Well I'm having troubles. I ran the patch to install Aza's Arid pack, I simply made the tile size 128x128 and thats all. Afterwards I got a successful patch message in the log. Exited and ran the game, after the Mojang Specifications screen I just get black and the program doesnt respond.
I ran the program again with Minecraft on and the log gave me this
########## GL ERROR ##########
@ Pre render
1281: Invalid value
I deleted my bin file, and started again. Yet everytime i get the same problem, it's really odd.
Running Windows XP SP3 if it matters.
Try using the patcher to set the size(without texture pack) then open your jar and manually add the textures?
Well the problem isn't getting the patcher working, it works fine. The problem is it downgrades the patch to 1.2.2, I'm sure we'll have an update in the next 48 hours, as the patch is still mostly working.

when theres a new version out, you need to delete the backup jar file that the patcher makes before re-patching, otherwise you get this problem.
Latest Minecraft Update
To use with the latest Minecraft update (Nov24):
1. Run the patcher
2. Click "Minecraft Folder"
3. Close the patcher
4. In the minecraft folder, delete minecraft.original.jar and the file called "version"
5. Run Minecraft with the launcher and log in to make sure the latest version is downloaded
6. Close Minecraft
7. Run the patcher
8. Uncheck "Custom Water" and "Custom Lava" - the patcher needs to be updated before these will work
9. Click Patch
I will not be home until Nov 29 so I probably will not be able to post an updated patcher before then. I will try and coordinate with someone to get an update out though. It's a trivial fix.
Common Errors Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: nz.<init>(II)V
Custom Water and Lava will not work until the patcher is updated. Uncheck them to work around this error.
########## GL ERROR ########## @ Pre render 1281: Invalid value
The game is trying to render textures at a different resolution than it was patched for. The patcher replaces the default Minecraft textures and this is the only supported use case at this time. Either delete options.txt or switch back to the default texture pack before patching. This will be fixed in future versions.
Outdated Client
Follow the instructions above to remove your backup minecraft.original.jar and patch from the new version. This will be fixed in future versions.
dear mine craft forums please actually post this post when i push post thanks in advance

thanks for updating your awesome patcher. Though I can't use custom lava or water I'm very happy to use HD textures on other blocks. I've been spoiled too long and I can't stand the default low res textures.

Same thing happens to me! I press "Submit" and it just goes back to the topic without posting
Now I always have to copy what I wrote and paste it back in and submit a few times before it works
This happens to me too! Has been getting worse for the past couple of weeks and I do exactly as you do, Koolwitak, copy and paste repeatedly until it gets posted! Very frustrating. :sad.gif:
Alright, i tried deleting the version and minecraft.original.jar files and that didn't work. It won't let me on multiplayer at all. (Outdated client again) The texture i had installed is still active in single player. I'd rather just clear this out and go with the default textures so i can check on my server. Is there anyway to revert back? (I'm on a mac if that makes a difference...)
BTW outdated client means that your server hasn't updated their server software like most haven't. If you haven't heard yet SMP is pretty much broken until we get another patch. when you die and respawn other players can't see you, not even admins, so you can run around free griefing... so yah most if not all servers that are serious are down. My suggestion is to go have thanksgiving with your family and come back friday :smile.gif:
I understand many server's have not updated their software to run with the update, but i was on my server this afternoon and it was working fine.
I just want to know if there is a way to clear any and all changes done by MCPatcher so that i may check on my server in the meantime until an update for it comes out.
Now that SMP Health is out I was stoked to try the 256x256 patch option, only when launching the client after the "successful" patch, I get this:
