I dont understand, what is the difference between running minecraft normally, and running the test through mcpatcher? Besides the fact that it skips the login screen.

Alright. To start with I'm using an older version so I can hang onto my mods and update when most of the mods I want to use are updated to 1.3.
I'm using MC patcher 1.1.12 to update my copy of 1.2_02 or whatever, the most recent now old version of minecraft. I am trying to install runesmith's texture pack because he's a badass and made high def textures for a bunch of other mods that I use.
Here's the thing. Patching seems to reset my minecraft.jar. Remodding seems to always leave me stuck with the low definition textures for things like minecraft advanced when the files are in the texture pack to be added in. The world is higher res, the normal items like stone tools are high res, but my obsidian tools and dragon sword are low res. Same with stuff like the fancy pack.
I tried inserting the textures afterwards, didn't work. What do I do? Anyone know how to solve this? Am I using the wrong version, what? I've tried everything I can think of to do and keep ending up with a partially upgraded visual. I'm about to just call it quits and go back to painterly, which will make me very sad because 16x16 is ugly as ****.
I get weird spacing even with the normal default.png and I'm not using any mods, only the HD texture fix.

Well my eyes are not good enough to tell if there is odd spacing in the image below, but this is what I get with the default.png file, compared to what the other user posted above which is about what I get using a higher rez default.png file.
Bordercraft isn't working for me. My games goes black Screen, after a few minutes of Rendering. Can you try Bordercraft and see if it's working for you. I know I followed the rules correctly
Hi, I got this to work before 1.3 hit, and I loved the better grass and better lighting. Now, however, better grass isn't happening when everything else (water, lava, etc.) works fine, and I can't for the life of me remember what I did before to include better grass. Halp? =)
I've got a problem with this patcher.
I do everything written in the instruction.
I click "test minecraft" - all works after patching and looks great.
After closing the MC-Patcher I start MC and MC himself downloads files and starts and all is standart.
What can I do?

It means Minecraft just updated, so you need to patch again. Then it should work.

I am attempting to use a 32x32 LoZOOT texture pack The texture pack box is checked, and the tile size says 32x32. The locations for Original and Output are both at their intended locations. Checked boxes are Animated Water, Animated Lava, Animated Fire, Custom Water, Custom Lava, Hi-Res Font. Custom Portals is not checked.
Could anyone give me some assistance please?

When i tried to use this on Jolicraft, for some reason my default texturepack is now jolicraft. Does anyone know how to fix this?
It happens when you fix texture packs like this. Upgrade "default", make sure the texture box is unchecked, you should get the vanilla Minecraft look back.
Please help, since the latest minecraft update, this has not been working. I just downloaded the latest version but when I open it I get this in the "Log" window:

Error while loading the newest version of Mcpatcher. It can't find the classes for the compass so it brings up a window with the following info.

Are you planning on adding custom mod support to mcpatcher? So far, this little app is by far the easiest way to load a mod and texture pack, it would be great if you could load additional mod patches too that automatically checks for conflicts.
For example whenever there's a new minecraft update I need to create a new minecraft jar with the HD texture pack, pick my favorite 32x32 texture pack, patch, then install my usual list of 10 or so mods, making sure there are no conflicts. All of this could be done within mcpatcher saving everyone the trouble of doing it by hand and hoping it works correctly. Not to mention Windows users wouldn't need to install WinRAR or the like. All mcpatcher would need is the proper interface and some code to check for conflicting files...
(I notice that MrM uses a version of mcpatcher to patch his mods into minecraft, so why not a generic version?)
If you haven't done so in the last 60 days, may I suggest updating your video drivers, and then trying once more?

Confirmed. If I use a custom font then I get the same thing, if I go back to the default.png file then it's normal as usual.

Curse PremiumIt happens when you fix texture packs like this. Upgrade "default", make sure the texture box is unchecked, you should get the vanilla Minecraft look back.

Try running CMD as an administrator.
There was an error opening minecraft.jar. This may be because:
