I'm on Mac OS 10.5.8 and the patch won't load. I've deleted the minecraft.original.jar, also tried deleting the whole game and redownloading and nothing works. Is there a solution for this yet? Thanks.
Looks like I compiled something for Java 6 by mistake. As a workaround you can run it from the terminal with:
please let me know what other information you need.
i can open the HD pack from the jar, but when i load a texture it just gets stuck at 81 percent and on that step it says:
I'm on OSX and the workaround worked fine for me, but when I try and patch something it gets stuck at 81% "reading terrain.png". Any idea why it would be doing this? I'm trying to patch with the Brown & Bloom 1.2 texture pack.
I've skimmed this topic quickly, and I haven't seen this issue posted yet. My compass doesn't have the red line indicating where the spawn is after I install a texture pack using this. I also have water animation instead of the bloodstone when I install a texture pack. This is the one I'm currently using, it may just be a problem with it, I have no idea honestly. viewtopic.php?f=25&t=25676&start=1170#p1111689 (I'm using the first one, without the gray grass and trees.)
Are you sure you're using the latest version of the patcher (1.1.7) and that it's patching successfully? Those sound like problems with the texture fix not actually being applied. I use that mix pack personally (and made it!) and it works fine here.

this is me EXACTLY the same. Brown and Bloom pack and all...thanks for the help :smile.gif:
So many questions. I have been running JohnSmith's texture pack before the Halloween update fine without using the HD texture fix. Now I try to use this and everything goes to hell. I know it's something on my end, since I'm not the most java-savvy guy. So here goes.
The instructions are as follows:HOW TO USE
1. Download and run the latest .exe file below (mac/linux: use the .jar file)
2. If the file fields are not automatically filled in, hit the top browse button and find your minecraft.jar
3. If you don't have an HD texture pack installed, go download one, then hit the browse button next to "Texture Pack" and find the file for it.
4. Click patch.
5. When it's done, click Run Minecraft.
So I downloaded the new v.4 of JohnSmith texture. I installed it (dragged its contents into the minecraft.jar file). Then I opened the mcpatcher.exe and located minecraft.jar for the texture pack. I didn't touch anything else. The original and output fields are filled in. I didn't choose a tile size, since I'm thoroughly confused as to if I'm even able to move that. This forum says something about 32x32, but he default choice is 16x16, which confuses the hell out of me. Anyways, so I choose that texture pack and hit patch. Then it brings up a clipboard but doesn't complete the patch. If I then go back and try to select minecraft.jar again for the texture pack, it gives me an error saying "the compression used in this zip file is not supported. Please install the texture pack manually or repackage it as a .jar or .rar file" (which I thought it was). How do I get this thing to work?
Maybe someone can explain in better detail, but I've had luck just renaming the .zip from a texture pack to .jar and telling MCPatcher to use that .jar file as the texture pack (don't even worry about picking the right size; it seems to auto-select the size after you point it to the pack's .jar file). There's no need to drag the downloaded pack into the minecraft.jar file.
Ooooh. I see. I'm not supposed to manually install it. I'm just supposed to target the .zip and it will do it automatically. I was thinking I had to manually move it then run the .exe. Thanks Rofang.
I dont know if anyone has noticed this with the Doku patch, I've only noticed it today.. when your using your fishing rod, you cant see the fish you catch or the bobber thing when you cast your line out
also, noticed, that the fishing rod makes an awesome long distance weapon :biggrin.gif: New kind of fishing, fishing for zombies and spiders! its hilarious because they shoot up into the air when you bring the line back and then fall back down, making it slightly easier to kill them (if your looking down at them from the top of a tree for example)
I just tested mcpatcher using the same files and different archive types and it appears that mcpatcher allows for selecting a .rar archive, but can't actually use it.

That's because the fishing bobber is a new part of particles.png that doku hasn't updated. Try one of the several fix packs people have posted in the doku thread.
I had a problem with the patcher (great work, btw!) adding the JohnSmith texture pack from here viewtopic.php?f=25&t=29164. The water & lava weren't animating, and it seems the patcher wasn't adding the animation files:

@xau: For whatever reason, when I use both your patcher and the simple map patcher, minecraft will go so far as the black screen after the mojang title, then freeze up. It will work with either one, but not with both.
I will be posting this in the simple map thread as well, hopefully you guys can sort this out.
(and no, it has nothing to do with 303's mod loader and/or arrows, I don't use those just for that reason)
I have installed DOKUs RPG pack, and i see that theres something with the texture pakcs in the wrong folders and such. I didnt really understand that, so ill post my error message:

I'm using mcpatcher-1.1.7.jar on a Mac. It won't work. This is the error message:
There is an error opening minecraft.jar. This may be because:
-The file has already been patched
-There was an update that this patcher cannot handle
-There is another, conflicting mod applied
-The jar file is invalid or corrupt
You can re-download the original minecraft.jar by deleting your minecraft/bin folder and running the game normally.
Please see the log window for more details.
The log window says that if found FlowLava, AnimManager, Tessellator, FlowWater, StillWater, Tool3D, Fire, Block, AnimTexture, Minecraft, but not StillLava or Compass.
How can I get it to work on my Mac?

Okay okay, is this what you wanted?

Once I added them manually, it worked fine. Just thought you'd like to know.
