To illustrate my points, here's a slightly extreme example. The first screenshot shows Minecraft with a forced 16xQ AA.
And here's the same screenshot, but with no forced graphics settings.
Advize, depending on the level of AA you force will depend on how drastic the lines are. If you only did 2x AA, they'd barely be there. But at higher settings, like 16xQ, it becomes a lot more apparent.
which is a modified version of doku's. Whenever I try and install it using the method I've used before (I've installed regular doku with no problems), the patching process seems to hang indefinitely on 18%.
I have tried with custom water and lava both checked and unchecked, I've experimented with different output locations, since I've had trouble with that before, and I've tried off a fresh install of minecraft, all with no luck.
And help would be appreciated, and thanks for this great tool!

If you're on Windows, make sure you're using the latest version of the .exe. If you're on Mac/Linux, you need to run the patcher from the terminal with: java -Xmx512m -jar mcpatcher-1.1.6.jar
outermost pixels seems to be half transparent and flicker
That is one the glitches this patcher fixes. gui/items.png must be the same size as terrain.png and you must either use the patcher to install them or install them before you run the patcher.
i keep getting an error saying "there was an error opening minecraft.jar. This may be because
-The file has already been patched.
-there was an update the patcher cant handle.
-There is another conflicting mod applied.
-The jar is invalid or corrupt."
it says i can try redownloading it but that didnt work please help thanks
I'm using ANIMATED WATER/LAVA/FIRE.....what file do I edit to change the hue of the water? I want to make it a slightly more tropical looking blue instead of dark blue.
I dont want CUSTOM water b/c it doesnt animate like the default one does when its standing still.....I figure there has to be a way to edit the hue of the file its drawing that animation from.
Making a 64-frame animation for a 32x32 texture seems to be a bit of a challenge, you can't really just move the pattern down by half a pixel so instead I had to do some blending to create the extra frames. It would be cool if there was option to change the animation speed, perhaps separately for lava & water if that's possible (as water looks better with fast animation while lava looks better when it's slow). Of course just using different size custom textures for both works but having a 32x2048 texture for a single block type feels a bit extreme... :wink.gif:
I agree that slower animation speeds would be nice, the 64 frame lava animation I cobbled together for nickhimself's 256x256 texture pack still doesn't flow slowly enough to look acceptable and I can't bring myself to go any further. At least we still have the option to just let the patch scroll the static custom texture.
Hello I have a problem I'm hoping you know a fix I have a bad opengl driver problem (alot of intel driver users have this problem apparently) and I do this to fix it
sadly when I use your program and I press the "run minecraft" button it starts the regular way resulting in me getting the bad driver error
Do you know a way to fix this?
heres the error if your curious:
Bad video card drivers!
-----------------------
Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

Xau, I was just wondering if there was a quicker way of doing this: I like to update my texture pack frequently. I'm even starting to make my own. However, whenever I want to update it, I have to completely remove my .bin folder, patch again, and reinstall all my mods. Otherwise, things like the compass won't work anymore. Granted, I only have to do all of this if I update my items.png, but that's what I've been working on lately, so it's quite annoying. Is there a way to get the patcher to work even though the minecraft.jar file has been edited? Or any other workaround that could speed up this process. I feel like I have to reinstall everything almost everyday.

I just set up a little batch file to automate the steps, it doesn't take long to update. This is for linux but I don't think the syntax will be terribly different for windows.
Hello, Now i know that this is off topic but, that executable .jar file has a "Play Minecraft" option at the bottom. It just so happens that it is currently the only way i can play minecraft, anyway is there anyway you could put an option to choose a name or a skin to choose from? I run my server and it gets rather annoying try to make random names of "Player" admin each time I launch minecraft.
Thanks,
Me

Thanks for the reply, but I don't know how to use this code. What do I do with it? Tell me what it does. And when I figure out how to use it, thanks again!

Edit: Just tried 16xQ and still no lines. Something just occured to me though, I've never tried this with 32x32 or higher textures.
The AF may have something to do with it, although I'm not sure. I simply had 16xQ AA on Supersampling transparency. Everything else default.
If it wasn't apparent, I'm using a 32*32 texture pack - specifically, Doku's.

What exactly do you type into the command prompt, because that isn't doing anything for me.
