Jackerston never sent me that image for the inventory :sleep.gif:
I apologize guys, a lot of this is half-assed.
Ah nah it's all good, you're doing this for free after all =P. And doing well - I'd love to see what full-on effort looks like if this is half-assed, haha. Was just curious about the inventory thing.
So, noone wanted a server for the recreation of different MM buildings?
Wild has already stated that he will host an SMP server for that purpose, and Betasword has begun building the ruins again in Alpha (although I don't know if he had intentions to share that world for the SMP server). Unless Wild change(d/s) his mind, no, but thanks =P.
Or did you mean to host a server for misc. Mega Man-related building and construction, as opposed to, for a complete recreation of MML's ruins? In that case, I dunno, but not I personally.
Man, this is such an awesome texture pack. It turned out looking just as good as I thought it would. Glad to see that it has finally been released!
Main thing I love about this pack is the texture of stone/cobblestone and the textures of "outside". The textures seem to be really smooth and flow together well. Not to mention, how it is modeled after one of my favorite games. The mob skins are also a nice replacement. I love the megaman artwork for paintings as well (even though some paintings are just completely purple) Almost everything in this pack is praiseworthy though.
However, somethings I don't really like about this pack. One of the main problems for me is just how the furnace looks compared to the crafting bench/chests. Even though I can understand the stone look of it, I think that a more modern look would be better for this pack. Also, even though I like the megaman tools, I can see it being difficult to create textures for all the tools and make them really easy to distinguish. I also think the plank texture should be a little more defined and colorful since it seems out of place in this pack.
Overall, I love this pack and plan to use this pack for a very, very long time. It really stays true to Megaman, but at the same time its a great texture pack that I think anyone can appreciate. Good job!
Sorry for the absence of posts from me, but I'll be doing a few things as well. I'll be releasing a city terrain and a more MML1 oriented terrain for ruins. So look forward to those as well ;D

Hey, Wild, what are your specs/connection type? I joined and I was lagging pretty hard. Like "Teleport everywhere" hard.
Also, my progress: Minecart sounds done, All steps done, arrows done. Creeper done. Doors opening and closing done. Menu "Click" sound is being stubborn. Item pickups done. Still got the zombies, chickens, breathing, hurt noise, spiders, skeletons, slimes, cows, pigs, and cave noise to do. I wonder how hard it is to replace the music?

Nice! I don't think music would be hard at all. It probably just chooses a random file (among the currently existing ones) at a random time and plays all of it through to the end. What's the issue with the menu click sound? Also, cave noise = win, hehe. Can't wait, keep it up!
On second thought, were the non-harmful mobs going to be reskinned at all? I'm just thinking, what if cows, pigs, chickens, and sheep won't be cows, pigs, chickens, and sheep when the texture pack is done (in concern of their sounds).

It looks like the music for the records is already in there, and there's a few filetypes I've not ever seen, though.
The menu click sound is proving difficult to rip due to a hardware failure on my end.
Hey, Wild, what are your specs/connection type? I joined and I was lagging pretty hard. Like "Teleport everywhere" hard.
I have a 3.2Ghz Quad Core with 6gigs of ram and a ATI HD 4890. I have a pretty decent rig goin BUT I live in Alaska AND I have wireless internet that is prone to disconnecting.
As for neutral mobs I never considered re-skinning them. BUT I forgot to reskin the blob. I guess that's because Ive never god damn seen one before >:l
@Ragna - to fix that check out the patch I listed below the download link on the first page.
hey guys, this texture pack is great but I have some complaints about it, I don't mean to be a douche about this but I think you guys should hear my grievances.
it looks like you removed every texture aspect of minecraft and replaced them with megaman legends perfectly instead of merging/combining them. this way it looks like you're playing Megaman legends but feels detached from what you're really playing when you go to see your textures so altered but still contains minecraft physics, it's like "wait what am I playing here, minecraft or megaman, I can't tell anymore..."
firstly, I am in a snow clan on an online server, with this texture pack, snow is way too pure white, also, the ice is white, which kinda looks odd and doesn't make a good contrast between the snow
also, normal dirt doesn't match grassy dirt, this bugs me
the texture for leaves just doesn't seem to match, the MML leaves were meant for trees that more represented Pine trees, minecraft trees are a little too different IMO
also, the transition from obsidian to mossy stone seems odd, as in naturally occurring minecraft caves mossy stone is found right next to lava for some reason.
also didn't someone find a way to fix these higher res lava and water animation problems? if not, is there a way to change back to default lava and water and have them animate while keeping the MML textures?
I also think that gold blocks could have some more interesting textures than differently placed iron ones.
and the new crafting desks and furnaces look great and work with the theme well, but I kinda want my old ones back...
I know I'm being picky but Isn't there a way you can download a certain image editor and pick your own textures and lave the ones you still want? because if I can i'll just do that and not trouble you guys with my complaints or anything.
thanks again for making this texture pack regardless it looks great.
One tiny issue: you can't see through the doors. There's probably not a good fix for that. For now, we can just put glass blocks on either side. No other complaints so far.

That was done purposely, I'm sure. Doors could be completely transparent if Wild wanted them to be, but the idea is that Mega Man Legends' dungeon/ruins doors didn't have windows in them, therefore their Minecraft counterparts won't either. I support this decision, personally =P. I always felt that having windows in Minecraft's doors kinda defeated the common visual purpose of doors, which is to provide privacy when closed.
@Nineball: Yes, if you're willing to go through the work, you can merge whichever aspects of the original Minecraft textures and this pack that you wish. Notch uses paint.net to create all the textures, so you might try using it to mesh packs together as well. There will be a minor issue; as this is a higher-res pack, you'll need to scale each of the original Minecraft textures by 2x when bringing them to these texture maps. (Original blocks are 16x16, these are 32x32).
I do agree that it would be helpful for snow and ice to have a texture as opposed to being plain white, but we must also remember that this pack is still far from complete. Personally, I'm grateful that Wild and the others have released it in WIP form so we could check it out ahead of completion 8D.
As for the water and lava issues:

@Wild: Haha, that's harsh (the wireless issues). I'd say that pigs make sense in MML, since there were pigs in Legends 2. Not sure about the rest of the livestock, but with this being a higher-res pack altogether, I'd say they could all use a reskin lest they look somewhat out-of-place.
I've never seen slimes either D=. I guess they're really deep underground, and only in single player.
@SBKT: Ah yeah, I forgot about the .mus file type that's in there. Have you checked around for a way to convert to/from that format? Could that person who's helping you get SFX rip the menu click sound, or is he out of the picture already?

Ah, my friend bailed for the most part, but I have the OST for EVERY MEGAMAN GAME EVER sitting in here. I actually feel like being a jerk and throwing a Megaman X music track in in place of the cat record, if I can. I was thinking of Zero's theme, just because I remember the poster with Black Zero in the one shop in Yosyonke City.

That's awesome xD. Zero's theme from which game? The SNES ones were quite repetitive - personally I feel like it'd be a waste to make one of the only two records something as quick-looping as that =P. I do see your reasoning though. I think the themes I would have in consideration for the records would be:
Mega Man X3 Staff Roll (SNES version... Which reminds me that I haven't heard the PSX version o_o)
Mega Man X5 Staff Roll
Mega Man Legends Staff Roll (xD the staff rolls are the longest, least repetitive songs I guess)
Protoman's Theme (Power Battles 1/2 -- because of the Mega Man Classic TV show in the tavern/bar of Yosyonke)
Some of the classical music that plays throughout Legends and Legends 2
But eh, I digress. It's all up to you =P. Seeing as they *are* records however, I say that - just like records - you could put multiple songs into the file for each record ;D. After all, the record player doesn't automatically repeat, so the longer the better!
(<_< >_> One record for cameo appearance themes such as Zero and Protoman, one for classical?)
DO do do do doodoo DO do do do doo doo. Dun nuh nuh nuh dunununuh dudhudhduhduhd doodeededoo doodedededoo dodododo do doo
xD You! Would you mind sending me or uploading and posting the link on here for the inventory background skin? It'd be much appreciated, since it wasn't included in the WIP pack for whatever reason.

I don't care if you recreate all of MML or if you get creative and make your own. Go crazy :smile.gif:

I might leave the neutral mobs alone, yeah.
