Instead of following the included directions in the Mixcraft Texture Pack, I just followed the directions in the he links from his forum.
===== ORIGINAL =====
I've tried searching for my error in the forums, but the closest hit I got was "You're missing water.png, put it back." I checked the updated minecraft folder used to create minecraft.jar and water.png exists (plus the line numbers and code files are different from the earlier report). I have no texture packs installed other than this current attempt at the Mixcraft Texture Pack below.
Info:
Mac OS X (i386) version 10.6.5
$ java -version
java version "1.6.0_22"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_22-b04-307-10M3261)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 17.1-b03-307, mixed mode)
Steps:
[*:2gpf70u6] Latest and greatest updated Minecraft
[*:2gpf70u6] Copied HD Texture files of Mixcraft Texture Pack 21.1
[alphalist=a]
[*:2gpf70u6] Extract minecraft.jar using "Archive Utility"
[*:2gpf70u6] Copy HD Texture (better) files into minecraft/, overwriting existing files
[*:2gpf70u6] Recreate minecraft.jar with our modified files with `jar cvf minecraft.jar -C minecraft/ .`[/alphalist]
[*:2gpf70u6] Used latest patcher from this thread (mcpatcher-1.1.10_01) and placed in my bin/ folder
[*:2gpf70u6] Accepted defaults (original ./minecraft-1.1_02.jar, output ./minecraft.jar, 32x32, all images selected).
[*:2gpf70u6] Start Minecraft normally (not via "Test Minecraft", which gives the same issue for single-player anyways).
Here's the error I get when trying to start a single- or multi-player game (after logging into my account):
Minecraft has crashed!

--- END ERROR REPORT c9804ebf ----------
I used this today to try and put a pack in my game. I did what I needed to do but it messed up my file and the game won't open. I tried erasing the .minecraft folder but it wont let me. Please could someone help me!
So, i saw 2 new ways to install the texture packs, i tried them both and when I'm by water i just lag HARD to 2fps max. it did sit at Replacing WaterAnimation.class for a while while installing, i've got a fresh jar and patch for both new installations. Welcome to Beta i guess. Don't forget about me :biggrin.gif:
Alright, so I have been using the patcher for a while now and I've had no problems. Until now. All of a sudden, when I tried changing the texture pack I was using to a new one (after restoring the default graphics), the patcher just freezes. No error report comes up on the patcher or on Minecraft. I wish I could copy the log for you, but as I said, it completely froze. I'm using a Mac, trying to install Aza's Arid Texture Pack. Last I tried, it froze at "Replacing bc.class." On Minecraft itself, when I try to log in, it brings up the downloading screen saying "Done loading" with the bar about 7/8 of the way filled. I have played around and managed to find that I can run minecraft normally if I delete the .bin file and run minecraft, letting it re-download everything, but every time I try the patcher, the same thing happens. I have no idea what's going on with it.

try checking to make sure the water animation files are the correct resolution for your pack. i used the wrong size once and it killed the game for me. i couldn't play for more then a minute at a time. (i like using water so...)
I had the Pre render 1281: Invalid value error. Deleting options.txt fixed the problem, however every time I restart the game my options go back to default. How do I fix this as I prefer a different control setup and don’t want to have to change all my keys around every time I start minecraft. Anyone?
Hi there, I was using the patcher and I ran into some trouble, minecraft crashed on me after applying the HD texture pack, I'll give you the specifics and the error log as per your prerequisites.
1. I was trying to use Rezcraft, all of the options were selected for the patching. The Texture Pack is 64, so I used the 64 patch mode.

I was trying to edit the pumpkin in Gerudoku and i got that ^
my problem seems unique, but i'd greatly appreciate any help from the community.. everything runs smoothly, no worries. but my problem is that i re-edited a few small things (replaced the bricks, windows, recolored the cactus flower) and when i try it, all the items that aren't fully taken up by the 32x32 space are black. when i view the file, i noticed that it's simply uncolored, like the 'left-over' space space around the torch, sapling, etc. when i open it in paint, it turns black, and thus when re-uploaded, becomes blackened, and it's very unsettling to see all your torches as a solid black square. does anybody know how to keep this uncolored? keep in mind, to edit it, since i'm on a mac and a mac's basic editing software is terrible, i put it on a flash drive, send it to my PC, edit it, save it (still in png format), re-upload it, put it in the texture folder, compress it, then update it with that texture pack. the edits i did worked fine. it's just that excess space, it's black, how do i deal with this?

You need an editor that supports transparency, like Paint.net or GIMP.

yea, after i posted this, i though, "wait a second, what about transparency?" then i opened it up in paintbrush (cheap mac copy of paint), absorbed the color, and wouldn't you know it? fully transparent black. explains everything. my question now is, how do i change the black on the current png file to transparent?...
is there anyway to get something like this that makes it where its just added to the list and i can still change it? cause i had other texture packs i liked

No problem at all. Wonderful thing this fix
1. I was trying to use Rezcraft, all of the options were selected for the patching. The Texture Pack is 64, so I used the 64 patch mode.
