Ey Dusty, just thought I'd stop by and let you know I like how your textures are turning out. Everything is very well done, and I especially love that meat. You were also an inspiration for my first batch of unfinished items, but since then I've started over with 16x16. Maybe they can help you get some inspiration in return.

:smile.gif: Thanks! Means a lot coming from a pixel artist like yourself.
Also, if anyone didn't notice on the front page the first image is spaced about 4 or so lines below the text. There is no break or otherwise between the text and the image. This doesn't occur with the second image. So a diamond to anyone who can tell me why there is such a huge spacing issue. If more info is needed(such as the raw text) I can provide that.

Not having the problem with Opera. Then again, using Opera, the speech bubble is at the "Home" button, not at the creeper.
Aye. Chances are I will straighten out the stone pick some and hoes may also be changed to Scythes. I didn't want to do that, but the fact is hoes from the side are insanely boring, and in fact with the hoe I made I had to "make up" the side just to actually have something to look at.
The problem is the "hoe" has to look like a combination scythe and digging tool. A regular scythe will look weird digging in the soil and a regular hoe (with the flat wide rectangular blade) will look weird harvesting the crops.
I think if you straighten the stone pick you could stick with the design you have for the iron hoe.
I love these tools, especially how the stone ones are clearly a chunk of stone tied to a stick.
Why did you change the topic title if there's no differences between the 11/11/10 and 11/09/10?
I even had to take the gunpowder you haven't released yet, (from one of your other posts) tweak it, and palette swap it for redstone and lightstone respectively.
Here's the image just in case people are curious.
On the far left is his original (pulled from the huge image file).
Second is my color tweak
3rd and 4th are my redstone and lightstone palette swaps.

There were some major updates for tools that wasn't in the update for the 9th. As for gunpowder I didn't include that because I wasn't happy with it. If I'm not happy with the quality it won't make it :smile.gif: I have already replaced the graphics for all the powders though I haven't updated it yet since I didn't consider it a change worth mentioning.
I've been watching this thread since the beginning and I finally got around to installing it today and I was totally blown away. All of the textures complement each other really well and they create an awesome new feeling to the game. The whole pack is seriously amazingly well done and beautiful, I don't think I will ever be able to go back to the default.
One thing I want to point out, though, is I don't think that Notch has ever come out and said definitively that the blue ore is diamond or that the silver ore is iron, etc. and that you could always change them to something else if you wanted to be creative with it.
The way you have the ores now is really good looking and fits really well with the art style of the pack but it is kind of subtle. I think that for the sake of gameplay and visibility you should at least include an add-on when you release the pack that makes the diamond ore block more bluish and the iron ore block more silverer.
Also I have a really minor suggestion to make the hydrated soil a little darker because it is kind of hard to tell the difference.
btw I am really loving how the site and how the items are coming along, I can't wait to see how everything turns out!

Well the iron was originally grey/silver but people had a lot of complaints about it being too similar to the diamond to tell apart. And diamond is already very blue. I'm not exactly sure what I'd be able to do to make it any more blue.

I'll see about this, I already did make it dark but I'll be honest I really never farmed in-game so I can't say how they actually look.
As for the inactiveness, sorry! Been busy with other things, and I'll admit I've been playing a lot of Black Ops with friends so I guess I kind of took a vacation. Right now I'm working on a commission and after that I'll see about finishing the site and working on the pack some more. I'll be honest though, I kind of stopped working on it because the items are almost done and the ones left are the hardest ones I've put aside for last... and I was having a really hard time with them.
I made a "placebo" Dusty Texture pack for anyone who's interested. It contains everything that the official pack does, only it is more consistent in size and style (more or less).
Unofficial Changes:
- Container, Crafting Box, and Furnace interfaces now match the style of the inventory
- Fixed 16x16 tools to look more like Dusty's
- Iron door, Cooked fish, and Records are redone
- Armor (except leather helm and body), Boat, Leather, Watch, Saddle, String, and Reeds are 32x32 (Vattic's Faithful 32x32 Pack)
- Arrows (in game) are resized

First I'd like to apologize. I wanted to see this through to the end but there were multiple factors that attributed to its current status. First, after the Halloween update patching the client became more of a chore than it was worth. Every update broken the patcher, and the patcher itself was neglected for a few weeks(it worked, but didn't fix things like portals and such). I don't hold any grudge against the Xau for that, however. Secondly, Notch openly objected to higher resolutions and seemed to purposefully ignore the very easy fixes strictly because he didn't seem to like them. This was incredibly discouraging. Then, there is the fact that I saved the hardest stuff to do last. Now I'm stuck with a bunch of icons and such that I was just getting stumped on day after day. With the above factors in play this quickly killed my motivation. Lastly there is the fact that I slowly got bored with Minecraft. I barely play it now, so it's hard to work on something that I don't even play.
Maybe in the near future Minecraft will have renewed interest when SMP becomes more playable. And maybe with Notch implementing official mod support there can be an HD patch that doesn't have to be a pain to worry about. Maybe these things will help me revisit the pack with some new motivation. Again, I apologize! Though I am happy with how far I got, save a few icons and other things there was a lot of work done, and the textures themselves are mostly done. I would consider it playable(in fact I played with it for a long time before I stopped bothering to patch the client), even if not finished. Though I wouldn't blame people for using more finished packs.

Thanks for the new wheat and powders too, they look awesome.
One-topic: Maybe a scythe styled handle, with a broad hoe head? Or some other farming utensil haha
