Minecraft now closes down after showing the Mojang logo. I deleted the bin folder and restarted Minecraft only to have it close down again.
EDIT: I deleted the photorealism pack and the Minecraft patcher exe file. At least my regular Minecraft works now.
Take a look at my post a few posts up. It should help you install your texture pack and allow you to run Minecraft - but, you'll need to run it in the HD Texture Fix program, under "test minecraft".
So when I patch, with any resolution, and any texture pack, it will work...but only using the "test" feature. The official minecraft client won't load. Please help?

Go to your Minecraft folder and delete your "bin" folder. Then go back to your Minecraft folder and click on "options.txt", and in the line with "skin:", replace what ever is after the colon with "default". Then go into the HD fix, click on "unpatch". After this, go into Minecraft and let it patch. Then, go into the HD fix again, load up your texture pack, patch it, and then it MAY work in the official Minecraft client. If it doesn't, it will almost 100% work in the "test Minecraft" feature/button. It's a bit of a hassle to have to go into the HD fixer to run Minecraft with a texture pack every single time you want to play, but it is worth it!

I have a suggestion.
If you have other mods on, it's quite annoying to unpatch the texture pack.
After clicking on unpatch, it just restores minecraft.jar to the original condition. Without any mods and so on...
And that's quite annoying if you need to change through HD packs quickly and have mods on at the same time.
I was just wondering, is it possible to make the Patcher save your minecraft.jar before patching? So after unpatching it would be back in the same state as it was before patching. Still having all the mods on.

okay, for some reason, when i try to patch it, it just gets to 26% and then freezes. the patcher does, and then when i open minecraft, it doesnt work. help please!
Edit: i even took out all the mods, texture packs, and then redownloaded the entire minecraft file, tried to patch it again with just the basics, and it froze.
MAC? Seems like known issue with Mac's Java implementation.

Did you try deleting your bin file then doing the option.txt file fix? That may help. You need to run Minecraft in the HD fix using "test Minecraft" instead of the actual Minecraft application.

Hello. I'm trying to run MCpatcher here, it'll patch, but when I go to test it with the 'test minecraft' button, it'll crash after I try to load a saved game. I didn't realize that it'll restore minecraft.jar to it original version, thus losing the mods I had on it, until after I had clicked 'unpatch'. I can always reinstall them though, no biggie. The biggie is that I can't get my texture pack to work with this.

edit: I ran minecraft normally (not from the test button) after patching it again and it nearly took over a minute for minecraft to come up. I got to select a world for it, but it crashed after it started 'simulating world a bit'

I have a question, I recently installed DrZhark's Mo' Creatures mod, and installed it successfully. However, whenever I try to use any custom texture pack, the game crashes, I've already tried re-patching each pack, but to no avail.
so my question is, does this mean that DrZhark's mod is incompatible with external textures, or that there is an issue with MCPatcher?
