I am interested, but the reason I recommended gif is because using a template is not that simple. Different types of water will have different types of animation, and would require a different amount of frames.
How about another png that's just frames going down vertically? Then the number of frames would just be the image height divided by the width. There could be one for fire, water, and lava. If you make images I'll see about doing it.

Here's my file:
It's running out of memory decompressing it - I'll make the next version of the .exe increase the max memory.

the compass has no needle, and i dont know, but i think its because the needle goes in the bottom right corner, and when the items get resized, it probably ends up in the middle.
Unless you modify items.png after the patcher runs, the compass should work fine, the needle will just be small. On 256x256 you will have to pull it out to see it. I can fix it but it's not a high priority for me.

]Hey, thanks for this but Is it possible that you add login function too, this is the only client that runs on my PC, official doesn't work.
I'm not sure what you're asking for but the answer is probably no.
when I use the patcher for a 128x128 pack it just goes black and says not responding.

You need to select minecraft.jar or minecraft.original.jar in the top box before you hit Run Minecraft. If it's not filled in when you launch the patcher there's probably something wrong with your minecraft.jar. You may need to delete your .minecraft/bin folder and let it redownload.

]I mean login function to play online. Original MC.exe doesn't work, crashes for me. Simply add name and password boxes or something. Thanks.
There is nothing simple about that and it is not going to happen.

But does it fix 32x32 item messy-ness?
I have no idea what you're asking maybe you should just try it and find out.
I can get this to work in single player mode on alpha, however when I try to login to a multiplayer server, I get a "bad login" message in Minecraft. Nothing out of the ordinary is showing in the java log window.
Am I doing something wrong? or is it not multiplayer supported yet?
now that error message has gone away after a delete of minecraft.jar and another patching and texture loading.
Now a new one, i didn't know there were "premium" accounts...
LATEST UPDATE:
1.1.5 - Fixed edges on equipped tools. Custom water and lava animations. These use the textures from your terrain.png and scroll them in the direction the water is moving.
Judging from other people using your fix to fix people's texture packs that are 128x128, I can easily say this will allow me to make RealistiCraft that much more sexy.
Curious to ask though, can you make 256x256 using the fix?
FREEKING AWESOME, works perfectly and with minimal grief
EDIT: for the record I am using both Doku's tex pack and dokuITEMs

Nevermind, resolved this problem, answer at bottom of post.

Is this compatable with Java 1.6? I've been trying to get this to work since the new update, and I just haven't managed to have it not crash.
The usual error is that it 'cannot create backup', even though it should from the way I have the settings. I basically did the install like the last time I did, and it seems like it should work, but it just ends up crashing and corrupting minecraft.jar There is no other code in the window, I'm not sure it actually patches anything before it crashes, and after that... it's glitched. Can't run minecraft or do an error check. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Steps I used... installed texture pack into minecraft.jar 32x32 block pack...
Put the patcher in the bin folder.
Opened, selected minecraft.jar path.
Selected save backup...
Selected custom water, lava animations, and animated fire.
Clicked patch...
Error says 'Cannot create backup', crashes and breaks minecraft.
-----------------------------------
It worked when I ran the patcher -outside- of the bin folder. For whatever reason, running it in the same folder produces an error.

I'm seeing a failure when trying to use 256x256 textures. With the same texture pack ( viewtopic.php?f=25&t=23470 ), I can run 128x128, 64x64 and 32x32 textures, but if I try to use 256x256 in the options, Minecraft crashes on startup.
I don't _think_ I'm doing anything stupid, but if I am, please let me know. :smile.gif:

The stack trace is helpful though, so I will double check to see if there's anything I can fix. Do you have animations disabled? Or custom? Please try with normal animations (i.e. top row of boxes checked, bottom row unchecked) and see if it works.

One million internets for you, good sir!
Plus a few leftover
The unpatched game draws the water as it runs. The water textures in terrain.png are unused. The water.png is used for the underwater screen overlay.
