So is there currently no way to patch texture packs seperately and select them through the texture pack option in the minecraft home page? Because whenever i patch johnsmiths its replaces the default minecraft textures.
Sorry if this has already been posted, but ive checked the FAQ and not really found anything completely the same as this, and 87 pages is a bit harsh to read, imo.
All you need to do is patch one HD texture pack and then you'll be able to use any texture pack of that resolution or the original resolution through the ingame texture switcher.
You can always open minecraft-1.3_01 and take all the textures from that file and put it in you minecraft.jar file so the default is still the default. Then put John Smith's texture in the texture pack folder.
I tried this on on the last version, I want to know if it is working properly. I have been haveing some porblems with the game and fianlly got it fix, so I don't want to mess it up again.
Edit: I downloaded the pack, its working fine for me, but I am using the old launcher, and I haven't been able to connect to minecraft all day, so I don't Know what happening to you all (I think I'm on the latest version Beta 1.3._01)
I too am having some problems, as far as I know the patcher is working alright, and I can start minecraft up using the steampunk pack. But when I maximize the game, it all drops to 1 Frame Per Second, and wont recover. I had it running smoothly yesterday, so I don't know what's going on or what happened. I had to delete my minecraft folder and remake it all :/
I'm trying to use the steampunk pack. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I add the two texture packs to the folder, keep the skin on default. Close off Minecraft, and then run the patcher, all 3 fields are filled in, though for the last one, I check off texture pack, and browse the texturepack folder, select the steampunk one and set it to 32x32 and hit patch. It'll run at standard window size, but as soon as I try to enlarge it, it's like falling into an ocean of lag, that my computer should not be getting.

Yeah, I've downloaded this for the pack I'm making and every time I patch it clones my pack over the default one. I've copied and pasted the original back where it belongs but that undoes the work of the patch for some reason. Any thoughts?
