First, an update to items.png:

Secondly, this is what I was thinking of doing with the pictures. A bunch of pixel-art from well-known artists. Sadly I couldn't fit the actual images in there, so I tried to crop them down while trying to maintain the best artistic touch. Here's the image:
The hardest part will be giving due credit. Most likely I will have an extra file with credits to each artist, and possibly in the file itself... But here they are from left to right(and then downwards, of course):
Awesome job on the items and the pictures look amazing, try not to sacrifice too much detail on the images themselves for placing them into the file! Although, perhaps for the lave bucket you could have a bubbling surface on the contained lava and/or a unusual looking bucket, like its burnt or melting? But hey, thats my own preference . Also, are gonna have a update for Halloween?
Seems like I can't use that painting pack :sad.gif: The resolution(it's 150% larger than the resolution of the rest of the graphics) causes Minecraft to crash. Looks like I'll have to redo that.
As for bubbling lava, I will try, but while it might not look like it, there's not a lot of space in there to work with. Making visual bubbles may be very hard to do.
lol trust me, I love Fool's work, and quite a few up there are his :tongue.gif: However, some of them just don't work well cropped down, and I don't want to resize anything as pixel-art loses a lot of its effect when messed with like that. I also wanted some variety. Fool is awesome, but so are a lot of others up there :smile.gif:
Ya, 200% still crashes... I don't think Minecraft likes mixed resolutions so I guess I'll just have to keep it at the same ratio as the other textures. The problem from that is that most of my favorite pixel art just doesn't get the respect it deserves in such small confines.
I just took the default and resized it to 400% and it still crashed. From testing things out, it seems the only sizes I will be able to use are 100% and 200%. A bit disappointing since a lot of my favorites are pretty large(like Fool's work).
That's so weird. I could have sword they used to work before. But yeah I could only get the 512x512 to work. Still looks amazing. Are you going to make your own frames?

Then forget about it, i'd much rather you finish all the items than to bother with one that already looks great as is.
I would request you make the porkchop bone not look so hollow (it really should be a solid slice of bone).. otherwise, everything is outstanding. thank you!!

I will probably lighten it up some, but in my experience those bones tend to be hollow and nothing but bone marrow.
i like it (: still thinking of looks for the diamond stuffs ?
I was going to make the diamond items represent famous items, like the Master Sword. Then I realized there no famous shovels, hoes, or pick axes... which shatters that idea. Maybe I'll have diamond-tipped items, as items made purely from diamonds leaves me at a loss, currently.

Can you edit the book so it resembles the ones used in your terrain.png? Colored spines and a bit more definition because this is a bit too simple.
Possibly. Right now I'm trying to focus on completing the pack before I improve it, as people are offset by using incomplete packs. I chose brown mainly because it represents a neutral item instead of any certain one(which there are many in bookshelves).

Maybe some embossing on the brick to give it a rim.
It is embossed?
Quote from Ilsyde »
Cuboid base for the silver and gold bars to make them less 'flat'.
I wanted to avoid bricks because I felt ingots are more well-known. I'm not sure how a brick would look less flat than an ingot, though?
Quote from Ilsyde »
Horizontal lines on the buckets' sides? Circles basically, that divide their pieces into rings.
Not following you, sorry.
Quote from Ilsyde »
Bunch of papers on top of each other forming a thick stack of notes. So that they resemble a would-be-book more than four pieces of paper in a pattern you'd hold cards.
Like I said when I originally made the paper, I wasn't happy with it. A stack may work, but I'm not too worried about it currently.
Quote from Ilsyde »
Bit more rough texture for the sign (cracks, patterns etc.).
Hmm, maybe. The sign pretty much represents its larger version in-game. Also there's no much room for fine detail like that.

Diamond from an isometric view instead this simple side view.
I tried it when I first started the diamond. I didn't have much luck so I just went with a side view. The complexities of a diamond are pretty hard to fit into a small space, and even more so when you start skewing what little amount of pixels you have into a distorted view.

terrain.png: I'd take out the odd planks from the rail (from the bend)
I had been considering it since I made it, but I haven't decided yet as 3 rails may look a bit empty.

I love the flint, coal and the feather. Please don't change them. Also like the texture for the bacon.
How about something that is fulled carved from diamond ? and i still don't get how diamond = cyan . but yeah, for example, a sword made of pure diamond i.e. someone carved a sword out of a huge block of diamond would be cool . i think >.>
one more question, if you wanted to make a diamond sword resemble the master sword, i'm guessing you got the designs for the other swords from something as well ?
Also, i don't see what's wrong with a diamond pick / shovel that looks SIMILAR to the other picks / shovels . because thats pretty much what you did with stone, iron and gold and of course, change the texture abit . then you could use your master sword . then find/create some nice looking design for the axe and the hoe .
and besides, diamond shovels / picks / axes / hoes are abit unrealistic . even gold for that matter . but this is minecraft and everything is possible (:

The designs up there I came up with as I was working on them. The only reason I wanted the diamond sword as a Master sword was for Easter egg purposes, and because I couldn't come up with anything for a diamond sword, and thought it'd be cool to throw in easter eggs for each item. Colorwise they'd probably be more white than anything, and most likely very blue(like the diamond item itself).
Also, it's not that it's unrealistic that's the problem, but that I'm having a hard time coming up with any sort of design involving diamond. The sword would probably be easy enough, but when it comes down to shovels and pick axes and such is when things get a little complicated.
If I'm going to do diamond items, I'm going to make them worth it. There's nothing worse than going through the trouble of getting a 'rare' item and finding out it looks ugly. I remember the last sword in Dark Cloud 2 was an ugly ass tribal circular saw or something:
It pretty much ruined the sword for me, even though it had the top stats in the game. I went and got the second-best sword.

Only one way to make the paintings aweseomer though. Use more of Fool's art
The castle one would be cool (or the castle on the croc), and maybe resize the winter one to show the boat/ more of the scene?

E: Wait the one you were using is 300% not 150%.
