i was having a problem with the rezcraft mod by soulscribe (viewtopic.php?f=25&t=95966), and i was having a problem where it would crash every time i tried to open it whilst using the patcher. it would give me an error that i could repeat if you need it, but i feel is unimportant as i believe i fixed it. i updated to the latest version of java and the error disappeared, but it sent my version back to 1.2.3_04 alpha and will not update past that irregardless of what i do. even after removing the texture pack and trying another it wouldn't update. I thank you ahead of time for any and all help you provide.
I have also not been able to get rezcraft to work.
i got rezcraft to work, it was simply not having java up to date. although something about the patcher/java update made it so i couldn't update minecraft. i'm assuming it has nothing to do with rezcraft as switching away from rezcraft provided no fixes
thank you to anyone who was trying to come up with a solution to my problem, but i was able to resolve the issue by stopping with the stupid and deleting my minecraft.original.jar (which had gotten itself stuck on 1.2.3_04 from the patcher) and letting my minecraft re-update itself
When i run the patcher it doesent show me a window.. just starts a process named "javaw.exe"
know anything of use xau?
Try running it from the Command Prompt: java -Xmx512m -jar mcpatcher-1.1.10_01.exe

My guess is that the MainForm.form isn't be used to initialize all those form elements on the main screen of the patcher. any ideas?
Easiest fix is probably to just use IntelliJ instead of Eclipse. Or you may be able to import the .form into another form designer. I'll figure out how to generate and check in the src for it when I get home next week.

i did this with the albion pack.. now i've lost my saves.
anyway for me to get my pre-patched saves back? i don't want to have lost them ._______.
What exactly did you do? The instructions provided shouldn't affect your saves at all. If you deleted your minecraft folder, is it in your recycle bin/trash can?
I was kind've looked over here... Let me reiterate.
I patch the correct way stated on the OP. I join game and am getting horrible lag when i look at pretty much anything this patch touches.. water/torches/brick blocks/portals/etc etc.. [surprisingly not lava i believe] i can look at the ground and get little-to no lag but past that if i look up it laggs me to hell and back, 1fps.

The image you posted before was when looking at torches, which the patcher doesn't affect at all. It doesn't affect the texture the particles use. It doesn't even really affect rendering at all. The animations are being drawn on an image at all times in the background, no matter what you're looking at, so any slow down should be constant. I don't have any explanation for what you're experiencing, and it doesn't seem to be happening to anyone else.
My watch isn't working (it just shows the purple where the graphic is supposed to be). I don't have a compass, so I can't say if it works or not :tongue.gif:
Does animated lava/water/fire look right? Did you patch and use default textures or select a texture pack in Minecraft? Which pack is it? Does it work with a different texture pack?
Animated lava/water/fire looks right. I selected the pack I was using in the patcher (with all options selected as default). (I'm using Qualjaks Cell-Shaded Texture Pack.)
Not selecting the texture pack in the patcher also creates the bug.

Well, there was water in that room next to the torches so, :-x could be it.. Any ideas as to why I'd be getting such MAJOR fps drop due to the animations? I am using a 32x32 set [i know cus i made the texture pack]
(hopes xau dont hit me in the face through the internet chuck norris beat him/her to it) Ok I LOVE THIS THING prob is I CANT PLAY SMP if i install a 32 64 or 128 pack use your patcher to fix it use desktop version loads up fine but then i cant access multiplayer which pisses me the hell off HOW DO I FIX THIS?!?!!? please respond

Was this a crash or just an error when you exit? It's in the sound library so it probably has nothing to do with this patcher.
I am having this same error and it does have to do with the patcher--what happens is any sound that happens (walking, clicking, torches etc) gets stuck and keeps repeating. This does not happen when I open MC regularly, just when I do it through the "Test Minecraft" button. I have read the other posts (and the OP), I have followed both sets of instructions (first the ones in the OP, then, when that didn't work, the added set for using the built-in Minecraft texture switcher). I have not patched, only tested, since the test is giving me results I don't want to add in my game.
Aaand for the record, using default pack, selected the exact options in the instructions, no other mods installed, and though I do have the Brown and Bloom texture pack in my texture folder I am not currently using it.

It really sounds like the dial.png is just the wrong size. When you select the pack in the patcher, do you have default textures selected in Minecraft? The patcher will resize it if it's wrong, but that won't have any effect if you have the .zip selected as a texture pack inside Minecraft. It needs to be set to default.

Try hitting the Minecraft Folder button in the patcher and seeing if there is a minecraft.original.jar in there. If so, close the patcher, delete that file, and run the patcher again.

I have no explanation and no ideas. If you link the pack I can try to reproduce later.

If you haven't patched, then the patcher hasn't done anything. The 'Test Minecraft' button just launches Minecraft and captures the console output. It does not modify anything, in any way. It is possible that the problem is a side-effect of the way it launches through the patcher, but if that's the case it should work fine when you run the game normally, patched or not.
