Just wanted to say that I followed the instructions on the first page and am using the Albion 64x texture pack. It installed no problems and everything looks great. Didn't think it would make this much difference, thanks for the hard work.
Im trying to use Glimmars 32x32 steampunk textures. It worked for a while but i logged in today and got this error.
What can i do to fix it? Is there a way to unpatch?

Can someone confirm that this works with the "Mods and Texture Packs" thing that shows up when you launch Minecraft?
No, as far as I understand it, you only need to run this if you are going to run an HD texture pack, if you are going to run a HD texture pack they don't work with the built in texture pack support (mods and texture packs in the game), so you need to use this and then install the HD texture pack that you want.
My watch isn't working (it just shows the purple where the graphic is supposed to be). I don't have a compass, so I can't say if it works or not :tongue.gif:
Does animated lava/water/fire look right? Did you patch and use default textures or select a texture pack in Minecraft? Which pack is it? Does it work with a different texture pack?

Well the good thing is I got the patcher working, the bad news the front page gave me a seizure.
The fact that anyone is even looking at the OP fills me with more joy than you can possibly imagine.

I have some questions of the Source code ( I can't get the compiled version to work, so in order to help debug better, I want to see if there are any specific errors being thrown ).
If you could help with finding the libs to get rid of these erros and add them to the OP, that would be awesome, thanks!
I don't have time to help with the source, unfortunately. Make sure you use 1.1.x branch and just remove the rar support (I am going to soon anyway). There's not really any reason to compile it just to look for errors being thrown, you can do that with the distributed package. I can post a non-packed (i.e. non-obfuscated) jar next week if you want.

The very first post in this thread says, in bold letters: The texture pack selector inside of Minecraft is not supported. Maybe I could make the whole OP a flashing gif...

This error usually means you are using a 64x64+ texture pack with an unpatched or 32x32 Minecraft. You could maybe try patching for 128x128 and see if it gets you far enough to switch texture packs back to default. Patching for 16x16 with custom water/lava off and no texture pack should also get you basically back to the original.

Unless you are using this for some other purpose.
I do want to install 34,34 and 64x64 textures. What I wan't to know is will this HD texture pack mod still patch the HD ones if I load the texture packs in the Built In Texture Pack (Mods and texture packs in the game).

to both of yous, yes this patcher works with the ingame manager, however you perform the steps differently.
step 1: open up the patcher
step 2: select the texture tile size (32x32,64x64, etc). 16x16 isn't needed as this is minecrafts default resolution.
step 3: patch using no texture package
step 4: open the game and select your new texture package
play your game and enjoy.
basically your only using mcpatcher to change the resolution offset of textures. enjoy, btw. ingame textures must be in zip format.
The very first post in this thread says, in bold letters: The texture pack selector inside of Minecraft is not supported. Maybe I could make the whole OP a flashing gif...
I did read the first post. Maybe you should make a flashing GIF that says "my names is xau and I don't listen to what people are saying before I make assumptions, just saying guys"
first off, double posting is generally frowned apon.
and to answer your question, by not patching a texture package, i mean, dont select a texture pack in mcpatcher. just patch without one. people who use the ingame manager just use mcpatcher to change the offset resolutions. we use the ingame manager to actually choose which package. example, i used mcpatcher to change the resolutions from 16x16 to 128x128 because all my texture packages i use are 128 by 128. so using the ingame manager i can quickly switch texture packages without repatching.
Do as the person above laid out the instructions...
But... Read the instructions that the texture pack author has given, some of them can not be installed this way and must be installed manually after patching the jar file to the correct resolution.

yes, some packages are setup differently. I converted most of mine to the format that minecraft uses. one the main problems was minecraft doesn't like rar files, the things must be in zip format. and simply changing the file extension doesn't work, they must be repackaged completely >.< was very annoying discovering this.
I know double posting is "Frowned" upon. I have been on many forums, I know what is good and bad, but I felt like I needed to reply to his comment.
So what you are saying is you want me to --
Open the file
Choose the tile size.
Have all of the options check marked Don't have Texture Pack check marked
and press patch?
pretty much, but i believe the bottom 2 options aren't functioning properly on windows, or perhaps that was in alpha. reading the post with instructions i posted tells you what to do.

Gosh, I have a really hard time following text instructions. Could you please, for the sake of me, post pictures of how to do it?
and drag that folder to the eclipse (assuming you're using eclipse, cause who wouldn't?) project that the Minecraft Patcher is in
But then the unrar stuff requires apache's logging library (I hate how this happens... one lib requires another... uggh)
http://apache.multihomed.net//commons/l ... .1-bin.zip
from that download, add commons-logging-api-1.1.1.jar to your build path, and now there are no more errors... YAY!!!
(most exciting part of learning new projects -- no errors =D)
However, now that setup is all done, there is an error with the 1.1.x branch, (Dec 26, 12:21pm GMT-6 (Everyone is asleep, so.. its ok for me to be thinking about code =p ))
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException
at MainForm.<init>(MainForm.java:55)
at MainForm.create(MainForm.java:354)
at MCPatcher.main(MCPatcher.java:33)
My guess is that the MainForm.form isn't be used to initialize all those form elements on the main screen of the patcher. any ideas?
i was having a problem with the rezcraft mod by soulscribe (viewtopic.php?f=25&t=95966), and i was having a problem where it would crash every time i tried to open it whilst using the patcher. it would give me an error that i could repeat if you need it, but i feel is unimportant as i believe i fixed it. i updated to the latest version of java and the error disappeared, but it sent my version back to 1.2.3_04 alpha and will not update past that irregardless of what i do. even after removing the texture pack and trying another it wouldn't update. I thank you ahead of time for any and all help you provide.
edit: figured you would want the code for the error anyway
