@Nineball: Yes, if you're willing to go through the work, you can merge whichever aspects of the original Minecraft textures and this pack that you wish. Notch uses paint.net to create all the textures, so you might try using it to mesh packs together as well. There will be a minor issue; as this is a higher-res pack, you'll need to scale each of the original Minecraft textures by 2x when bringing them to these texture maps. (Original blocks are 16x16, these are 32x32).
I do agree that it would be helpful for snow and ice to have a texture as opposed to being plain white, but we must also remember that this pack is still far from complete. Personally, I'm grateful that Wild and the others have released it in WIP form so we could check it out ahead of completion 8D.
As for the water and lava issues:
Quote from wild8900 »
to fix that check out the patch I listed below the download link on the first page.
okay, I patched the water and lava and made the snow and snowy dirt better but I can't seem to get transparency to work for the ice when I use Gimp or Paint.net.
nevermind, I just copied the trasparent ice from doku's RPG texture and it looks better now, I also personally made it so large chests have only one lock mechanism and don't look like two small chests next to eachother because I like it that way. also, do you guys have any alternative sun suggestions? the Elysium moon doesn't quite fit well with a square sun.
For whatever the reason, the Mediafire link in the opening post is refusing to work. Mediafire shows the download link, and when I click it in Chrome, it simply takes me to a blank page with the direct address of the file in the address bar. Using the link in IE and Firefox replaces the white page with a standard browser failure page (in IE, it states that 'this website needs you to log in.')
It just occurred to me a moment ago that I did already download the file a few days ago, and had it sent to a different folder, so I'm good, but if the link really is down, I figured you might need to know.

Ah, thanks Crow =P. I might upload and keep it on my own personal site until that's fixed. I'll update with a link when I do.
I'm running into an issue I didn't notice before with this pack. None of the armor shows up on my character, and instead makes anything the character is holding turn invisible. Any ideas as to the issue?
I see you replaced the basic crosshair with some sort of target, which is very cool. Can anyone tell me where the file is for the crosshair? Many thanks ahead of time.

I've looked at icons.png so many times & not noticed >.> Well thank you, i see it now
I'm having the armor issue as well... what's more, dumping a custom armor folder doesn't seem to have fixed it.
The armors that come in the Blockman pack are all 128x64, but that shouldn't be a problem since I made a(n exceedingly crappy) custom MML-based set at that resolution that worked fine before I installed the Blockman pack (although I was using the Zelda pack at the time for everything else, which is a 16x16 reso pack.)
I've also noticed that installing the Blockman pack doesn't modify a number of things, among them the tools/weapons. I'm assuming that's mostly because this is still very much a WIP pack, what with the upcoming update from Hell and everything. It might also be because I had gotten the pack before Wild uploaded the version with the drill and other such things.

@jacksterson: I don't think the armor is fixed, so that issue is still waiting to be resolved.
@Crow: Yeah, the pack is still very WIP. The only tools replaced at the moment are the iron pickax and the iron shovel, none others. We must have patience, assuming Wild is still at work on it all.
@Guy who created the armor sprites (sorry, too lazy to go back to the post and check your name =P): Obviously you had them working in your game, or you wouldn't have sent them to Wild. Did you test them while using Wild's progress thus far, or a different texture pack? If the prior, wonder what we're doing wrong...
I suppose the point of my post was a roundabout way of saying, for the sake of those who might come searching for an answer, "this is what I've more or less decided the case is"? I dunno.
Feel free to point out if I've made any errors in my judgement, but as it stands, the pack currently consists of two reskinned tools and a fully reskinned terrain.png, and that the current standing status of the armors is that they're not working as of this post, possibly due to armor file sizes. It was released as a Work In Progress, and as such is not complete.
There's likely to be at least one person out there that won't bother reading through the opening post or will skim most of the thread to figure out why, so there it is for the sake of clarity and attention grabbing. Better safe than sorry, right?
I checked again (while writing this, as it contradicted what I'd said and learned at the time of the last post) and actually looked at all of the armors instead of just one, and only the Gold armor seems to be proper size-- all the rest are 64x32, standard Minecraft size. Test it yourself if you have the pack installed, the Gold armor should work fine, although I can't verify at the moment myself.
For what it's worth, I'm going to try resizing the armors to the appropriate size (128x64) manually at some point in the next day or so when I have time (unless the individual who made them fixes the matter before that, or someone reads this and beats me to it.) If that fixes the matter, I (or, presumably, whoever else fixes it before me) will drop a follow-up post.
Matter solved by Saber Mage, post below. Editing this for the sake of anyone reading through this thread later.

You know, I might be wrong, but the issue could very well be that the .png at the end of the armor filenames is in caps. That may be the issue. I'll try changing it to see if that resolves the issue, and report on it.
Yep!! That did it. You might want to put something about that on the first post, Wild. Or I guess just let users find the fix on their own. But yes, changing the file extensions of the armors that are .PNG (in caps) to .png (lowercase) fixes the armor dis-functionality issue.
@jacksterson: The inventory background has some "bad" pixel offsets in alignment with the items, especially along the active item bar. Would you mind looking into this, and making adjustments as needed? T'would be much-appreciated =).
I suppose you're assuming I'm going ballistic over this? Not everyone who types a lot and uses formatting outside of smilies and spoilers is angry or upset, y'know.
Sometimes a wordy post is just a wordy post-- I'm more sincere and level-headed than your average internet automaton. Rageposts and the like just aren't my thing, especially when in relation to technical difficulties. I'd rather spend my time figuring out what the cause is and isn't, and getting that information out to those who need it, whether they're patient enough to read or so impatient that the only way to get their attention is to get their attention.

Glad that you were able to figure out the cause of the problem, Saber. Saves me the trouble of worrying my way through it. I never would've figured capital extensions would be the cause, but code likes to work in mysterious ways. Seems fitting since logging into the game with different capitalization from what you signed up with causes any custom player skin to not work. (Unless that's been fixed since before this.)

Thanks for uploading the inventory background, Jacksterson =P.

Just let me finish more of the pack and I'll get back to ya!

@SBKT: I'm curious, what are you using to replace your sounds in Minecraft? Have you found anything more useful than http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=18762 (Minecraft Sound Swapper)?
