I tried deleting the dial.png and installing the pack but then it reads it and gets stuck on resizing the original to 128x128. Any ideas?
EDIT: Temporarily solved my problem. I removed the mob and customer lava/water/portal files and it seemed to install fine. All of those were taken from Misa's 64x64 realistic texture pack, any ideas why they are causing this?
I was trying to install the "Minecraft Enhanced" Pack (128x), and was just getting a black screen, so i reinstalled and tried Aza's Arid pack (also 128x) and got a similar outcome. When testing minecraft, I get the following log:

How do i get custom portals to not be greyed out?
There needs to be a custom_portal.png in the texture pack you are installing. There is no 'automatic' custom animation like for water and lava. Also please don't post the same thing 3 times on one page.

It works, but with fire and portals covering my blocks and the fire and portals animation being borked
Can you post the pack?

When patching the game to get the painterlypack custom water everything works fine with the exception of one thing.
Sandstone Blocks are missing their top and bottom textures, eventhough they are clearly there in the png.
Only this block has a problem.
Please post the zip.

Okay question, I'm working off of a Macbook Pro. The texture pack I'd like to use is in a folder and not in a .zip file. I try to use the folder as the texture pack but I'm not allowed to select the whole folder for use. I hope I didn't miss anything anywhere but I'm at a loss here. Could I get some assistance?
Put it in a zip file.

The finder for AnimManager needs to be tightened up a little I guess. In the mean time you could try patching before installing whatever other mod is causing this. If it doesn't work you'll just have to decide which one you like more.

I experimented around and found that it only failed if I enabled either Custom Water or Custom Lava. Here's the log when I enable everything except Custom Lava:
Upon starting minecraft after patching its crashes out. I run the "test minecraft" in the patcher program and it works fine, but whenever i try to run the actual program it gets to the logo and then the window disappears. I'm running minecraft on mac osx if that helps.
First off I'd like to say sorry if this problem has been answered in the pages before, or if this is the wrong place to seek help.
I'm using a version of Minecraft that uses the WildGrass mod and the JohnSmith texture pack. When I don't update the texture pack, everything but the water (which becomes small blue lines) has no texture problems. But when I use MCPatcher to fix said water problems, this happens (big picture so I'm just linking it): http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y257/V ... 114619.png
Like I said, this happens even after patching JohnSmith. My Nether portals also glitch from the regular purple portals into solid blue, and the patcher won't allow me the option to patch that either since the checkbox is grayed out. Basically it seems like the patcher doesn't patch JohnSmith V5, even on a vanilla version of MC.
As you can probably imagine from this post, I'm as far from an avid mod user as they come. I'd just like to use a fully patched JohnSmith along with WildGrass (and it IS possible from screens I've seen!) with no texture problems but I can't seem to figure out how. D:
For some reason every time I run the patcher it deletes ALL of my mods in the minecraft.jar folder and whats weird is that this has NEVER happened before so why is this happening now? Theres no error log or anything I can show you. Just something I figured out.
So I was getting a 32x32 Texture Pack, and then I realized that I forgot to get the HD Mod. I removed the Texture Pack and nothing else from the Minecraft File. When I went into the game, I clicked 'Login', but I get about a second of loading and then a black screen. No Mojang screen before that. I followed a few situations similar to mine, but no dice with any of them. I installed mcpatcher, but when I access it, all it says is:
"There was an error opening minecraft.jar. This may be because:
-The file has already been patched
-There was an update this patcher could not handle
-There is another, conflicting mod applied
-The jar file is invalid or corrupt
You can re-download the original minecraft.jar by deleting your minecraft/bin folder and running the game normally.
Please see log window for more details."

I am amazingly confused as to how to use this. I click 'Browse' then, attempt to find my ZIP file. It says there are no items to match my search,l when it's on my desktop. What the HECK am I supposed to DO with it?! I can't find the files to patch it! Please, provide instructions on how to FIND your stuff. >>
Thanks for the updated patch, works just great.
However, it seems like the animations are all a bit too fast (I'm using Misa's 64x pack). The water and portal don't bug me too much, but the lava really seems way too fast to me.
Also, were you planning on adding a Custom Fire option too? (Not that big of a deal, but I just dislike the original fire)
woops... missed the part about "don't post "i got the same error as so-and-so" sorry, it wouldn't let me copy the error message, so i just posted that.
alright so here's my full error report
