I patched my texture pack, and I got the error that you listed as most common. I deleted the options.txt file, but when I attempt to run minecraft or change the texure pack, it simply reappears. I don't really know hwat to do because when I try to run Minecraft with the texture peck, the options file reappears and my Minecraft stops responding. Is this a simple problem or what?

MAC? Seems like known issue with Mac's Java implementation.
One more thing. You know in the directions you said to open minecraft and switch to the default texture?
I did all the rest of the directions and it was fine. I open minecraft, everything is working, but I have te painterly pack and the default textures are the painterly :L so my default texture is now a painterly pack :sleep.gif:
I know I could fix this faster than a could blow you up, but I just wanted to mention this...
EDIT: Okay I tried to fix it and got a black screen, I tried again and this time it worked. But my default is still not the default T_T
EDIT 2: Okay I just reread the post and found this: "The patcher replaces the default Minecraft textures and this is the only supported use case at this time...."

I've been having a weird problem. Whenever I open up the mcpatcher 1.1.12 and click on texture pack the windows always freezes and doesn't respond.
This is what it looks like.
Yes, I do have the latest verison of JAVA. I do have the latest verison of the mcpatcher, I've done this with minecraft closed and open, I have restarted my computer several times, I just don't know how to fix this.
Now, I'm new to this. And I dont know if this thing is still up to date but imma try and explain my problem.
So I downloaded the GERUDOKU texture pack and it sed to use your patcher before using it so I did...
I've followed the steps then I tested the game. The house I builded is made of Bricks and the bricks had some weird skin. I'll just post-it here with a video... Is there a way to fix that ?

It looks like you aren't using a patched JAR so something must of gone wrong. Are you using the latest copy of gerudoku? did you switch to default textures and exit before patching? did you select minecraft.jar for both original and output, and select the right gerudoku pack for the texture pack?
i downloaded the fix and ran it and then selected the texture pack and unchecked all the animations and only left hires font and then i clicked patch and on 22% the app becomes unresponsive and corrupts minecraft.jar
this is on a mac
There is not nearly enough documentation about how to use this stupid thing.
I have been led to believe, through forum searches, that it is possible to use this patcher to fix the bug causing watch and compass textures to not be loaded from texture packs. I have not been able to achieve this through using the patcher myself. Is it possible to do this and only this, and if so, what do I need to check/uncheck?
I have a question, I recently installed DrZhark's Mo' Creatures mod, and installed it successfully. However, whenever I try to use any custom texture pack, the game crashes, I've already tried re-patching each pack, but to no avail.
so my question is, does this mean that DrZhark's mod is incompatible with external textures, or that there is an issue with MCPatcher?

Edit: i even took out all the mods, texture packs, and then redownloaded the entire minecraft file, tried to patch it again with just the basics, and it froze.

One more thing. You know in the directions you said to open minecraft and switch to the default texture?
I did all the rest of the directions and it was fine. I open minecraft, everything is working, but I have te painterly pack and the default textures are the painterly :L so my default texture is now a painterly pack :sleep.gif:

Yes, I do have the latest verison of JAVA. I do have the latest verison of the mcpatcher, I've done this with minecraft closed and open, I have restarted my computer several times, I just don't know how to fix this.

It looks like you aren't using a patched JAR so something must of gone wrong. Are you using the latest copy of gerudoku? did you switch to default textures and exit before patching? did you select minecraft.jar for both original and output, and select the right gerudoku pack for the texture pack?
this is on a mac
but when I unpatch back to default the text is fine.
I have been led to believe, through forum searches, that it is possible to use this patcher to fix the bug causing watch and compass textures to not be loaded from texture packs. I have not been able to achieve this through using the patcher myself. Is it possible to do this and only this, and if so, what do I need to check/uncheck?

I'm with beta 1.3_01 and i just downloaded the texture pack file, put it in the texture pack then patched it but
minecraft doesn't open anymore.
Just after the Mojang stuff it closes by itself....
