The poster is probably referring to textures from the terrain. Some appear less-hashed out in detail than other blocks, like comparing the tree bark to stone and such.

You should try to get some better screenshots though, you know? Almost all of those are really outdated and they don't really grab anyone's attention. Putting more effort into making the OP look more professional and clean usually improves popularity. Throw different pictures and fancy designs at the users like Doku did instead of text and more text.

I agree! I'm not very good at screenshots, and I don't really build THAT much... at least nothing massive and impressive. If you'd like to grab some nice pictures that would be lovely :smile.gif: Though... I see no screenshots in Doku's thread? Just a video... ?

I would vote for smooth stone like it has been suggested before. Something close to the stone slabs' textures.

For those who are new to the pack I'll fill you in! I started the pack in September of 2010 and it's still here! I'm a pixel artist so my work is mostly pixelly clean. No noise, all original work [size="1"](mostly, save for fillers from the awesome Eld)[/size], no copy/pastes. Just nice, clean pixelly goodness. Oh, it's also "HD" but don't let that fool you! It simply means it's a higher resolution than the default Minecraft textures [size="1"](which are very small)[/size]. This isn't the HD picture you're going to see in your new TV... but Minecraft does come in 3D, oooooooooooooooooo!

A) I assure you, they do work... but like the above says you need to patch your client for them to gain their original functionality.

A) It's not my texture pack, but the client. When Minecraft is updated all the code from the mods you have installed disappear since Minecraft gets a new fresh version. All you have to do is repatch your client again after each update.

For this very reason my pack will never make everyone happy. Some people love the colors of the wood, [i]some people[/i] hate it and think it's too orange. Someone is going to be unhappy. Now that's not to say I'm not open to critique and opinion, I am! I just have to be realistic for my own, and everyone's sake. That is why I have provided alternatives in the pack. If you don't like something, check that file and maybe you can find an alternative that you can be happy with. Of course, this requires you to be able to edit the files yourself without breaking them, which leads to...

A) If I am somehow linked to the end of the world, I wouldn't be surprised. But I don't think it's because of you editing my pack. It's simple, you used an image editor that doesn't support transparency or something. MSPaint is a major culprit. You have to use something like The GIMP or Photoshop to edit images, or you will mess up the transparency. If you have messed up, redownload the zip and try again with a proper editor.

Dusty, I think in your new original post setup you should put a large disclaimer at the top saying those are your textures, and give a picture or something as proof.
A while back there was a version of this pack with a lighter-gray color smoothstone that someone posted. Would it be possible to include that as an alternative? The brownish-smoothstone just doesn't look right in my opinion.

Im a bit sad i wasted all my time doing all that but do whatever you want.
That sort of design was something I tried out for my website back in November. I didn't like it though(I was going to do various layers of size, emulating depth), so I scrapped it.
Then again I only toyed with the idea for a few minutes so of course it ended up looking like ass:
Yeah thats way too big/ messy/ purposeless. I still think you should use mine if youre going with the same idea as it's simple and, at least in my opinion, contains what i see as sort of those iconic blocks and it sticks with the theme (cause I really like the ancient ruins style youve been doing lately). So are you gonna use the rest of the post as i posted it though :biggrin.gif:?

As I feel it resembles Doku's too much. I might just try to figure out my own design, but I definitely wouldn't consider this a waste.
