I must say i enjoy your textures and this pack. But....
Your wool does not please me. I run a city on a smp made entirely of wool, but some colours dont mix well in this pack. Some have diagonal lines and borders and some dont. I think you should go all or none. Like everything should have x's and borders or none should. I dont know, just my opinion, and its biased from a wool lover but still.....
Good pack and all and i know its a WIP. Keep up the good work!!

Honestly I don't think I'll ever be able to please the majority with wool. Everyone wants different stuff, and their usefulness can vary between texture packs(default wools for example are unusable unless you like neon colors). Best I can recommend is customizing them to your liking until I come up with a decent pattern.
Okay, I've got a minor update here. I've packaged the zip with a new file: alternatives.png
Here you'll find various alternative tiles for whatever you want to use them for. Some of them are older versions, some of them are new that I haven't decided whether they should be "official" or not. Some are color adjustments for the needy. Either way you will need to do the swapping yourself, and make sure you don't do it with a primitive program like MSPaint that doesn't support transparency, as it will mess it up. I'm not here to write a tutorial on texture pack editing though.
I've also adopted a new version format. The texture pack version with coincide with Minecraft's version number(provided the pack is up to date) as well as a chronological letter appended that tells you how many times the pack has been updated since the latest Minecraft update. For example the latest version is: dustycraft_v1.5.01-b.zip, "B" because this is the second update since v1.5.01 Minecraft release.
My interest in Minecraft has picked up some lately so I will attempt to try to update the pack more often, such as the new GUI's and such.
The pack seems very well done, I love how it's all pixel art, specially since I'm a pixel artist.
The weapons seem beautiful. But my only concern are the armors. I would like to see a more varied style for them, cuz some people might take the textures as some kind of RPG styled game. and the armors must try to match that style. Or for example, if people used your pack and you had some Japanese styled textures for some blocks, then the armors must resemble something out of that, like samurai armors or something like that.
Okay, I'm going over my pack and here is what I'm planning next, so hopefully expect updates on these over the next week:
> New wild grass, and possibly other mods. However, don't get your hopes up. I'm actually working on the wild grass stuff now but I probably won't actually implement it until Notch adds it(he's tweeted a screenshot of his version with it) as adding all these mods aren't easy for me, and harder to keep up with. Right now my client isn't modded so I can't even see what it looks like, but for wild grass I plan on abandoning the style of other props like the flowers/wheat, with the dark outlines and using the same palette as the grass itself. This will hopefully blend the grass better with the terrain for a better effect.
> Pine leaves
> New wool blocks, possibly ditching the 'each color is unique' theme
> New sandstone. As you can see from my alternatives one side is already made, but I'm not sure yet if I'm going to adopt it.
> Since the Nether is coming to SMP, I may revisit those blocks as I was never entirely happy with them in the first place. At least the netherrack and glow stone, not soulsand. I like the soulsand :smile.gif:
> New tilled soil
> Boats and Minecarts
> Iron, Gold, Diamond and Lapus blocks(not ores) may get revisited to be more appealing to build with. However I play mostly legit in SMP so I don't see those blocks being used too often, so what could be done with them I'm not entirely sure.

Well, the samurai armor was chosen because I had a hard time coming up with a concept for leather armor. However, as I searched and thought, I realized samurai armor was made out of leather. It seemed quite fitting, actually, and I don't think it really feels out of place here.
Well I actually searched that out too myself, and yeah I can see now what you mean by that. Also, about the updates that you plan to make, I can see where your going with the alternates that you posted earlier, and i gave the pack a tr, everything worked well, although, I made a structure out of regular rock (not Cobble Stone)and it ended up looking...well nothing like I expected, but then I gave some of the alternates a try, and it worked like magic. I would like to see more of this great pack.
Iron, Gold, Diamond and Lapus blocks(not ores) may get revisited to be more appealing to build with. However I play mostly legit in SMP so I don't see those blocks being used too often, so what could be done with them I'm not entirely sure.
One thing you could do, is to make sure that every precious block coordinates nicely with at least one less rare block. That way you could build pillars from the more basic material, with the precious block either as a base or a capital. Or you could build a trim, and disperse a few precious blocks in it.
Another option is to design a precious block to look good with a torch on it. That way, you can really spice up a basic cobblestone wall by inserting a single precious block and placing a torch on it. Looks quite fancy!
Hopefully this gives you a few ideas. I'm looking forward to see the new updates you're planning! :smile.gif:

I'll definitely have to think about it, the biggest problem is making textures that work around what people will casually build, instead of building around a texture pack. I dunno, I might make something like... cobblestone with gold inlay or something. I'm not the best when it comes to design(hence armor being disregarded for so long) so it'll take some thinking, heh.
New updates are already underway, but I want to do more before I update. Currently new pines are done, new tilled soil, new sandstone and wool and started on new wild grass.
Also, for those who always ask for a 16x16 Dustycraft, I'll have to say the likelihood of that happening is slim to none. However, I stumbled across this little gem: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/148271-puddles-tooncraft-pack-16x16/ I don't know if I was the inspiration and frankly I don't care, but it reminds me a lot of my pack with its own charm and if you like my work I definitely suggest checking it out. The saturation is a little bit too high for me, but for anyone who feels the same way it's an easy fix so don't let that dissuade you. I know I'm not Doku or anyone, but it's sad to see original and quality packs like that slip into obscurity under the mass amount of remix, 256x256 images.google.com packs and "simple" packs. Give it some support!
Yeah, i agree. But although i really like this pack
Also you need to update your link to the New MCPatcher

Will it be possible in the future to have a 32xHD armor texture?

Curse PremiumOf course it's possible, but I've looked and looked at the armors and I can't say I've ever felt thrilled to start on them.
other than that kudos !
edit:
also does this work with 1.5.01?
