i cant help seeing a cats face in that skeleton.. duno if thats a good or a bad thing
This is not surprising, as the nose is smooshed into the mouth. I originally had the eyes/nose a pixel higher but it spaced it out too much and it lost the feel the original had. Not sure how I'm going to resolve it(if it does become a big issue), though. Ah, the joys of pixel-art.
another thing i noticed is that ur rock is brownish
i havnt loaded ur texture pack yet into my minecraft yet because i tought id w8 for u to finish it
but doesnt having rock and dirt share color make the landscape look like a big brown blob ? or am i just being over imaginative
I don't think it's that big of a problem at all. The stone might have a very light brown hue to it, but it's closer to gray than brown. I don't have any problems telling the difference in-game:
I've got a new screenshot of the creeper, I brightened around it a little since it was a bit dark:
Is the water supposed to be animated when it's not moving? Right now with your latest pack and xau's patch, still water is animated, and flowing water has a moving texture, but it isnt animated, the texture just slides along. It looks pretty weird so I'm just wondering if it's supposed to be this way.

I haven't yet made a flowing water animation, so Xau's patch is handling the flowing water animation by code, hence why it slides. It's either that or no animation at all right now, sorry.
Okay, one more update before bed, and it's to the items:
> Bow got an upgrade
> Feather
> Clay
> Lava and Snow(I'm assuming) buckets
> Bowl and Stew
> Paper(which I'm considering doing over)
> Sign
> and the Wooden Stick

Ahaha Dusty those are buckets of milk :wink.gif:
You right click on the cow to get them. But everything is coming along very nicely.
Edit: Chopsticks is an awesome idea, your soup looks epic.

Haha, really? Damn, what a waste of effort. Hopefully Notch eventually adds the ability to pick up snow with a bucket so it doesn't go to waste!
Also, for the person before who was wondering about the transparency of the water, here is a screenshot of the current version of water(animated) in the game:
It's at 75% opacity if I remember correctly, and quite a bit of detail can be discerned through the water in my opinion?
Could you reduce the opacity of the textures on water ? it is too visible which is unlike clear sparkling water which is still not that visible, in my opinion anyway. and ...... make it sparkle :biggrin.gif: i.e. make it shine abit ! (:

I think that's about the best balance of transparency and visibility you're going to get (nice kraken)
My oceans aren't animated when I apply this texture pack. The water is just still. Any idea why?
Have you followed the steps in the original post exactly? Inserting the proper file into the minecraft.jar BEFORE you patch(or into the minecraft.original.jar if you've already patched) is very important.

Why would you install that water file in the original.jar after patch? I thought the original.jar wasn't used for the game and only minecraft.jar was used.
** Edit** Ok, you did have it backwards. If you install it after the patch, it needs to be put in the minecraft.jar, not the minecraft.original.jar. I tried original.jar first and my water was still not moving. Then I put that file into the minecraft.jar and now my water is moving.
Yay! Looks really good, also. Thanks for making it. :biggrin.gif:

I said only patch minecraft.original.jar if you already tried patching, because the patcher will use that instead of minecraft.jar if it exists.
You should have to copy the file first, because the patcher will make a back-up of the minecraft.jar. So if the file is already loaded into the zip then it should make it into the patched version.
I started up my map, and I was deep in a cave. It was darker than usual. Ominous. Every step I took had me on high alert. It's the darkness of the stone, I'm sure of it. One by one, I discovered each ore, and I was awed at them over and over. The items are absolutely stunning, and I only have one complaint, which pains me to mention. The stone and iron tools are too similar in color to differentiate ingame. I find myself accidentally using up my iron when I'm trying to save it, or using stone on some rare ore, only to find it destroyed and me left with naught. For now, I've lowered the contrast on the stone to make it darker, and it's working nicely. Hopefully you can fix this.
I also have a mentioning of the dirt block type. It seems not to fit with the beauty of everything else. A different style almost. The grass and dirt combo seem odd. It's only a thought, but perhaps it'd be wise to reevaluate this.
Anyway, all complaints and nonsense aside, I aspire to be as good as you. I have my own texture pack floating around, and it's absolutely dwarfed by your's. Continue the good work, and you have me eagerly awaiting more from you.
Thanks for creating this and improving my Minecraft experience. This work speaks wonders for your talent.
I've also updated the original post with the zip of all the new stuff.
A question though. Are you guys interested in actual paintings, or would you like something customized towards a more diverse experience? What I mean is I could change paintings into more decorative items, like curtains, swords and such that you can hang around the house instead(the idea was inspired by another thread, but I can't find it). One problem with this is that the experience will change for other players, as they will see different things(in SMP).
Or should I just do paintings and decorative packs? The paintings I was thinking about using some pixel-art from some well known pixel-artists.
Sooo..all that's left to do is wheat and lava on the terrain.png? I've been using this pack and i freakin love it. However, i removed the blue from the grass, and i made all the stone grey instead of brown, just for personal preference.
Also, i recommend a combination of paintings and other wall objects.
Or if you're willing to spend that much extra time, make an entire kz of paintings, and one of hangable objects, curtains, etc.
Then people can mix & match whatever they like themselves.

Will you be updating your pack after the Halloween update?
